“It's an absolutely astonishing thing for a boy of 20 to have written,” Faithfull wrote in her 1994 memoir.
Mick Jagger doesn’t get the credit he deserves as a lyricist.
Marianne Faithful was absolutely stunning.

It took some time but she became a legit artist with her breakthrough album Broken English. The title track, Ballad of Lucy Jordan, Why'd Ya Do it, etc., cemented her place in British rock. Much more than just Mick's muse.

Sad news indeed and the more poignant as she is/was the same age as me. Both famous and infamous but extremely talented in her own way, I will never forget her and will always continue to think about her on those very rare occasions that I get to eat a Mars Bar.

I often saw her and Mick walking down Kings Road when I lived in Chelsea. He had a house around the corner from me. Those were the swinging times.

Marianne was the iconic muse of Sixties UK Rock. RIP

Broken English is her masterpiece. She played a dancehall in Northern Ireland on that tour -- not the most sophisticated audience. I heard that someone threw a bottle of whiskey at her.

look at all my down votes. What is thatabout? Disagreement that Jagger is a good lyricist? Or that Marianne was stunningly beautiful? Which?

There's a third reason perhaps?
I'm sure you can work out what it is.
