Of course mining is a massive environmental problem, especially in poorer countries with little (and bribable) oversight. But since we need all this nickel, cobalt, and rare earth to have all these wonderful lithium batteries, solar panels, electric motors and windmills built in China to "save the planet", we just have to accept that...
