So much drama. People see worse on tv in the evenings. Gave a few busy body ladies something to talk about.

Sounds like the passengers were happy with it.

Daddio" follows a woman (Dakota Johnson) who takes a cab from JFK airport and strikes up an extended conversation with her driver (Sean Penn) on her way back home to Manhattan — as the two discuss anything from what it takes to be a New Yorker to relationships and infidelity, notably her current affair with a married man. The film carries an R rating for “language throughout, sexual material and brief graphic nudity.”

Yankee movie garbage..

Not X-Rated?

They should have picked Lebowski.

"" Social media posts from users who claim they were on the Qantas flight said they were uncomfortable by nudity and sexting featured in the film — particularly for families and children who were on board. Two users on Reddit said that it was also impossible for individual passengers to turn off the movie. ""

Turning off the screen is easy unless you simply don't know how !? then call on the CA to do it for you.

Snakes on a Plane was not available?

There is a huge difference between choosing to see worse and being forced to it including children.

-2 ( +10 / -12 )

No worries! I'm sure what the passengers were exposed to didn't put a damper on their flight.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

Gosh. Don't let little Billy, on his way to Tokyo, see any bare buttocks or, possibly, breasts. My God! Slightly racy? Give me a break. But it made the news.

1 ( +8 / -7 )

Flew with them to nz this summer from Haneda

The planes were very old, seats small and service very slow

They didn't even bother to give announcements in Japanese.

-10 ( +1 / -11 )

being forced to it including children.

OFF button not working anymore?

3 ( +7 / -4 )

Ooh My Gooooood! Some brief nudity over a very deep discussion!!! My child is now tainted forever and can only be fixed with a 10 milion dolar reward.

On the other hand I have to issue watching "Saving Private Ryan", or other, similar family friendly movies showing American heroism to the whole world...

This is the internet as well, there is no surprise as to what type of weirdos are out there.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Even if the system was broken (resetting the media box should have actually work, if they would have follow the instructions manual), the screens can be easily turned off, or switched to something else, like flight details, outside map, etc.

Seriously, too much exaggerated drama.

Just read a book if you don't like it. Some people are just looking for a reason to be upset.

Reminds me of the spoof advertisements on the radio in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

"Rated R...for retarded"

Daddio sounds like a fun single dad doing fun things with his kids.

Strange they'll pounce on apologising for this but not the price gouging, late or cancelled flights, poor and indifferent on board service from surly cabin crew. That we just have to put up with.

Qantas is a poor airline these days, their glory days well in the past.

"Have to put up with" it? You have the choice of flying with different airlines.

Qantas is a poor airline these days, their glory days well in the past.

Qantas has good pilots and maintenance where it counts, but poor management that's more interested in fawning to the latest cause than delivering customer satisfaction.

The thing QANTAS do really well is coming up with new ways all the time to convince the flying public to choose carriers other than QANTAS. Whenever I fly home to Australia I happily take the longer route with a stopover just to avoid QANTAS and Jetstar.

Again the puritans try to push their view to everybody :-(

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

Next time, have a drag queen read a book to the passengers so no one will dare complain

-4 ( +5 / -9 )

Yeah, people never complain about that lol

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Even 'Touch Screens' have an OFF switch!

4 ( +7 / -3 )

makes the mile high club far more fun

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

Was on a transatlantic flight that had no in-flight entertainment working at all. There wasn't anything the crew could do. They rebooted the system 3 times, no joy.

I contacted the airline after landing to complain and ask for compensation. They added 50K miles to my account.

I never need to see anything with Sean Penn, regardless of rating.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

Need to start flying on Quantas. If you don't like the movie then change the station.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

Evil and filth permeates society enough without this filth being on display to women and children. Heads should roll and compensation paid to the customers.

-13 ( +3 / -16 )

ffs

your comment is way over the top for this situation.

Get a grip.

You remind me of Ned Flanders.

6 ( +10 / -4 )

Ha!

I have a funny story about how my ex mispronounced this airline's name when looking for their Melbourne office.

Furthermore, any airline which has a dedicated didgeridoo compartment on their planes can be expected to indulge in a few cheeky practices.

Guess you've not tried to take a domestic flight in Australia recently. Good for you.

Many passengers asked for an extra blanket

7 ( +8 / -1 )

I didn't even know that there are still planes for long haul flights that show just one film for everyone. No personal entertainment system for the passengers? How old is this plane?!

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

As a result, the crew chose one movie to play on all screens “based on the request from a number of passengers," your telling me the majority of the passengers choose this movie that I’ve never heard of ( I call bull) . There was not anything more popular or recent on the selection

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Agreed. If I'm going to be on a plane for more than an hour, it's going to have a seatback IFE in it.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

How many comments here were written without reading the article?

1) The plane had seatback screens. The system allowing people to choose their own movies was broken.

2) Qantas broadcast this movie on every screen. There was no way to individually turn off a screen (like with safety videos at the start of a flight).

There is a huge difference between choosing to see worse and being forced to it including children.

Was anyone forced to see it? I though you can turn off the screen.

Was anyone forced to see it? I though you can turn off the screen.

As the article read this was not an option

Two users on Reddit said that it was also impossible for individual passengers to turn off the movie.

After determining that the movie was not appropriate for all ages, the Qantas crew attempted to fix screens for travelers who did not want to watch it — but later found that this was not possible

The comment previous to yours makes this same clarification.
