Spare the rod, spoil the child, Japanese sure has lots of sociopathic family killing

Yrrral - you’re right, too many intra-family killings.

Rest in Peace to the poor grandparents, probably hoping to enjoy their twilight years in peace.

Hopefully the vicious animal who cruelly stabbed his grandparents to death never sees a day of freedom again. Rot in prison.

"The names of the boy and the victims are being withheld because he is a minor."

Yeah, best not treat him as a murderer and instead just the same as a two-year-old who doesn't know better. He'll be out of a reformatory in a couple of years to do it again.

"His 72-year-old grandmother was also found dead and bleeding....."

Can't be both

The boy has admitted to killing his grandfather with a knife, the police said. His grandmother's death is still under investigation.

Is there just a possibility the grandfather killed the grandmother and the kid killed his grandfather in anger? Sorry, but articles like this are frustrating. But they seem to trigger anger among readers. I think it's better to wait a little and see what info emerges. Meanwhile, perhaps pop out for a smoke and a think.

Strange that the boy was living with his grandparents, while his parents lived in a separate house on the same land. Was their issues with the parents so he moved with the grandparents? I could understand if he was living apart for school or he was orphaned, but with them living nearby, a bit strange.

Don’t let your imagination run riot. We still don’t know what really happened yet.

“Yrrral - you’re right, too many intra-family killings.”

And in any country, most murders are committed by people you know, family members and friends.

There is something missing from the article. Why did the boy NOT stay with his parents? Was there an issue with him? Was there an issue with the parents? Is there some psychological condition going on here? Motive? School issues? Social work involvement? All of the above!

Abe234,

I expect the police are establishing all this now in interviews with the suspect and his parents, school teachers etc.

You surely don't expect the Japan Today journalist to know this kind of information immediately after his arrest.
