Lots of exciting baseball action -- and in NFL football too -- helping to keep people's minds off the Nov. 5 election. Sports are the modern-day opiate of the people.

It was a wrap once Fat Joe started singing.

Freeman the MVP of this World Series. The Dodger pitching staff co-MVP, they silenced all the doubters so far.
Shohei a complete non-factor this series, but Aaron Judge was even worse. Both the respective MVP's of their league, shrunk when the light shined brightest on them.
Fighto!
Well done Dodgers! One more win and they hoist that Commisioners Trophy.
Absolute mismatch against the hapless Yankees! Hoping it's a clean sweep!

Way to turn a euphoric moment for the Dodgers into a downer! In all likelihood the Dodgers would not be even playing the World Series without Ohtani.

Freeman is definitely the MVP so far. Talk about a hot bat. Yankees were supposed to have better starting pitchers. Dodgers' pitching has been dominant. The 4th game is the hardest to win.

Looks like Aaron Judge's name won't go into the storied Yankees lore this year. Great MVP regular season but flamed out when needed the most. No shame in getting to the Series.

Has there been a team that overcame a 0-3 standing?

So they'll be far more formidable if they're able to manage his health if there's a next time

Baseball is a streaky sport since they're only batting around 3-5 times per game. There's a lot of randomness involved, so you can't tell much from only 3 games.

The Red Sox came back from a 3 - 0 deficit to beat the Yankees in the ALCS, a long time ago, but no team has ever come back from 3 - 0 to win the World Series..........yet. It ain't over til it's over.

It is not wrong to say that the Dodgers probably would not have made it to the World Series without Shohei. That he insisted on playing in Monday's game shows a lot of grit.

I wouldn't say Ohtani was a non-factor. His double and run to tie it in the first game was a pivotal moment for the series.
And, as has been the case for the entire postseason, the other team is clearly focused on getting him out, switching to a left-handed pitcher right when he's about to bat. I'm sure it's difficult to get into any kind of groove when he's seeing pitches for the first time and seeing them late. But it also messes with the other team's pitching rotation, I suspect.
Definitely would like to see more from Ohtani, but I never expected him to smack the ball around like in the regular season.

Nonsense.
