We want to make military equipment. We want to make big things. We want to do the AI thing with computers," Trump said.

We are looking to do chips and computers and lots of other things, and tanks and ships," Trump said.

Wow, so much knowledgeable insight from one person and so perfectly well-expressed. /s

Trump has a problem even doubling manufacturing from the current 10% of the GDP.

Trump Admin economic policies, including trade and tariffs, designed to increase manufacturing and re-shore supply chains. However, Trump mainly targeting areas impacting national security, reducing reliance on China

Elon Musk says, great companies must manufacture, as outsourcing is too slow, risky and expensive. Plus, manufacturing fuels cutting edge innovation. Trump agrees!

Trump intends to increase manufacturing, as % of GDP from approx. 10% today to approx. 20% in 2028, fueling new jobs, investment, wealth creation, innovation, tax revenues and US National Security

But weren't the tariffs on China supposed to bring back production of things made in China, like socks and t-shirts? I don't think US tanks and military equipment are made in China.

We're already making tanks Moron...

It's your T-Shirts and other Trump Collection clothing line that is made in Chinese sweatshops...as if you don't know...

It's coded speak for Trump still making much of his MAGA merchandise in China.

Trump's trade, tariff and reshoring policy focused on areas impacting US National Security, so manufacturing to make 'hard power' possible; areas like chips & tech. in general, pharma & medical supplies, defense related, energy, mining, shipbuilding, steel, aluminum, etc.

Trump likes his toys big.

Tanks, ships, AI? Easy to dismantle this big joke. Tanks would require an invasion, no one invades US, and interested people elsewhere don't buy tanks that never had to work under practice conditions. Ships are per se swimming coffins only and militarily, let's say some of the easiest and quasi-static targets. And his big AI, chips and computer thing? Forget it the earlier the better. AI cannot work properly and never will, that's easy to understand after a few basic mathematics lessons at level of good high schools or latest during universities' first semester's basic math repetitions.

Then maybe he shouldn’t have put a 100% trump tax on shirts.

"We're not looking to make sneakers and T-shirts. We want to make military equipment. We want to make big things. We want to do the AI thing with computers," Trump said.

And people were concerned about Biden's mental state. What is Trump's excuse for going 78 years with this level of education?

MAGA rubes will believe that we need to increase tank production to counter russia/China.

Someone should sell Trump on building a new line of Trumpmax container ships.

Tanks are already made in the USA - they're not imported

Then why is Trump putting tariffs on everything when he doesn't even care for some goods to be made in America?

He shouldn't mind that Nike is raising prices, and so is Walmart raising prices on these goods

So next time people complain about why not build factories of these goods in the USA, let's remind that Trump doesn't mind not having such factories in the US neither
