Police in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, have arrested a 32-year-old man on suspicion of groping a 16-year-old girl on a subway train.

The incident occurred on the Higashiyama line at around 8:10 a.m. on Tuesday, Kyodo News reported. Police said the man, who works in the child welfare division of the municipal government, has denied the allegation and quoted him as saying he may have touched the girl in the crowded car but it was not intentional.

Police said the girl told them she felt a man grope her and that she immediately grabbed his hand and held onto it until the train arrived at the next station where she filed a complaint with station staff.

It was crowded, even if she being groped that person not necessary the actual criminal, there are so many hands can reach to her.

This guy is clutching (pun intended) at straws to think he may get away with “may have touched unintentionally” to having a girl grab the perpetrators hand during the grope.

The only way out of this is a pay off to the victim. Hats off to her for having the bravery to do such a thing.

Please enough with the joking, Sexual assault is no joke,

You know as well as anyone that around 98% of sexual assaults go unreported to the police let alone news organizations.

Yes, it is no joke however it doesn't mean that the one is being reported is 100% lead to real groper.

As I have pointed out on multiple occasions, only a few of the many crimes reported every day in Japan actually get put on news sites. This is a minuscule representation of the number of actual crimes.

It has been postulated by the police and sex crimes prosecutors that only 4% of rapes, and 2% of gropings are reported.

This is nothing to brag about to stay the least.

Oh, I see. Sexual assault and rape are not violent.

Apparently crimes that physically harm women, and terrify and traumatize women, are not violent.

And Japan is safe, except for the sex crimes against women, which don't count.

Gotcha.

Police said the man works in the child welfare division of the municipal government.

A target rich environment that gives him full rein to extend his hand of friendship to those deemed in need. Right now he’s probably wondering what all the fuss is about, waiting for it to blow over so he can get back to what he does best.
