Oh my god,I thought all the Japanese corporations were the most honest people on earth but the fact wasn't.

What a big news for me !

$1.6 Billion... don't even think about trying to deceive U.S. regulators. Now Japan on the other hand, they'd get of with an apology and a very small fine.

And in Japan?

Big business people are the big liars. That's how probably they amass their wealth.

Basically most automakers have falsified emission data at down point - why?

because regulators make the requirements so tough they are impossible to meet.

Anyone remember VW doing the same years ago?.

oh totally. But you forgot to add the very deep bow! And look for some individual to take the blame.

As often for this kind of fraud, no individual responsibility for the ones who are behind this ?

"The deal includes a five-year term of probation during which Hino will be barred from importing diesel engines it has manufactured into the United States and implement a comprehensive compliance and ethics program"

That's not probation, that's a ban. That is too severe. Hino makes great products. Maybe Trump will pardon them (8-) !

I went out to Hino to visit someone I knew working there.

Great job, from what guys told me

emissions spewed by its diesel engines

Spewed.

Unbiased reporting right there.

Not true. Cummins, Caterpillar, Detroit and Navistar all manage to meet the same emissions standards.

Anyone remember VW doing the same years ago?.

And if you remember VW had to buy back all their diesel powered cars and paid a $14.7 Billion civil fine and a $2.8 billion criminal penalty. In Europe the VW Group will have to recall around 1//3 of all the cars it has produced since 2009, about 8.5 million cars.

VW had to buy back their non-compliant turbo diesel cars in the US. HIno isn't being made to do that.
