The irony, Japanese warship won't able to go to that port if it's not because of China upgrade that port.

That's not the case. The US had previously upgraded that port for Cambodia but with a provision it not be used by the PLAN. New pier, new buildings, fuel storage, ect. Cambodia blew that off and invited the Chinese to make it bigger.

Sakurasaki, not sure what the irony is, you are speaking hogswallop my friend.
This is indeed a very bold statement from Cambodia , and a bit of a slap in the face to wanna-pull-all-the-strings China, and especially the announcement straight after Xi just being there! Never a dull moment.
Quite a move by Japan on the increasing hot regional chess board.
Anyone been following the rumors of the power struggle from within the high level ranks of the CCP? It seems like there’s a lot going on right now. Anything could happen. Praying no idiot panics and launches a war. There’s a lot of movement.
What, with the internal stuff, the tariff situation, economy melt downs , Xi may believe there are enough useful idiots in the world, and that he can rely on the Trump hatred folks for his propaganda machine to get away with pulling the big one in a desperate attempt to stay in power. That’s my biggest fear.
If that happens Japan today, we can all have a think about the roles we played to get here. Harmless rhetoric ? Maybe.

Now watch the Chinese honeypot bars and snack lounges pop up, like in every international naval port of call in Asia.

You can expect the ships to be under constant bombardment of Radiation while there, in order to X-Ray the structure, figure out what’s inside it, etc.
Don’t kid yourself, this isn’t a “Friendly Port of Call”

There is no way to figure out what is inside a ship from outside the ship. In any event both ships are pretty boring from a technical standpoint. One is a simple minesweeper who's total armament is a 20 mm deck gun. The other is a mine warfare support ship that has an Italian 76 mm deck gun that has been around for decades is used by many dozen navies in the world plus a couple of 20 mm cannons. No missiles or any exotic radars. Pretty boring.

Haha, facts!
I’ve been aboard the Hirashima, and I doubt the Chinese really want to know about wooden hulls and 20mm cannon.

Etajima is one of the biggest fibreglass ships in the world, which is vaguely interesting.
(FRP Awaji class minesweepers replaced the previous gen. wooden Yaeyama class about 5 years ago)

Even so, there will surely be a variety of sensors placed below the waterline around the harbo(u)r.
