Oh yes, trump's frightening policies are quite sincere.
TaiwanIsNotChina
That's because he graciously waits until the next day before declaring Okinawa the 51st state.
purple_depressed_bacon
The only frightening thing about Trump is his continued insistence on looking like a deranged oompa-loompa. Hard to take someone seriously when they're stained orange and signing off on executive orders to ban paper straws.
Yrral
He using it too grovel up to Trump

Ishiba in full brown nose mode.

The lack of vocabulary and language expression is astonishing. Americans need to learn their own language better.

"On TV" through the MSM's "Nazi" lense
travelbangaijin
I don't think anybody who have leaders that maintains a deflationary monetary policy should be pointing fingers at Trump, just my opinion.

"Americans need to learn their own language better."
We are in complete agreement here; when did 'suck up' enter the general lexicon?
garypen
Fifty years or so ago, along with its variation, "kiss up". Have you been in a coma?
(Although, multiple sources site usage as far back as the mid 19th century.)
garypen
"Television celebrity" pretty much describes his qualifications to be president.
Tokyo Guy
Maybe Ishiba's English isn't that hot, or the interpreter used the wrong word, but "frightening" isn't a word you'd use about Trump, unless you mean the orange makeup.
"Risible", "borderline insane", and "spends most of the time off in cloud cuckoo land" are more apt.
Laguna
The proof is in the pudding. Trump is very frightening indeed.
Slayer
He is only frightening to those who are afraid of being exposed, meaning the legacy media.
Not many Americans feel the same way they felt in 2020. America has moved on,
maybe the posters on JT should do the same.

Oh wow! We're really frightened of Trump (sarcasm). If you really want to know what kind of person Trump is, go to the Micheal Cohen videos on YouTube. He worked for him before and during Trump's first term. That will tell you. And don't just take his word for it. There are others who also worked with and for him with similar stories.

They probably should start by not fleeing to the PRC to live out their days in hiding.

Rational people in Japan and Asia understand that this US administration, same as the previous ones, based on arrogance and warmongering, is not to be trusted.
A new world order based on stability and prosperity will be lead by China. Enough with the hypocrisy and double standards of America

Ishi San, did you get an autograph front The biggest clown of the world??..

The irony of this sequence of sentences is astounding.

Pretty good. He's handed Trump a PR victory while giving him absolutely nothing. Well played sir.

"Ishiba says Trump isn’t as frightening in person as on TV" hmm

The Japanese definition of ‘sincere’ may be a little different from many
DanteKH
If he had to mention that, then this is exactly what he did.
ZENJI
By the time he gets back home, he will have changed his mind.
voiceofokinawa
Enough for personal protocols. We want to know if Ishiba took issue with the unfairness of the SACO implementation and the excessive U.S. military presence in Japan during his meeting with Trump.
Geeter Mckluskie
perhaps a cursory glance at a map and a reminder who Japan’s enemies are might be suggested here
geronimo2006
No tariffs and minority stake (49%?) in US Steel. Ishiba played it well knowing all is good for those who kiss the ring.
Geeter Mckluskie
What does "more then" mean?
u_s__reamer
Well, what's so frightening about a wannabe "Fuehrer" who happens to be an unprincipled coward and an unlettered moron (as noted by many of his former cabinet appointees)? Ishiba's assessment of 45/7's character is right on the money and an indictment of the complicit US MSM that twice kissed his ring and gave him a pass enabling him to evade justice.
Pukey2
I want to see the color of Ishiba's tongue.
shogun36
This is your takeaway from the meeting........riveting, Ish.
Then why even mention it?
What? Where?
Ishiba.........you're an idiot
He probably doesn't even know what tariffs are.
Speed
Ishiba is going to get taken by this aggressive Trump. He looks like putty next to Trump.
J101
If there's a critical situation, Mr. Ichiba could just use Donald's dementia. An aide could bring a fly into the meeting room, and Donnie is distracted for hours.
Ricky Kaminski13
Careful PM Ishiba, you are going to trigger the JT crowd into a sky screaming meltdown with comments like that! Heaven forbids! Hehe

I think you're confusing President Trump with the previous occupier of the Oval Office.

Wrong, bub.
'Very aggressive sucker’: Trump gets distracted by fly during campaign rally – then compares it to himself
It marks the second time in a just over week that Trump has become frustrated with a fly while on stage at a campaign rally
