I dearly hope this cowardly animal is executed. There is absolutely no way he deserves to be kept alive at taxpayers expense. The worst of the worst maggots in society.

Police in Osaka have arrested a 26-year-old unemployed man on suspicion of fatally abusing the one-year-old son of his girlfriend with whom he lived.

Everyday he saw the kid as a reminder of his girlfriends past.... Girls, you don't need losers like this.

Deja vu.... single mothers should stay away from live-in boyfriends, especially unemployed ones. RIP

Where was the woman all night? Who leaves their child with a bf over night to take care. Already gone from dinner time and not returning till the next day. What wonderful people these are.

This sounds like something that could have happened when I was a kid. Hence, I am compelled to think of it in two ways: This guy is crazy bad. (One year olds who do not make a mess eating are very, very rare.) Considering how I had to grow up, at least the child doesn't have to finish growing up with a bully for a dad. I still today remember my childhood and how it adversely affected, and still affects me. I still have nightmares. I know this is a bad way to look at it but I can't help it. I wish I hadn't grown up the way I did. But, yes, the death penalty is too good for this guy. Life in prison and being beat up every day: that would be justice.

Hopefully this useless guy - violent and unemployed - will be away from the general population for many coming years. No excuse for what he did.

About the mother, I guess she was working something, there is plenty of night shiftwork for women too, like in hospitals, elderly care homes, warehouses, cleaning of office buildings, taxi and deliveries and so on.

I am sure she needs money, as this guy had no income.

I don't understand why women choose such a violent loser who is even jobless as their companion.

There is no shortage at all of young men everywhere in Japan who would never harm a woman and a child, have a regular job with a basic income, but are alone and would like to have a girlfriend.

To avoid any misunderstanding with my comment, I say again, this man belongs to a prison cell for many years to come. No question about that. No excuse for what he did.

We do not know anything about the mother however - my guess is that she was working night shift work, as she was rather short of money - her boyfriend was jobless (likely unwilling to work anything productive), nothing is reported about the biological father of the baby or about if her parents or other relatives and friends were supportive to her.

However when she came back home next day she did take care of the baby and noticed something is seriously wrong with her child and called for an ambulance.

Blame her for what? What else could she do?

It must have been a terrible feeling for her when the truth finally came out, her baby died and this guy was arrested. I feel sorry for her.

It's really rare for me to defend a single mom, the only what I can say again and again, is that women - even if they are in a difficult situation - should choose their male friends nevertheless more carefully and reject such useless men like this guy - jobless, violent, no own home - from the very beginning on.

In her situation, she should have refused to allow him to live in her room, no way to take care of her child while she is out for work. Not even willing to try.

Over and over again and again, working single mothers desperately leaving their loved ones at the mercy of their lovers only to find out that they only needed a warm Psy and a place to live.

Do not expect step fathers to love your children. Best is to raise them to be adults first.

Once again there's another young kid who will never go to school, will never fall in love, will never be real cool.
