Police in Hirosaki, Aomori Prefecture, have re-arrested a 35-year-old woman and her 47-year-old boyfriend on suspicion of threatening her elementary school-age son by saying they would "gouge out his eyes."

According to police, the two were arrested on Jan 20 on suspicion of assaulting the child by tying his hands and feet, TV Asahi reported.

The woman and her boyfriend, Katsutoshi Takahashi, who is a farmer, were re-arrested on Monday for threatening to gouge out the boy’s eyes on Nov 24.

Police said the the suspects have admitted to the allegation.

As the child has multiple injuries on his body, police suspect he was abused on a regular basis.

Throw them into jail with no suspended sentences. Otherwise, Yua's story will repeat itself and people will be wondering how could this have happened, again.

Two absolute scumbags - not parents - who need to be jailed, and have the poor little boy removed from them permanently.

I just hope the boy is now safe and in a loving environment.

Why wasn't the woman named along with the boyfriend?

I suppose privacy of the victim might be the claim, but if they know the boyfriend's name, I'm sure those around them already know it.

Jail for both scumbags..

Yet another case of mother's new man not wanting the child of a previous relationship "in the way".

Find this young boy a loving home and not the group homes they have.

Find this young boy a loving home and not the group homes they have.

Well, he will need a place of safety/group home/grandparents until they find someone, and secondly, it also means the mother would have to give up her parental rights.

But there is another possible option. Can the biological father be contacted? Here the article says "BOYFRIEND", and not FATHER. So I am left to assume the biological father has no contact. I hope the police or social services consider this option first.

They were already arrested on Jan 20, and presumably in custody, for tying the child's hands and feet. They were re-arrested, which typically means arrested for additional criminal charges, for threatening the child on Nov 24, which one would assume came to light upon further investigation - either from interrogation of the adults or questioning of the victim.

For Gods sake don’t put the boy back with them.

I was always a bit confused the biological father after a divorce cuts all ties with their kids here in Japan. No guarantee the biological father was any better. I'm sure the kid is already tramautized, he should get some psychological help so he doesn't become like them as an adult. Just a sad situation all away around.

Another day, another story about a Japanese mother readily going along with her boyfriend’s abuse of her child from a previous relationship.

What a bunch of followers so many Japanese women are.

I’m reminded of how many times I’ve observed a Japanese women jumping headlong into whatever subculture her boyfriend belongs to. Hook her up with a hippy, she immediately becomes a hippy. Hook her up with a redneck, she immediately becomes a redneck.

It shouldn't be difficult at all, but biological fathers are always completely absent from these horror stories.

So I am left to assume the biological father has no contact.

I think that's a safe assumption.

I hope the police or social services consider this option first.

They should but they won't.

We’ve seen cases, ad nauseum in Japan, where the child is returned to the known-to-be-abusive parents and is eventually killed by them.
