Japan can join with France, other EU states and Saudi Arabia, in recognising a Palestinian state based on 1967 borders.
Unlike the USA, Japan has a free hand in dealing with the current zionist Israel

What does this mean? "Ishiba told reporters that Israel's move was "totally intolerable" ... Israel survived. Iran survived. Japan survived what happened. Let's hope the world can survive these dangerous times.

Good, it's important that countries like Japan says this clearly.
As Mick says, now Japan needs to pressure for a 2 State solution - and the main party to pressure on this is Israel's primary patron, benefactor and funder - the American taxpayers.
Time for them to call the shots on how and what their hard earned dollars are getting in the ME.

Smart move from Japan, Japan need to cool down the price, that includes oil price. This unprovoked attack just making oil price higher.

Strong message from Japan, but it will be ignored by Israel.
Claire
The country that was attacked first retaliates. A very unfortunate situation but not disproportionate. He is right.

Thanks Trump. Under Obama a nuclear deal was done and Trump out of his hate for Obama and Hillary undid it. This is all on Trump.

Israel and it's partners are keen on a regime change in Iran, this is not just about the nukes, it's about taking down Iran's leadership by crippling its ability to lead and govern by creating chaos then ultimately a coup.

I think it took a while for ME powers to see that Israel/zionists have a deep unconditional hatred for them which is accompanied by classic western colonialism. Some of this things look obvious but it takes a while for those ideas to settle in large swarms. Same happened to colonialism. Most countries eventually realized it but some are still struggling to accept that: example Philipines. Hamas was too stupid to see that. If they were smart enough, they would not have been Hamas to begin with.
So regime change or not, now every single person in ME can see it. No matter what next regime comes up, no one is going to be sympathetic to such a zionist state. And yes, regime change would be good so Iran can get rid of fundamentalist and have more logical and smart persons in power who can actually do something about zionist state if they need it one day out of pragmatism.

.
Good for Japan !
It is an act if unprovoked aggression escalating tensions that can break out in a major conflagration.

Great for Japan..
In the right side of history..

God speed Israel. Hit them hard, fast and then it’s done. You simply cannot talk to those that want and plan for you and your entire nation to be wiped out. It’s rare in this life you get to see such a committed and bold action against a vile regime, Israel’s sworn enemy the Oranian regime ( not the people ) , one that sponsors terrorism and sows so much hatred and chaos in the region and around the world and that lines up so many dark, bitter, lost souls. The desire to destroy the state of Israel has been imbedded in the principals of Irans regime for a long, long time now. Many here would line up and agree with those principles too, though they do not say it explicitly. But at this stage the sentiments are fairly clear. It would be better if you guys just admitted it. Some were yesterday, I even sort of respect that. At least you are honest.
So this is where we are at. It’s an existential threat and Israel had the goods, the will, the intelligence and the balls to take direct action. Any war historian will tell you that these in and blitz strategies are the most effective and even reduce carnage, misery and death in the long term. It’s a gamble yes, and all of the free free Palestine folks, those already keen to riot, and the other mobs brought together by their low resolution grievances and world views will be whipped up into an overweight, entitled, frenzy of emotion. The global left will unite, and it will make little difference to what has occurred. I am even happy for you guys to have found some meaning to your lives. Knock yourselves out.
In the meantime the real business will be done by hardened pros with solid resolution who have their own personal and clear moral integrity in tact. You will hate them for it too, but they are used to that. Plenty of experience there.
Life ain’t a picnic folks. Things just got dialed up to 11.

As for Ishiba who represents a class of politicians allergic to anything but expediency and paltry pretend actions, empty fist pumping gambaruisms, well not much sleep will be lost over his ‘condemnation’ I imagine.

Lets not forget the danger of such an unhinged regime that believes whatever it does is the will of Allah and they will receive their reward in heaven, a mass form of the suicide bomber mentality, being armed with nuclear weapons.
Israel didn’t launch an indiscriminate attack on civilians unlike Iran’s proxies, but primarily a precisely targeted strike on their nuclear production facilities.
Mayhap the strike would have been unnecessary if the nuclear agreement previously in place had still been in effect but the orange buffoon unilaterally destroyed that.
I swear there is a Village somewhere missing it’s idiot!
englisc aspyrgend
Guru Mick, any chance the 2 state solution had was murdered by the intransigence of the Palestinian political leadership long ago (even if we ignore the attempted obliteration and possible genocide of 1948), that boat has sailed. A peace settlement would be nice, but hard to achieve when one side keeps launching missiles from hiding in crowded civilian areas targeting civilian targets in your country.

Good on Japan for their condemnation of warmongering terror state Israel.
Israel wants this to spiral into a full-blown regional war, where they will be saved, yet again, by their partner in crimes, the US.
Best wishes to all in the region trying to defend themselves against the criminal, genocidal Israelis.
YeahRight
And the bumbling idiot Ishiba puts his foot in his mouth again. How dare he condemn a righteous attack against a terrorist nation? Israel has every right to make a preemptive attack before their enemy can put together a weapon of mass destruction. Iran and the world should be praising Israel for their restraint in not using their own nuclear weapons against such a vile
YeahRight
enemy as the Ayatollahs. A regime change back to democracy pre-1976 would be much appreciated.
HopeSpringsEternal
Will Iranian leadership accept not being able to enrich uranium? That's the core issue, clearly Israel and the US do not believe they will, thus this attack taking place.

Trump will find something very negative to say on the world stage of those that have the coconuts to disagree with him. The unsavory and independent of the American people know better, and ignore this roaring mouse... and will stand and side with Japan.
gsa
Yeah we know you get used to it. And there is a reason it keeps happening to you but not Japanese or Malaysians or Iranians. Life is a two way street. You reap what you sow.
I think what we saw is exactly the reason that not only Iran, but also Turkey, SA, Egypt all should have the nuclear weapons. That is the only thing that would check Israel which emboldened by the other colonialist backers. Once the power balance came, a lot of cowards who are very vocal nowadays will flee by themselves and go become someone else's problem as history shown countless times. That will bring the peace to ME again.
Aly Rustom
Nailed it! Couldn't have said it better myself.
Kaowaiinekochanknaw
Nations with nuclear weapons have no right to tell other countries not to develop them.
Nibek32
Bravo to Japan for not supporting Israel’s genocide against people just because they’re not Jewish.

Today Israel is same as Japan back in 1945. It is so aggressive, arrogant, reckless, lawless and dominant. Japan was an only Asian nation for winning the war against Russia which was more powerful, well armed and modernized back in 1904-05. Even US has never had a high noon with Russia like Japan.
Winning that war had sky rocketed Japanese nationalism, pride and confidence. However unrestrained nationalism, excessive confidence and samurai warrior spirit had terrible consequence as well.
It is sad for Japan had suffered the tragedy of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. If Israel will keep expanding territory in the middle east like Nippon back then, it will be possible(unlikely at the moment) for Israel for avoiding cruel fate of Japan.
Yrral
US aided Isrealis in their attack on Iran, for a country that have fought lost causes, since getting run out of Nam, when the US learn it lesson
GuruMick
Ricky, so I imagine you can place your hand on the Iran state based doctrine that seeks Israels destruction ?
I mean , for you , it is so clear BUT WHERE IS THE EVIDENCE ?
There must exist a policy explicitly stating what you assert....or is it "in the shadows "
Now, on the Israeli side their is much evidence they want to destroy Iran....listen to the leading Politicians.
BUT....commentators on things see Israel attitude to Iran as a ruse to cover up zero change in the Palestinian question.
It is Israel in its current political leadership that is lighting fires all over the ME.
GuruMick
BTW....how does the world see Israel now ?
Not good.

Lets not forget that Israel is just as unhinged, its very existence predicated on the fanatical Jewish belief that the Jewish people are entitled to a particular parcel of land by God who long ago gave them his blessing to slaughter the existing Canaanite inhabitants. And this nation state has had nuclear weapons since the last century. Did you ever think that might worry the neighboring countries?
Really?

Do you think history only started on October 7?
englisc aspyrgend Today 08:24 am JST
I say the tension should be brought down by denuclearizing Israel while getting an agreement from Iran not to stop development of nuclear weapons conditioned on Israel's denuclearization—a balanced solution in the interest of peace.
englisc aspyrgend Today 08:24 am JST
Perhaps in Gaza, killed by Israel’s own indiscriminate bombing.
At any rate, good on Japan for condemning Israel's actions.
jeffy
"an agreement from Iran not to stop development of nuclear weapons conditioned on Israel's denuclearization"
This should obviously read "an agreement from Iran to stop development of nuclear weapons conditioned on Israel's denuclearization" or "an agreement from Iran not to development of nuclear weapons conditioned on Israel's denuclearization." If the staff could please edit, it would be appreciated.

Japan's trying to stay neutral, no surprise as Muslim world approx. 2.4 billion people, or +100X larger than global Jewish 'market'. PM Ishiba's just pursuing Japan's Corp. $self-interest, has no interest in Middle East etc.
Nibek32
Duh. The sole job of Japan’s PM is to make decisions that protect its people.
Why would Japan’s PM support a genocide that only hurts Japanese people?
kurisupisu
Israel is clearly the aggressor and has flouted international law.
The reality is that Iran was negotiating, ready to affirm again again that it had no interest in nuclear weapons and was being audited by the IAEA with no evidence of manufacturing for military use,
Conversely, Israel won’t allow outside agencies to perform inspections on suspected nuclear sites in Israel.
Seems like double standards,no?

Stay in your lane, Japan. This isn't about you.
