Prosecutors forced into having to take one for the team (team Japan Inc) by the citizens. Wonder where the Supreme Court will go. Maybe they can hang it out until everyone is dead. Not like that never happened before.

Shimizu, the president of TEPCO at the time of the disaster has moved on to become a director of Fuji Oil, no financial restitution has been paid, and no LDP or government bureaucrats have been named in their failed nuclear policy and oversight. In other words, there has been no real accountability. Even the Tokyo Olympics which was dubbed the recovery Olympics for the Tohoku area was a farce.

"The operator of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant ignored warnings that the complex was at risk of damage from a tsunami of the size that hit north-east Japan in March, and dismissed the need for better protection against seawater flooding, according to reports.
Tokyo Electric Power (Tepco) officials rejected "unrealistic" estimates made in a 2008 internal report that the plant could be threatened by a tsunami of up to 10.2 metres, Kyodo news agency reported.

Very typical for court proceedings to drag out for years; no-one has to be found guilty, and plaintiffs don't receive any damages or compensation. Win-Win for the establishment, a loss for everyone else.

So Katsumata & co got away scot-free.This is what "power" (social not nuclear) is and how it works (not for, but against the people) everywhere. What's "justice" got to do with it? Children should learn these lessons in reality while at school to make for a better, more just society.

He probably died in lavish circumstances, not having to pay any amount of restitution or consequences for what he helped do, and unlike those who have passed after having had to flee their homes and lose everything thanks to this man and his company.
