I dislike XiXiPee, but I also dislike how dishonest western countries are. You love to outsource your pollution to "3rd world country", call yourself "clean", while ordering billions of billions of soon-to-be garbage from China.

They can only do what is politically and economically viable. Beyond that, the pledges are fiction. Push too hard and they will be dumped out of power, replaced by populist Trumpalikes, who will just absent themselves from the process entirely.

Of course they do. The idea of bureacrats setting artificial numbers for a worldwide geological situation is so bizzare, in a sane world it would not neve have taken off.
