What a ghastly photo of them.

The photo sums up the turn she took in her career and why her career fell apart. My opinion.

No surprises.

I have no idea who the rapper is, but Osaka won the first four grand slam finals that she contested, which puts her in a very elite group. I think there are less than ten players in the open era (i.e from 1968 to now) who've done that, and only three who've exceeded it.

She's definitely had her ups and downs, but on raw talent you can't count her out.

I guess I am, always will be a simple minded delusional fool.

My parents are my rock, close "relationships", Naomi Osaka words not mine, such love, to create life, a child be so joyful, rewarding, life-changing, represents a bonding for life, expressed by the sanctity of marriage.

*Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful, it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.*

I would rather, personally humbly, Naomi Osaka keep her private life to herself, Oh how sports celebrity yearn to drape themselves in children like pets.

"Honestly really glad our paths crossed because my daughter is my biggest blessing and I was able to grow a lot from our experiences together."

All, as simple minded and foolish, want to celebrate is Naomi Osaka tennis.

I can't say I'm surprised.

5 ( +13 / -8 )

Best thing she has ever done, PERIOD.

-8 ( +3 / -11 )

Not surprised!

Hopefully she will get her tennis skills back and became the greatest Japanese tennis player ever and even the greatest in the world again. She will always be well supported in Japan.

Naomi Osaka is a proven champion.

The four-time Grand Slam champion (US Open 2018 and 2020, Australian Open 2019 and 2021) is the first Asian player to hold the World No. 1 ranking in singles and has seven career WTA singles titles to her name.

It doesn't seem to provide the satisfaction necessary to quell the need to kick the "social media" hornets nest to gush personal private lifestyle choices, almost like a badge of honour.

Naomi Osaka can, I hope will recover the winning form that inspired the success only a nature given talent bestows.

Her chosen nationality, cultural mix is an irrelevance.

The photo is toe curling cringe, however maybe Osaka find that "look" empowering.

Yes Hawk, I try to imagine my "Met Gala" red carpet moment, of fashion freakery, rummaging/rampaging through my closer cluster, of past "fashion victim" horror storied, once recreating uncle/auntie "punk period" catastrophises.

I never could find in "Met Gala" VIP invention, shame Naomi, rapper boyfriend Cordae and I could have cut moves of stellar copacetic chillax on the dance floor........ Ho hum

Hopefully she will get her tennis skills back and became the greatest Japanese tennis player ever and even the greatest in the world again. She will always be well supported in Japan.

Have any other Japanese won a singles Grand Slam? Nishikori didn't. She's won four, which already makes her greatest Japanese ever. The first one was the final with the Venus mega breakdown, which would screw with a lot of people's heads. No one would dream of winning their first title in those circumstances.

Hawk, mint chocolate chip with rotating tennis racquet headdress ensemble, to complement the sparkling polyester, polyethylene court net "body bag" suit combo.

Get on down.

Naomi Osaka/Cordae would be proud, blown away. oh yes.

Sorry, it was Serena, not Venus Williams. This actually makes it worse, because Serena is pretty much the GOAT.

They are dressed like clowns.

The photo is from 2021 when she attended the Met Gala.

Again, the story here is about the split, so why go on about Naomi’s tennis?

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

"The 27-year-old was not thought to be badly hurt, with the Australian Open starting on Sunday."

The hurting might be mental more than physical; and taking into consideration that tennis at the highest level is a battle of mental focus and concentration, then we could see an early exit by Naomi at Melbourne Park...

I'm shocked. SHOCKED! ...well not that shocked.

Remember this, Naomi Osaka has given tennis legends a bloody nose.

Humbly

Jaswinder:

I like Naomi for her tennis talent and her patriotism which is probably lacking in Japanese politicians

I agree that many politicians lack a spine when it comes to protecting the country's sovereignty from USA, but to say that she is a patriot is going a bit too far. If she really were, she'd make an effort to improve her Japanese language skills, which are appalling, she'd talk more about social problems in Japan instead of those in USA, and she'd ditch her US citizenship. The names of all people who have relinquished US citizenship are made public and published on a US government website, and her name ain't on it.

At least have the courage to say you choose to represent Japan because of the sponsorship money.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Her life, her choices.

Why do so many people are interested in her personal life or her fashion choices?

I'm more interested in why did he choose the Japanese citizenship over the USA one?

What were her reasons for it?

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

She is so Japanese in everything she does…..NOT.

greatest of all time? Give me a break. Not even close. Serena win 23 grand slam titles, and that’s the second most. How many more grand slam titles do you think Naomi can win? She can barely make it through the Hopman Cup.

@DanteKH

’money, money, mahhhnayyy”

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

He’s the one who got her into campaigning for BLM and derailed her promising tennis career.

She would pontificate on BLM after her matches and she really looked way out of her depth and floundering.

Btw, the “rapper” seems to be a nobody.

They are dressed like clowns.
