But she added that Yasukuni "is a symbol of Japan's militaristic aggression," and called on Japan to reflect on its history to "earn the trust of its Asian neighbors and the international community through concrete actions."

She got that right!

Maybe he thought the signs indicating the location of the restrooms were inadequate?

This is only going to promote the negative image of the Chinese. It's always the brainwashed nationalistic nutters that make these videos to increase their subscribers.

It's a shame because I know a lot Chinese people who have made Japan their home and are wonderful people.

The Chinese guy went a bit too far. By urinating and spray-painting on the shrine’s pillar, he damaged China’s image in Japan quite irrevocably. He insulted his own country with his brutal and mindless acts.

The younger generation of Chinese are becoming more and more extremists, getting toward the level of Islamic extremists. Only a matter of time before actual terrorists attacks could be carried out. Japan government should take the threat in the future seriously.

5 ( +16 / -11 )

No harm, no foul.

It's not the people who have chosen to make Japan their home. They have assimilated. It's the people who come here just to cause trouble.

China should send him to Japan to face punishment.

8 ( +17 / -9 )

An arrogant act carried out by a foreign visitor who should be banned from ever visiting again.

@WiseOneIn Kansai

I get what you say. Some of my best friends, who are also some of the most common sense and respectful people I've met, are Chinese who made Japan their home.

But at the same time I'm not fan at all of Chinese tourists coming from China. They've got fame for being the worst behaved tourists and there are solid reasons for that bad fame. I bet this guy will be treated like a national hero back in China.

Last week I saw a video of a Chinese taxi driver refusing service to two passengers for the whole reason of them being Japanese. And of course, everyone in Weibo agreed with the driver.

10 ( +18 / -8 )

Did we really expect anything else ?

-4 ( +6 / -10 )

…and the Chinese government will hail him a hero

2 ( +11 / -9 )

Sigh....humanity.

0 ( +7 / -7 )

These sort of behaviour is actually getting increasingly common among Chinese. They are calling these action "patriotic".

These is a story early in May. A young staff from a Chinese drinks company that manufactures something called the "Meco" tea printed out some labels with anti-japanese slogans (about the release of radioactive water) and went to Japan and attached them on the drinks in the shops there. Of course he took photos and post them. Did the staff get punished? The CEO of that drink company went to the the airport in person and welcomed him back in China. It is reported he also got a big bonus. Sales increased a lot and many support messages were posted online.

once again the chicom people show to the world, what is their civilization and education level. i dont know about others people, but for me, when i am spending my holiday, i will stay very very far away from them. Sorry i wish to have proper holiday and i dont wish someone coming and ruin everything. When you are going to other people country, learn and respect their culture!!! if not just stay at your own home! even my kid in kindergarten know this golden rule!

6 ( +13 / -7 )

Charming fellow by the sounds... Perhaps in his mind he was marking his territory?

-2 ( +7 / -9 )

…and the Chinese government will hail him a hero

the hero who get his reputation because of urinating publicly under the sunshine...i wonder why they are studying so hard to get into the university, even kids know it is shameful to do so. It is total failure for their education, 5000 years of civilization end up a urine hero

he sounds like he needs psychiatric treatment

5 ( +12 / -7 )

I woud hazard a guess that this Chinese yob only did this in Japan because he woud dare not do the same in China because of the almost total facial surveillance system they have there, and his punishment might have been very severe if he did the same thing in China.

11 ( +17 / -6 )

Might be a good idea to limit vistors from China. Or have them all put up a bond, which they will get back later if they don't cause any trouble. Chinese tourists alreaady have a fecal level image all over the world and this loser just made it even worse. But since he acted on the CCP's official (and unscientific) position on the wastewater issue, perhaps the Chinese government should be made to pay for it.

Come to think of it, I think they owe the whole world some major damage reparations for Covid.

Two pieces of paper with the messages "People of the world, unite" and "But not you guys" in Chinese were also found near a guardian lion-dog statue on the premises.

One piece of paper was found attached to the base of a guardian lion-dog statue, and the other had fallen to the ground after having possibly come unstuck. A passerby called the police after discovering them around 7 p.m. Saturday.

The dangers of pieces of paper with written messages "plastered without authorization".

Then definitely they're not Chinese anymore.

-6 ( +6 / -12 )

Not surprising it was a China man.

How pitiful. I wonder how many social credit system points this stunt earned him back home....

To avoid that and promote social cohesion the nationality of the suspect should not be the focus of the article.

Not surprising it was a China man.

This type of racism is perpetuated when the news media emphasises, highlights, or even mentions a suspect's nationality or ethnicity. This information is not essential for the public and only harms individuals within that ethnic group, potentially disrupting cultural inclusiveness in Japan.

This is precisely what Japan does not need as it strives for greater acceptance in the global community.

Good Lord. Are you aware that racist comments like this are illegal in many nations?

Why on Earth would you want to limit the entrance of all Chinese people due to one individual actions?!

With that logic, nobody would ever be able to enter Japan without 'limitations', and equally, no Japanese person would be able to enter other nations without such limitations.

-8 ( +10 / -18 )

An evil act by a mindless attention seeking fool.

-1 ( +6 / -7 )

A Japanese tourist was seen urinating on the wall of Mao’s mausoleum after writing the word “toilet” on it. He left and returned to Japan.

A Japanese Foreign Ministry spokesperson expressed regret and urged Japanese tourist in China to obey local laws.

”But she added” that Mao was responsible for the death of tens of millions of Chinese then corrected herself by saying that that was a domestic affair.

-2 ( +7 / -9 )

All I want to know is if he's Chinese, and he can write in Chinese, why did he write some of that stuff in English? To make it look like some other nationality did it? That's not right.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

It was a Chinese. Imagine my surprise.

1 ( +7 / -6 )

Just the latest in a growing lineup of doucheTubers getting caught doing dumb stuff in Japan. The fact that he's Chinese is of little relevance. Considering that there are over a billion more people where he came from, one could argue they are, if anything, underrepresented in this field.

About the same level of civilization as DPRK sending bags of faeces by balloon over S Korea.

both uncivilized country, just the difference is DPRK publicly announce it, and the chicom is devil in disguise. Never trust the chicom people

"We would like to once again urge our citizens to observe local laws and express (personal views) rationally while abroad" says a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman.....

Quite ironic really, given that Chinese people are not allowed any freedom of thought or speech when they're back home in China.

This dumb imbecile should try out his graffiti stunt in Singapore or Malaysia - extremely different outcome there for sure...

Name one country besides China. You obviously don't comprehend the meaning of racism.

That’s because Singapore has that authoritarian Chinese element in its government. It works, doesn’t it.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

"Chinese" something to talk about, its obvious from the number of comments. Anytime a foreigner is involved in negative or positive light most often "negative" the post numbers are high in numbers.

I will always wonder if, in the event I ever travel to Germany again, someone in their law enforcement or customs will tap me on my shoulder and want to have a little chat about the time in 1989, while riding my US registered motorcycle there, I blatantly sped past a photo radar site at about double the posted speed limit while looking right at the camera, leaned over in a corner looking right at the camera which was on the inside of the curve, and flipping a little birdie at it?

No matter where you are from, the traditions, customs and culture of the country you visit must be respected..

Respect Yasukuni Shrine..

And get over it..

That gesture means nothing in Germany. Only the US and Canada use that. Besides, the next year West + East Germany unified into one.

Yes it is. Do the crime, do t4he time. Thing is, had he done this in his native China the CCP would've been all over his butt. It would've been much worse for him.

Respect Yasukuni Shrine..

And get over it..

Not until Japan removes the remains of WWII war criminals. Too many in Japan are simply clueless to the grief their nation inflicted on their neighbors or the barbarities committed. To enshrine that filth at Yasukuni is exactly the same as the Japanese urinating on the flags or the faces of the Allies who fought the IJA and IJN. Shame on Japan !

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Not until Japan removes the remains of WWII war criminals.

There are no remains interned at Yasukuni, the belief is that their spirits are enshrined there.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

The Roman historian Tacitus wrote that German tribesmen gave the middle finger to advancing Roman soldiers..

It's known worldwide. And it translates pretty easily.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

There are no remains interned at Yasukuni, the belief is that their spirits are enshrined there.

The names are there and they should not be. It is an insult to those who suffered Imperial Japan's butchery. That the Japanese refuse to admit what they did and atone is a source of continuing distrust.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Not surprised some are defending this man's disgusting act. China itself is one of the world's biggest polluters both within its borders and internationally. The water being released by Fukushima over an extended period of time is miniscule compared to the pollution China generates and dumps into their waters. And enough with the "Japan never apologized or atoned for its past" nonsense. The government of Japan has apologized numerous times to various governments over its wartime past. Twice apologies and compensation were offered to former comfort women. The big irony is that those who are loudest to accuse Japan of whitewashing, are themselves doing the exact same thing.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

But she added that Yasukuni "is a symbol of Japan's militaristic aggression," and called on Japan to reflect on its history to "earn the trust of its Asian neighbors and the international community through concrete actions."

Maybe the CCP should "reflect on its history" to "earn the trust of its Asian neighbors and the international community through concrete actions" since they are responsible for the death of millions because they deliberately allowed COVID-19 to be transmitted throughout the world.

china is responsible for the deaths of millions around the world.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

deliberately allowed COVID-19 to be transmitted throughout the world.

Did they build a shrine for the scientists who created it?

I'm not praising what the guy did but there's nothing honorable about that shrine.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Did they build a shrine for the scientists who created it?

china-nese don't build shrines.

They only destroy them.

Eg, they destroy Urgur Moslem mosques, chinese-christian churches, monasteries and temples in Tibet, etc.

There are videos of the destruction as they happened. You just have to look for them.
