Police in Matsudo City, Chiba Prefecture, have arrested a 33-year-old unemployed man on suspicion of fatally stabbing his 37-year-old sister at her apartment.
According to police, Fumiyasu Misu, who lives in Wakayama City, is accused of stabbing his sister Marina in the chest and back at around 11:15 a.m. on Friday, NTV reported.
About 15 minutes later, Misu turned himself in at a police station 300 meters from the scene, saying, "I killed my sister."
Police went to the apartment and found the victim with more than 10 stab wounds to her body, some of which were deep enough to reach her heart. She was taken to hospital where she was declared dead on arrival.
Police said Misu has admitted to stabbing his sister but denied intent to kill her. He has so far given no motive.

You're going to be disapointed if you confuse "low crime rate" with "no crime at all". Japan never has never been nor will be be euphoric. At least to any of us who live there.

Unfortunate family incident. It happens sometimes in all countries, it is not something to do with Japan. It is human nature,

@John,
Calling cold blooded murder "unfortunate" is a bit... regrettable choice of words, I'd say.
I don't know any other country where people happily stab their family members like that. This is literally news every day...
Glad I don't have family here.

This is truly heartbreaking. I believe it’s time for the Japanese government to encourage people to speak up, no matter what they’re going through — there’s no shame in asking for help. Turning to violence, like stabbing someone, is never the answer.
Rest in peace to his sister — may her soul find peace.
