So what was his intention, have a firework event or just get some attention?

No intention to kill? If true why not to throw some eggs at him if you don't want to injure or kill him? However using a self-made bomb which debris were found even 60 meters away is attempted murder. No way to deny it.

Many comments here rant about Japan’s justice system yet seem happy to string Kimura up

He made a pipe bomb, simple, why would you make one? The only reason you make one is to maim, injure, kill, if his intention was to scare, try a fire cracker, I am convinced of his intention was to injure the PM.

If he didn’t intend to kill, why not just throw a firecracker? He made the bombs by hand. The only thing that saved Kishida was Kimura’s incompetence—not his intention.

Copycat crime. Luckily this one failed. Abesan RIP.

Never do things half heartedly.
Always finish what you start.
Kimura, next time get the job done or just stay home.

Because he thought he could become friends by throwing a pipe bomb? Nutter.
