Show some more strength on this issue now Japan or you never will.

It seems Trump pressures China at lot over more tariff so it gets closer to Japan as good trade partner. As a result, China easily removed that buoy from there.

China is clearly scared of the trade war, plus its increasing isolation over its aggressive policies, support for Putin's war of conquest, etc., so it's playing nice again. What a gracious act to remove a buoy that should never have been there, "consider" dropping its seafood ban that contravenes WTO rules, etc.
Japan should take the easy wins, but not give China an inch, and certainly never trust the CCP. It's all an act until the next time they can ramp up their aggression whenever they're not in such a weak position.

China is like the neighbor who keeps pooping on your yard. But then stops pooping on your yard to show how they now want to improve relations.
stormcrow
They should change the name of East China Sea to The Asian Sea.

Maybe an acknowledgement that Japan will have its hands full with Trump.

China readily reciprocates if Japan does something it likes, or dislikes

Guaranteed, in less than a month or weeks, China will be back to their old tricks with another petty action.

Oh China is still at it. Two days ago Two Chinese jet fighters confronted an Australian recon plane on a routine recon flight in international airspace, with one flying within 30 meters and dropping flares in its path. A blatant attack on an aircraft in international air space.
China has learnt nothing. Removing a buoy from Japanese territory but threatening/attacking an aircraft flying a routine flight nowhere near any Chinese territory.
China is still a rouge nation, acting like pirates and ignoring international laws in place to keep everyone safe.
Do not trust Xi or CCP, do not trust Putin or Russia and now dont trust Trump or GOP.

Again, newswires from the US military dispatches, and by now the usual suspects do not even try to put into context the truthfulness of what they have been asked to forward. With the US administration becoming a joke of the entire world, it is a fact, the usual suspects desperate attempts to incite tensions against China are simply frivolous.
A bit of history lesson here which does not come from the Pentagon, but sourced books.:
Since 1945 the US past administrations have tried to overthrow more than 50 governments, many of them democratically elected; grossly interfered in elections in 30 countries; bombed the civilian populations of 30 countries; used chemical and biological weapons; and attempted to assassinate foreign leaders.
Of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council, who represent the great powers, only China has not fought a war in 40 years. In contrast to China, in the last three decades, America has fought a war or been involved in military actions every year.
Over the years, China has emerged as Asia key trading partners through training programs, infrastructure projects and other forms of cooperation, forging strong ties rooted in openness, pragmatism, and win-win collaboration.
Asia needs shared prosperity and mutual respect, not a one-sided power play. And for sure no need for the warmongering attitude of Washington

The US gets 80 years of history and China gets 40 years. So much for the ancient culture.

You must have a teletype direct from US military to know what their dispatches are.
We dont need one. Nobody's talking about what our ancestors did with their time in the world. When we talk of China we talk of the here and now, what they are doing now, planning now and for the near term. What is with this fixation for what dead people did decades or centuries ago?
The CCP is only decades old, so China's ancient times and history have nothing to do with the single party that rules China now.
Without any actual and complete list I call utter BS to that statement.
And yet it is China attempting to steal international waters and air space, and territory of other nations. Of the five great powers, China by far has the most unresolved territorial disputes including in areas far away from any Chinese territory. In the past 40 Years China has had border skirmishes and used unsafe practices to intimidate and bully a growing number of nations the last of which occurred only two days ago in international air space.
China is no benevolent partner, but a untrustworthy nation that is despised in Asia and abroad.

Fos,
Thank you for your post. China is not the war-monger. That's the U.S.A.
Peter14
Trump is a bit of a warmonger, but there is no doubt China is the biggest warmonger in Asia without a doubt. Attacking planes in international air space with flares yet again proves the point is beyond dispute.
WiseOneIn Kansai
Let me correct the mistakes.
Over the years, China has emerged as a global trading partner through intellectual property theft, unfair CCP intervention in business practices, manipulative trade policies, and forging uncertainty in its reliability as a trading partner as somewhat complex and not entirely without risk.

What's it like in your world? Could we come visit sometime?
Because in our world, China sends its ships to threaten the Senkakus; claims an unlawful 9/10-dash line; illegally occupies and militarizes the South China Sea; rams and water cannons lawfully-operating ships; has an official policy of annexing Taiwan by force, threatens it with military exercises and regularly cuts its internet cables; invades the Indian border; occupies Tibet, etc. etc. etc.
I wonder where you live?
TaiwanIsNotChina
Making things up doesn't make it so. Asian nations fear China more than the US.
TaiwanIsNotChina
Yes you would be excited about US weakness.

A "routine" recon flight thousands of kilometers from Australian territory which entered Chinese airspace. Play stupid games win stupid prizes.
"The Chinese foreign ministry said China expelled the Australian plane after it “deliberately intruded into the airspace of China’s Paracel Islands without China’s permission and violated China’s sovereignty” on Tuesday."

China's been told time and time again that its rocks have no baseline. Also no ADIZ has been declared even if it were worth respecting.

The Chinese government believed firmly that the Senkakus/Diaoyudaos were an integral part of China's territory. So, it was natural for them to install a buoy in the waters.
The removal of the buoy indicates they must have begun suspecting the credibility of their belief.
Kaowaiinekochanknaw
Oh buoy!
