Donald Trump will be better for Japan and the rest of the world. When Trump was president their was world pease and he had China, North Korea, Iran, and Russia under control.
Do you think it is possible they were just playing nice to see how far they could get with their asset in the WH? Do you think Hamas follows the US presidency that much?
Donald Trump will be better for Japan and the rest of the world. When Trump was president their was world pease and he had China, North Korea, Iran, and Russia under control. Four more years with what we just put up with? Out of control inflation, people say Biden has it under control, but prices keep going up. The border crisis which the Dems do not care about, 10 million illegals in the US and many of them are gang members and harden criminal, and Harris was put in charge of the border.... then the out of control crime in the dem States and Cities. Just think what the US and the rest of the world will become under her. We will be at war if she is elected.
None of that makes Trump a better president for Japan.
It absolutely does
What is Trump going to do for Japan? He didn't do much during his first term.
China would love a Kamala Presidency, it would be like giving candy to a baby. Trump on the other hand is unpredictable and crazy. They just wouldn’t chance it.
What in the world are you talking about, of course it would be him, that’s why half the country is voting for this guy. Not one Democrat has ever spoken about sealing the border completely, not one. Not for wars and wants to solely focus on the US only. Kamala is a globalist, wants open borders and wants to be involved with these endless wars.
None of that makes Trump a better president for Japan. What is Trump going to do for Japan? He didn't do much during his first term.
Trump said "America First", so it can't be him then.

Do they miss things like his staunch support for Israel's assault on Gaza, or his assassination of Qasem Soleimani, or his threats to rain fire and fury on North Korea?
There's a huge difference between rhetoric and action. Soleimani was an isolated target. Compare that with Israel's response to Oct.7. Trump supports Israel, yes. He also wants an end to the war in Gaza. I wouldn't characterize his position as "stanch support for Israel's assault on Gaza".
Trump doesn't want America involved in geo-political military conflicts.
Lot of comments like this from Trump supporters. Do they miss things like his staunch support for Israel's assault on Gaza, or his assassination of Qasem Soleimani, or his threats to rain fire and fury on North Korea?
Though, I will admit, he's far more likely to try to turn the military on Americans themselves than America's foes.
With 23 Nobel prize-winning economists endorsing Harris it's pretty clear: Her economic policies would be better for the US economy, and a strong US economy is good for exporters in nations including Japan who depend on US demand. Strong external demand could support wage hikes and investment in Japan.
My father in law is a rice farmer. With the TPP Japanese farmers and small businesses couldn't compete with foreign farmers and manufactuers who can produce at a fraction of the cost due to their production cost being so low due to their slave labour wages.
Trump scrapped the TPP
That's why I like him. I also like that he is the least hawk-like president in memory. Trump doesn't want America involved in geo-political military conflicts. That's another reason I like him.
As for the Democrats, I don't like how they've weaponized the DOJ, FBI and CIA to use against their political opponents. Like the Russian dossier hoax that was concocted and paid for by the Democratic Party leaders who colluded with the FBI, CIA and DOJ to overthrow a duely elected president. I also don't like how the FBI had close to 50 operatives say that the Hunter Biden laptop was Russian disinformation. I don't like that the DOJ, FBI and CIA have been captured and controlled by one political party to subvert democracy.

North Korea has completed preparations for a nuclear test at its Punggye-ri nuclear test site for a possible test in November, South Korean lawmakers said Wednesday after being briefed by the country's Defense Ministry.
Pyongyang may also launch an intercontinental ballistic missile in November, the lawmakers said, citing the ministry's intelligence.

so for Japan it really doesn’t make much difference, although I would add that considering the fact that *a) no one wants Japan to get involved in stupid/unnecessaryconflicts (andno one wants another WW) and b) the majority of the Japanese population wants Japan to regain a certain independence that has been missing since the end of WWII, I would say that Donald Trump* is the obvious answer to this question.
Don't let the facts get in the way of your fantasies though.
Allow me to cite the previously cited article:
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un dropped North Korea’s belligerent posture and embarked on a “charm offensive” that led to a flurry of diplomatic activity. In the course of these events, Kim publicly stated that he would “work toward complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.” To that end, he pledged not to conduct nuclear or long-range missile tests while dialogue continued and agreed to the “permanent dismantlement” of the Yongbyon Nuclear Scientific Research Center “
The facts are what I’ve referred to. They are not “in the way”. They are “the way”.
Our enemies aren't dumb enough to fall for swagger like the MAGA.
Well Kim Jong Un was smart enough not to antagonize Trump further after his "I've got a red button" threat. That threat resumed when Biden took office

If you think any of those 2 Presidents will make a difference for Japan, you are hardly living in a dream world.
Japan needs it's own strong PM, a PM like the one that took Japan in nr2. most powerful economy of the world. Japan needs to go back to innovate, being a world leader, take risks, not just still live of the old generation's innovation.
Japan needs a strong leader, who will not care who is the president of USA, China, South Korea, etc.
We're told Biden started too many wars and also that dictators aren't afraid of Biden.
Wars started UNDER Biden. No one said "Biden started too many wars". One reason that wars started is that "dictators" such as Putin don't fear Biden, ergo they proceed with military solutions without fear of US intervention.
Would you like me to write that in crayon so you can more easily follow the logic you've clearly missed?
I'd like you to explain what the magic ingredient that induces fear in our enemies is. Is it the incompetance or the chocolate cake?
No contest. Harris is better for every freedom loving nation than Trump who wants to be America's first dictator in the mold of Putin.
Trumps lies have been swallowed hook line and sinker by tens of millions of US voters. A total disgrace for the US education system when a liar and felon can fool so many people so easily.
Lets hope Harris wins and by a landslide so Trump has no leg to stand on for ignoring the outcome. I just pray America has enough sane voters who will put an end to Trump and his disgusting ways. Fingers crossed.
Harris is a empty-vessel puppet that will do whatever her handlers tell her and Trump is an unabashed sociopath with a god complex. Neither are good options for Japan.

Yup, which is why Japan is pursuing positive relationships with countries like the Philippines, Vietnam, South Korea, Taiwan, India and others it shares interests with.
By India, do you mean the country that's a key member of BRICs with China, the large and influential Asian country you deliberately omit? BRICs being the organization Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam and Thailand have become official partners of.
Any bright future Japan may have will not include antagonism to China, especially a US driven antagonism that opposes China mainly as a threat to the US's position as the world's dominant economy and policeman. The foreign policy disasters in Iraq, Syria, and now Ukraine have proved that era is already over.
In one hand an incompetent, arrogant, idiot, egotistical, ignorant, racist, narcissistic and the first former US president convicted of felony crimes and the other a regular political person. The choice should not be difficult for a regular and well balance human.

So, on one side one run of the mill politician with probably lots of hidden interests but predictable and rational, on the other side an unpredictable senile octogenarian that openly flaunts ignorance and deeply irrational beliefs. As long as Japan is aligned with the US there is no doubt Harris is more convenient.
On the one hand, Trump might demand more money to host US military, which Japan does not need (should tell them to go home). But a Harris presidency is more likely to result in WWIII, perhaps with all out conflict between China and Japan. I don't want Japan to be the next Ukraine, so I hope Trump wins.
A Trump win is also more likely to improve vaccine (and med) safety thanks to RFKjr

The above quote is what results when you exercise diplomacy with your enemies...or as some have put it "being cozy with dictators"
How did that work out? Did Biden not send enough love letters?
In fact, there were exactly 27 missile tests by North Korea while Trump was president.
There were two phases of the Trump administration regarding North Korea. The "belligerent phase" in which North Korea were conducting many tests. Trump threatened North Korea with nuclear retaliation...then came the "diplomatic phase"...you know...like getting along with your enemies is not ALL bad. During the "diplomatic phase"...well I'll quote the affixed article "

The former president wanted Japan and other countries to pay for having US troops stationed abroad. He also led people to believe that organizations like NATO have dues paying members, and that myth gives support to extorting protection money from countries like Japan. His lies are dangerous to us all, everyone in the world.
I also don't recal (sic) hearing early warning sirens signalling missiles being fired over our archipelago when Trump was president.
In fact, there were exactly 27 missile tests by North Korea while Trump was president.
Not all of the North’s tests flew over Japan, but some of them did — northern Honshu and Hokkaido, to be specific. A slew came in the just weeks following the (creepily named) “beautiful letter.”
Military-Industrial Complex, a phrase coined by U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower, former Supreme Allied Commander during WW2, during his farewell address in 1961 warning "we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military–industrial complex."
I'm sure your credentials outweigh the former USA president and 4 star general.
He might initially be good on getting Japan to spend more on its military but in the long run, a resurgent russia and China under Trump is going to be a problem.
Trump cut the TPP which was a deal only big corporations wanted. Small manufacuters and farmers were getting screwed. So, I guess it depends if you're a big corporation or a small manufacturer/famer as to who you'd want to win the US election. I also don't recal hearing early warning sirens signalling missiles being fired over our archipelago when Trump was president. They were regular prior to Trump and resumed after Biden took office. So, if avoiding geo-political conflict is important to those of us in Japan, then Trump is the choice...not the war-mongers who are puppets for the Military Industrial Complex
Harris, as she could probably find Japan on a map. I doubt Trump could unless someone coloured the map in for him with crayons and a big arrow pointing to Japan.
Harris, as she could probably find Japan on a map. I doubt Trump could unless someone coloured the map in for him with crayons and a big arrow pointing to Japan.
China being a big trading partner is overplayed. China having been Ukraine's biggest trading partner prior to 2022 hasn't stopped China from supporting Russia against them.
Both Germany and Japan were big trading partners of the United States prior to WWII until political events brought sanctions against them.
Another Trump administration would not be good for anybody, be it Japan or any of the U.S.'s many allies. Not even the American public. Despite half of them being too stupid to recognize this.
He would be good only for Putin and other autocrats since he admires them, and can be manipulated by them into helping them bring down the United States.
Ramping up tensions toward China does not help Japanese people working for Japanese companies trading with China.
Japan isn't ramping up tensions with China, quite the opposite. Japan doesn't claim Chinese territory, China claims Japanese territory. Japan doesn't intimidate China with military threats, China is doing that to Japan. Japan isn't coiied up to pariah states like North Korea and Russia that openly threaten countries with nuclear armageddon whenever their madmen leaders feel like it. China is doing that.
This century will belong to Asia, it is nailed on, and Japan should pursue positive relationships with Asian countries.
Yup, which is why Japan is pursuing positive relationships with countries like the Philippines, Vietnam, South Korea, Taiwan, India and others it shares interests with.
China is Japan's biggest trading partner. Ramping up tensions toward China does not help Japanese people working for Japanese companies trading with China.
This century will belong to Asia, it is nailed on, and Japan should pursue positive relationships with Asian countries. This includes organizations not including the US, most notably BRICs.
Putin's lover vs Corporate's slave. It's a hard choice, but I'd take my chances with corporate's slaves, at least if you do your finance right, no one taking your wealth away or get thrown out a window because you said something they don't like.
Trump is too cozy with dictators like Putin, he'll give hundreds of billions in tax cuts to the upper 1% who don't need it, he'll swing the U.S. into isolation mode, as a result, he'll flush NATO and all else down the drain . . . which is great for Russia and China but disastrous for the U.S.
The only reason people remember a good economy early on with the Trump administration was because Trump rode into the Oval Office on Obama's economic coattails and not Bush's.
As a person, Trump is a liar, fraudster, rapist, swindler, traitor, convicted felon, etc., . . . No doubt about it, Harris is by far superior to Trump in every way.
Ms. Harris is less psycho and is open to re-open the two sides talking to each other. She is considering having a Republican in her cabinet. Less of a focus on the corporations and the rich. Mr. Trump scares the daylights out of me.

Kamala's VP isn't having bibles printed in China for $3.00 each and selling them to Americans for $59.99.

What we have with this election as with the two prior election is a very bad joke by the United States of freedom loving dumb wits

In one hand an incompetent, arrogant, idiot, egotistical, ignorant, racist, narcissistic and the first former US president convicted of felony crimes and the other a regular political person. The choice should not be difficult for a regular and well balance human.

Easy question, even easier answer:
if you want a divider, cheater, insulter, instigator, draft-dodging wanna-be-dictator for POTUS your only option is Donald D(r)umb!

Such as.... Go ahead and tell us the Kremlin line.
bass4funk
Trump without a doubt.
Exactly, Trump is crazy and unpredictable and that’s a big deterrent in itself.

Trump got Kim to end only long-range ICBM testing, i.e. missiles which could reach the continental US.
He did not care if Kim tested missiles which reach Japan.
Now, back to the question, how could Trump be “better” for Japan?
Raw Beer
On the one hand, Trump might demand more money to host US military, which Japan does not need (should tell them to go home). But a Harris presidency is more likely to result in WWIII, perhaps with all out conflict between China and Japan. I don't want Japan to be the next Ukraine, so I hope Trump wins.
A Trump win is also more likely to improve vaccine (and med) safety thanks to RFKjr

You can start a war with someone who isn’t afraid of you, and that’s the most stupid kind of war to start.
thus, Joe and the….gotta go.
TaiwanIsNotChina
We're told Biden started too many wars and also that dictators aren't afraid of Biden. Apologists really need to make up their mind.
Geeter Mckluskie
Kim isn't afraid of Biden. He's like the blue-haired left...He fears Trump
TaiwanIsNotChina
How did that work out? Did Biden not send enough love letters?
Blacklabel
ever heard of General and later President, Dwight D. Eisenhower?
then think, if you can, why would I be asking such a seemingly random thing….

Kamala’s VP loves China, not Japan.

The above quote is what results when you exercise diplomacy with your enemies...or as some have put it "being cozy with dictators"

The former president wanted Japan and other countries to pay for having US troops stationed abroad. He also led people to believe that organizations like NATO have dues paying members, and that myth gives support to extorting protection money from countries like Japan. His lies are dangerous to us all, everyone in the world.
Norm
In fact, there were exactly 27 missile tests by North Korea while Trump was president.
Not all of the North’s tests flew over Japan, but some of them did — northern Honshu and Hokkaido, to be specific. A slew came in the just weeks following the (creepily named) “beautiful letter.”

If you say so.
TaiwanIsNotChina
He might initially be good on getting Japan to spend more on its military but in the long run, a resurgent russia and China under Trump is going to be a problem.
Geeter Mckluskie
Trump cut the TPP which was a deal only big corporations wanted. Small manufacuters and farmers were getting screwed. So, I guess it depends if you're a big corporation or a small manufacturer/famer as to who you'd want to win the US election. I also don't recal hearing early warning sirens signalling missiles being fired over our archipelago when Trump was president. They were regular prior to Trump and resumed after Biden took office. So, if avoiding geo-political conflict is important to those of us in Japan, then Trump is the choice...not the war-mongers who are puppets for the Military Industrial Complex
Some dude
Trump has been to Japan. Has Harris?

I suppose you'll accuse the US embassy of lying, but for what it's worth, there's a link.

Trump has been to Japan. Has Harris?

Yup, which is why Japan is pursuing positive relationships with countries like the Philippines, Vietnam, South Korea, Taiwan, India and others it shares interests with.
kohakuebisu
China is Japan's biggest trading partner. Ramping up tensions toward China does not help Japanese people working for Japanese companies trading with China.
This century will belong to Asia, it is nailed on, and Japan should pursue positive relationships with Asian countries. This includes organizations not including the US, most notably BRICs.
YeahRight
None of the above.

Gene Hennigh
Ms. Harris is less psycho and is open to re-open the two sides talking to each other. She is considering having a Republican in her cabinet. Less of a focus on the corporations and the rich. Mr. Trump scares the daylights out of me.
