Hava a look at Europe, how it turns out to open doors to Islamic development and accompanying violence and terrorism. China in focus, that's well understood, but surely not at cost of Islamization and potentially being occupied by them as they are geographically very near and have the biggest Muslim population, much more than in the original Arabian peninsula region. And they also aren't aging and shrinking there, so they might consider searching for an expansion. Be warned at early stage and take a lot additional care with those kinds of 'co-operations'.
