"Tehran was "dramatically" accelerating enrichment of uranium to near the roughly 90% weapons-grade level."

Iran has enriched uranium to 60% which does not seem very near to 90%, but what do I know?

6 ( +8 / -2 )

"20000000% tariff on enriched uranium!"

Why negotiate anything at all with Trump? He'll just renege on his word.

Nuclear proliferation is a really scary thought, but look what happens to countries that gave up nuclear weapons and/or their nuclear weapon's program. It's not rocket science...

6 ( +9 / -3 )

In 2015, Iran agreed to curb its nuclear program in exchange for the lifting of international sanctions in a deal with the U.S., Russia, China, Britain, France and Germany. But in 2018, Donald Trump, a year into his first term as U.S. president, pulled out of the pact.

This is the important part and has to be repeated again and again. The only reason the US reneged on this deal is because Trump is a small, petty, pathetic insecure clown who didn't want to give Obama any credit for anything (out of pure jealousy).

5 ( +11 / -6 )

There was a deal, a treaty even, signed by the US.

Trump threw it out the window.

Why would Iran give Trump a bleeding moment of its time.

9 ( +11 / -2 )

Trump is oblivious to how Putin plays him. Kind of funny, but mostly sad.

2 ( +7 / -5 )

"Sad Trump "....could make a good doll....

Despite the attempts to define medium enriched uranium as 'almost weapons grade', it remains two important technological steps below that. (There's a reason why America's nuclear weapons scientists set up the 4 divisions with the specific thresholds they did, and the declassified papers they put out hints that it was because there were limitations to how far an enrichment process could be pushed before what it produced wasn't useful anymore)

So if medium enriched uranium cannot be used to even trh and make nuclear weapons from, who make it? Because it can be used to make nuclear energy reactors small enough to fit into ships, making them a greenhouse gas free way of shipping bulk goods and containers from port to port. It can also be used to build 'breeder reactors' that are 'hot' enough to produce useful quantities of isotopes useful in more advanced medical and industrial processes than the ones possible with the products of a 'cooler' low enriched fueled breeder reactor.

But the International Atomic Energy Agency warned last month that Tehran was "dramatically" accelerating enrichment of uranium to near the roughly 90% weapons-grade level.

Facts are facts.

The U.S can never be trusted. They negotiate with a dagger behind their back

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Dee Zee..Trump is too stupid to be trusted with a "dagger behind his back "

Have you seen pics of him in "golf wear shirts " ?

He couldn't reach around to scratch his butt, let alone produce a dagger .

"Behold..I have a weapon "

Othello's last speech....

Trump... "Behold ..I have a tariff "

Trump hates Iran similar as how China hates Taiwan,so there is no way to solve the crisis peacefully!

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Trump destroyed the nuclear treaty already in place with Tehran, and now realizes he made a big mistake.

During his first four years in office Trump hailed the brilliant trade treaty he made with Mexico and Canada. Now he shouts that whoever made that treaty was an idiot.

The US is being led by the worst kind of idiot, who constantly changes his convictions, bringing destruction to everything he touches.

Pulled out of the pact Because The FOX of the middle east wanted a different deal.

And there you have it Folks.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Soon after Trumps assassination attempt the FOX of the middle east propaganda machines immediately and within 12 hours went to work and started claiming the shooter was drafted and paid by Iran, but soon after U.S. intel proved them to be FALSE and flat out LIES.

Bit of a problem for Trump if he wants to bully Iran but Russia and China back it. He always gives in when there is pushback, which is why Iran told him where to go. No doubt he will go and find another bogeyman.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Trump should be the last person in the world to be involved in world's affairs. ZERO credibility. Only technique he knows/uses are threads/tariffs. Well threads, no body cares. Tariffs, he and his country can do whatever it pleases. The world can live without him/America, perhaps, happily.

I guess Iranian people are used to sanctions and other silly threats.

I encourage people to use the various western media visiting the nation for culinary and other ideas.

Seems a pretty cool nation....women are pretty beautiful in general...men friendly...

It is interesting that of all the 'Iran experts' our media relies on to 'inform' us about what the Iranian population is feeling, someone from the Canadian company Iranpoll, which actually ASKS a broad swath of the population of Iran what they are feeling has never, as far as I've seen, been the expert. That what their polling shows the Iranian people are feeling is much different from the claims of those 'Iran experts' might be the cause of them not getting media attention.

Iran will give in; only a matter of time.

Many people don't seem to understand why Trump made the Ukraine peace agreement and wanted Putin, who has influence over Iran, to mediate on Iran.

Unlike Biden, Trump is not incompetent.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

Of course. Criminal countries need to stick together.

There is no agreement yet...

Of course. Criminal countries need to stick together.

Like US and UK for example..

History demonstrate it..

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

TaipeiIsChina, you're right, the criminal countries (the accomplices to the genocidal war against Palestinians and the genocidal war against Iranians, and the overthrow of the last democratically elected government a united peaceful Ukraine had, the theft of billions from the population of Venezuela ...) are sticking together. The thing is, so are the countries of the civilized world (BRICS et alia)

There is nothing civilized about Gang of Thieves BRICS: they don't even have a mutual defense pact because two of them are enemies.

Trump doesn't have a Ukraine peace agreement.

and wanted Putin, who has influence over Iran, to mediate on Iran.

Well he miscalculated that massively. Russia are backing Iran.

The thing is, so are the countries of the civilized world (BRICS et alia)

Invading Ukraine is hardly civilized.

On a scale of 1-100 where does genocide rate?

Intervening in civil wars?

Funding the creation of alQeda?

Funding the people who became ISIS by refusing to accept their paymaster orders?

Trump hates Obama and Biden. He doesn't can right or wrong , he just scrap everything related from them!

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Let's hope Trump can pull off a GRAND Diplomatic Bargen with both Russia and China in order to keep Iran from going nuclear like NK. Stakes are VERY High, darn good think bumbling Biden Admin not still in office!

DJT views Iran 'situation' as potentially existential and the BIG reason he wants madness in Ukraine ended. Until Ukraine war ends, Iran's got a free pass, and thus no chance Russia and China will play geopolitical ball with DJT.
