Are we here already? Ishiba gave me the creeps from years ago and not sure how anyone in their right mind would think he would have been an inspirational and effective leader. Onigiri stuffing and his dismissive lack of social skills on the international stage may be the legacy.
In fact, I have this sneaking suspicion that collectivist Japan still believes that having someone strong at the helm is not that important.
It is.

I personally find Ishiba's lack of pretentiousness endearing. The call for him to be replaced is not about that. It's about Ishiba's attitude toward the U.S! If uncouth people creep you out, Trump must really bother you!

Aso, Kishida and Motegi had a private dinner together the other night to discuss this subject no doubt. I'm sure they want Takaichi to be the next PM. Conniving and scheming within the LDP instead of legislation to help society.

With Takaichi as prime minister, Japan's period of "fun politics" will begin. Right in time for the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II! Look forward to insensitive comments about China and other victims of Japanese aggression during 1931-1945.
The LDP should keep Ishiba in the top position. Okay, he isn't the snappiest dresser but he seems to be a sincere person, concerned with the welfare of Japan's people. Takaichi will just increase anti-Japan hostility in other parts of Asia at a time when Trump seems to be thinking of removing the US nuclear umbrella from Japan.

Ishiba just doesn't have the necessary charisma needed for the PM position. Surely a smart guy, but nobody can relate to him, especially outside Japan or even inside.
With above, how can he ever get his agenda thru?

A far right kook. Member of Ganbare Nippon and other neo-fascist groups.

And so the beginning of the end of another Japanese Prime Minister begins.

Funny thing is that there are ZERO (0) capable and strong leaders in the corrupt LDP who can be a proper PM for Japan. None.

Takaichi would be perfect at this point.

Perfect for what?
