Why exclude food prices? Food is a big part of every family or person budget. Many food prices now doubled or tripled. More food price increases were announced in news two weeks ago. 3% is a joke.

In the UK they claim food prices have gone up 10% or so, but in reality quite a lot has gone up by 100 to 200% so yes food prices are a major contribution to inflation figures, so they should be taken into consideration, but is this not manipulating the figures so they don't look so bad?

Meanwhile the Real Salaries are getting between 5 to 10% lower each month....

Hard for politicians to stay in power with inflation, which is yen based and ignores the far larger problem

Yen currency's 'real' asset purchasing power destruction, which against any diversified basket of commodities priced in US$ is down easily 80% in less than 5 years.

Why? BOJ money printing and Ukraine Global Proxy War destroying currency demand, including US$. Why inflation plagues world, another reason DJT wants PEACE!

Bad news. Japan needs to inflate the debt away.

Prices still going up but salaries not?

I personally know of a business that is having to reduce branches.

Look around at all the shuttered retailers!

Yesterday, I went for lunch in a local restaurant and I was the only customer!

Why?

Most people don’t have enough money except for the basics.

This article is full of it. Just recently we read that gas prices were rising because the gov'ts subsidies had been lifted. But this says that the gov't is still paying. So which is it. I don't remember hearing about them being reinstated. Also as others have said, prices are rising monthly, and not at a paltry 3%, but much higher!

The BoJ are doing a magnificent job in guiding the CPI up to its target 2% on a sustainable basis.
