A Starbucks Coffee Japan spokesperson. Starbucks has announced it will introduce location-based pricing starting on Feb 15. Of the chain’s roughly 2,000 stores nationwide, about 600 — mainly in airports and Tokyo’s 23 wards — will raise prices.

I went to Starbucks for the first time in 2 years and was floored at how much prices had gone up! 460 for the cheapest regular coffee! If they're going to raise prices on top of that, hello Doutour (or ANY other coffee shop / kisaten).

the two largest coffee producing countries, brazil and vietnam, have lower yields from drought, disease, soil mismanagement and climate change. it’s not going to get better.
