Dems tried to derail her because of Hillary's nasty feud with her, in which the former and her acolytes branded Tulsi a "Russian asset" - one of the most vicious smears imaginable (many senators and others found it troubling that so-called mainstream democrats could label a Lt.Col as this with such ease).

Bottom line: everyone but a few grumbling dems find her a likeable, smart and decent person who sticks to her ideals.

I disagree, she is very qualified and someone new. I know people across the pond who might have a different outlook, but hey, we all have our opinions, and I don't think she was an opportunist in the slightest, the woman has shown more loyalty to her country than most of the politicians in Washington, that alone is a huge plus point.
