A male under 20 who left for China earlier this week has emerged as the suspect in a graffiti incident at the war-linked Yasukuni Shrine in Tokyo, investigative sources said Friday.

If he is already in China I am sure the Chinese authorities will have great appreciation for the gravity of this heinous crime at such a hallowed place and extradite him ASAP.

They are always Chinese.

It seems China has no lack of cowardly losers who can only attack stone pillars and pedestals. They don’t hit back.

For now yes, remember not only China having disgruntled about Yasukuni.

I will repeat my comment from last week - that saw me attacked :

"No prizes for guessing the nationality of the vandals."

Sadly the likelihood of the CCP extraditing this individual to face justice is slim to none.

Chinese? Imagine my surprise.

I’m sure the CCP will extradite the criminal for defacing a shrine dedicated to war criminals.

Interesting that when BLM destroy statues of C18th businessmen in the UK, it is fine. Just legitimate non violent protest but when a Chinese student gets out a marker pen, it's the crime of the century.

How about some consistency? Just because you don't like it, you don't have the right to destroy it.

Simply ban him from entering Japan for life.

Yasukuni Shrine, knowing what it represents, is fair game.

Pretty sure he returned home a hero.

It just goes to show how extreme to propaganda must be in China for it to convince a young man that this is the right way to behave. Not making excuses for him, but he is also a victim.

Seems like a pointless and needless source of friction between the two countries.

Why did it take so long for them to track him down? must have known chance as that the perpetrator would quickly leave the country.

I cannot understand why Yasukuni is there in the first place!

This is the result of the CCP stoking hatred of the Japanese. Not good but it will wash off in the rain.

Old rivalries linger on. I'm aware that throughout the history of the Orient, China and Japan have been rivals and even enemies. Not just WW2 either, long before that. Even now.

Still, this is a childish act at best.
