Quite diverse.

I hope any company employing these users as well as petiole using them are roundup and fined and deported and banned for life on returning.

When I first came to Japan they were little more than a business card that could have been photocopied. Even these modern ones don’t have good security measures on them (obviously). I got picked up by the cops for illegal parking back in the mid-2000’s and they did a full work over on my alien card to check its legitimacy. They told me then that there were a lot of fake cards around. That was over twenty years ago so it’s not as if this is something new. What have they done about it? Nothing, of course. They still use the same cards with next to zero security measures.

By the way, if the j-flops ask you for your card you don’t give to them. You only have to show them you have one.

JGOV should give them a job.

Fake is a crime. Better get a right one.

What have they done about it? Nothing, of course.

Of course nothing, that just Japan.

The two could have been involved in making at least 7,500 fake identity documents, including driver's licenses, for about five months from November,

Wondering a bit, which nationalities are their main customer.

All I see is your usual racism.

I'm really surprised half your racist comments don't get deleted. Not!

Nothing racist about my post.

The pro-PRC crowd on here ludicrously try to defend everything that is Chinese, even if it's clearly criminal -- like annexing Taiwan, committing genocide in Xinjiang, or occupying the South China Sea -- so I am pointing out that parallel with these criminals.

If police can dig out the data from those 7,500 fake zairyucards then there could be a record number of deportations if say, even a quarter of the buyers are still in Japan. Some of them may even have reached good positions in business or general professions like care workers etc. I bit of dilemma since Japan needs all hands it can get hold of.

Deport them immediately and make sure they never get back into Japan. And deport anyone caught with a fake one.

We all know how strict and exclusive are being of the Japanese immigration laws.

Perhaps, but we all do not all think immigration laws should be so lax as to allow criminals to forge immigration documents so that illegal aliens can ignore those laws and evade authorities.

All Chinese of course

its these trash that get let in that mess up the perception for those who are or want to reside in Japan. As penalty take everything they have and those who got fake ID and deport them!

I have noticed a number of commentors note the nationality of the individuals involved in this story as well as a number of individuals who respond to these commentors with claims of "racism." Now I maybe wrong, but it is my understanding that Chinese are not a "race," but a nationality determined by their being the people of the country of China. Now I had always thought that Chinese are "Asian" in terms of "race." But one has to wonder how "racist" it is to note the nationality of the criminals in this instance. I do not think anyone has attributed the criminal acts to the "race" of the individuals involved. Might it not be the case that some jump on the "racist" card too quickly? I think if anything there is an assumption or expectation that these sorts of acts follow from the nationality of the indivivuals involved which of course is erroneous given the fact there are still other Chinese who can respect the laws of the land and live accordingly in Japan. With increased immigration from China and Vietnam, naturally, there is an increased number of criminals out of these communities. The question before us is this: do individuals of these nationalities evidence a disproportionate level of criminality relative to their population percentage in Japan? How do they compare to other foreign communities in Japan? Such considerations and questions are important I think before simplistic accusations of racism are thrown about.

Could it be that they just wanted to help and take some of the load off Immigration back log?!?

"Domo arigato, Mr. Roboto, for doin' the jobs that nobody wants to," is that it? Yet they are not authorized to make the determinations as to who may stay and who may not. Thus it is best to leave it to Japan to make those determinations, not their compatriots. It is, after all, Japan, not China. Let China decide who it wants to allow to live there and let Japan allow who it decides to stay.

Why that is always the Chinese or Vietnamese the ones that bring the foreigners a bad reputation!?? And yes, those cards were not made for foreigners, but mostly for Chinese illigal emigrants, why hide this!?? Just zoom at the picture or find a high res one on the web to get a confirmation of this.

Here we go again. And I ask you again. Who here is actually defending these criminals?

What has Taiwan, XJ or SCS got to do with this article? Once more, idiotic, inflammatory comments not deleted. Stirring the pot? Or helping to bring more traffic to JT?

i wonder if any of them might succeed in moving to another town, using the id to change their address and finally wind up in the system and legal?!

Hmm seems impossible, the fake IDs are not in the system.

What I wish the article included is whether any of these fake residence cards have been used to obtain My Number cards or Drivers Licenses.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Not much what police can do now. Most of the money is likely gone to somewhere, and after a while in prison they will be deported.

About these people who ordered such fake documents from them, police might try to find and arrest those who are still in Japan, deport them, banned to enter Japan, hopefully for always.

This is an endless job, arrest and deport a few foreign criminals, and others will enter Japan and replace them within a week or so.
