You get what you run your mouth for sometimes.

Who really cares what her opinion is? Shouldn't have any impact on the performance or nomination. Sounds like a ridiculous movie though.

That movie definitely deserves all the nominations. There are no hidden motives or political reasons. All comments about it on the internet are mistaken.

Can’t wait to watch something as deserving and high quality as Lord of the rings!

People from whatever minority are still people of course, with lots of failings.

Being in a minority should make you more attuned to the different forms of prejudice out there, but that definitely hasn't happened here. This person will have soaked up kindness from agnostic and pro LGBTQ folks, but has passed on hate to others. This is as morally bankrupt as anyone who hates on trans.

This film should not be hindered in any way concerning the Oscars. I hope it wins all 13 nominations, thus providing further undeniable evidence, even to Mr. Karla Sofia Gascon, that Hollywood cares more about wokeness than quality.

She's at least learned that what you're allowed to say depends on who you are: movie stars don't have a carte blanche to run their mouth. It's to be hoped she will now show more respect for people's religious affiliations.

Never heard of this chap, though his appearance is strange and appears unhinged.

So she’s trans and anti woke, anti-diversity, etc.? I find that interesting. People just can’t win can they? Her old posts are no more offensive than the those of the folks on here calling her a man. Give trans people a break. At least they use a pronoun! It’s the people who refuse to identify as any gender who started the whole “woke” thing and incited all the anger in the first place by insisting on using “they/ them” as a pronoun!

At the Razzie Awards.

Hollywood cares more about wokeness than quality.

Quality ? Have you guys even watched it ?

She is a transgender racist, a racist is a racist.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

She's not a racist, she's not a bigot, she's not a man.

"her"

Elected Republicans have said far worse, including Trump, over Islam and Muslims and also about Geroge Ferguson. She apologized for her remarks.

The difference is Hollywood is "woke" Trump is "aware"

So the “correct” ideological/political position is key to having the possibility of winning an “academy award”. Who could possibly take these silly “awards” seriously, knowing that?

Emilia Perez was released in August 2024 and there was zero buzz, no media talking about Oscars. It went completely under the radar and was an afterthought. Now all of a sudden it's somehow nominated for 13...as much as Gone with the Wind. Sounds like the Academy is politically doubling down because of the election result.

You mean "awake" and if things fall apart, he'll be away from the fray and just pass so buck for some sycophant stiff can take the blame.

Why do people keep calling it a she? It’s not a she!

It’s a racist pig!

But we are talking about Hollywood

She apologized for her remarks.

He can apologize all day, and that’s good, but that’s not going to change the situation

She is right to not withdraw from oscar contention. Let people decide on their own whether her work was good.

She. You missed the "s". You are the guy who promotes the First Amendment and Free Speech but not in all cases I guess.

I don’t care either way, but I am just saying that the comments he made will hound him. That’s just a fact.

“He” I didn’t miss anything, he is a biological born male that is an indisputable and irrefutable fact, doesn’t mater how your or I feel, that is just the reality. If you are tiny like Prince and tell everyone you’re tall, it won’t change the fact that you are tiny, it is just physically impossible and it’s the insistence by the left which was another reason that got them canceled in the first place. Tampons in a men’s restroom? Are you kidding me? This is just borderline insanity

Under Trump, America will likely return to the day of GAY bashing and hate crime. We could see a federal abortion ban.

I think the opposite, wokeness continues that will definitely have a backlash one way or another on the community, it needs to stop, of course, they all should be treated with respect, but this is yet another reason why the left lost, Blacks and Hispanics are very traditional and they never liked (particularly the men) to have this shoved down their backs, but the left persisted and continued and finally the dam broke, and they all decided to vote Republican or leave the party altogether. That the left would even be shocked that Trump signed an EO to protect women's sports is just beyond astonishing. If the left wants to ever win a majority again, they need to stop this and move towards the center otherwise, they will remain a fringe party.

Not all Blacks, Hispanics, and Latinos voted for Trump. A majority voted for Harris.

Anyway, Both Blacks and Latinos carried Trump over, they were smart and we reeeeally dodged a bullet with that one.

Ya think?

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

wokeness continues

So, it’s not ‘dead’ then. All those people who care about human rights didn’t just disappear or all change their minds?

Well, well. What a shocker.
