JGovt solution for all problem, subsidies, subsidies and subsidies.

Why not control the prices instead? There's a lot of corporative greediness in all of these "surging prices".
David Brent
Or you could just, you know, have companies raise wages to a decent level, and stop with this 250,000 per month utter nonsense.

Cut in income tax / raising of tax free threshold would be better for consumers ( but not govt - so fat chance ).

Desperate times indeed, but Govt. energy subsidies easier as global energy markets have sold off in general since Jan, so the subsidies only mean the Govt. will make less money = share the current energy '$windfall'

Cut taxes so that people actually have the money they earn. Trim the fat in the government and government workers. Much of what government agencies can be done by computer anyway. Cut politicians salaries and cut the kickbacks, "¥1,000,000 omochidai" etc.

Why not turn on all the nuclear power plants that were designed to prevent this in the first place?

I mean, anything would be a better idea than ISHIBA giving money vouchers to already corrupt politicians.

Not everyone is an ALT in a junior high school.

No good for me, my summer bills are next to nothing as I spend the worst of the summer out of Japan. Do you think they will subsidize my airfare instead?

Or pay a competitive wage, or allow for more flexible work contracts, or invest more in safe nuclear energy generation and regulation, anything other than more subsidies. Its like each round of politicians just passes the buck to the next round, until finally there will be nothing left but an insurmountable pile of debt.
Chabbawanga
this is a pretty standard wage across many indisutries, and actually high-end in some
Mr Kipling
The median Japanese full time salary for 2024 was 472,000 yen. Almost double your 250k figure.
