Tetsuya Obayashi, a negotiation executive committee member and the chairperson of the Tokyo Youth Union. Amid significant salary increases for full-time employees in this year's spring labor negotiations, wage hikes for nonregular workers, who make up 37% of the overall workforce in Japan, have seen little progress.

And that is why people are really feeling the pinch with these monthly price increases. Wages are stagnant, but only for a small number of workers while the rest are stuck with only rising prices.

Even for those worker who lucky enough to get their wage being increase, it won't offset the groceries items increase. What JGovt done so far? Still keeping rice import tariffs as it is.

37% of the overall workforce in Japan is being put on the back burner? To these people I would say, vote against the LDP.
Anyway, without addressing this issue good luck with increasing the birth rate. Not going to happen.

The Japanese Government methodology was flawed from the beginning. You can't have your cake and eat it too! They wanted inflation, but they also want to protect businesses.

If only these 37% would have the good sense to go and vote they would be quite a powerful force.

It's probably a bit mendoi mate.

A solution is staring these people in the fact- get a full time job.

What do you mean "significant salary increase"???
Is not 20 to 50% yo, it's 2 to 3% increase.
Is that, "significant" ?? :)))))))

The LDP hopes that 2,000 yen bags of rice will secure victory in next month's election. The CDP plans to offer 20,000 yen handouts to bribe pensioners. It's really hopeless.

It's so nice to see you're being down voted here for just telling a simple truth.
