Both are looking for jobs in Trump's cabinet/government.

13 ( +17 / -4 )

Yep there’s the needed unity.

uniting behind and following Trump, our leader.

-7 ( +9 / -16 )

I would hire Nikki Haley, why not if it helps my presidency I would find a cabinet position for her if she wanted it, if not, then she should go back to corporate

What an utter and complete clown show...it would be comedy gold if it wasn't showing everyone what a dire threat to democracy the Repubs are...

Well, it will be entertaining to hear Trump introduce each of these former opponents;

"Ladies and gentlemen, let's hear it for the guy that brought "misery and despair" to all Floridians. Who turned it into "one of the worst states in the US". And let's not forget, was an expert in "grooming" young high school girls. Yes, it's Ron DeSoros!"

"And now the lady that failed to secure the Capitol on Jan 6th. Who is nothing but a weak RINO. Who is not a real American but an immigrant who is ineligible to run for President. Let's hear it for Nikki Pelosi!"

"And finally my hand-picked VP - the guy that compared me to Hitler, JD "Jack Daniels" Vance"...

I hear Mike Pence was thinking of attending but the Secret Service refused to search everyone in the crowd for nooses...

Haley, who had described Trump as unelectable and unfit for office during her campaign, nevertheless urged her supporters to vote for him over Democratic President Joe Biden "for the sake of our nation."

Probably a more significant portion of the nation believes for the sake of our nation we must stop convicted felon, fraudster ,authoritarian and corporate stooge DJT.

And they would vote for a comatose Biden over Trump.

That is the 2024 duopoly conundrum.

In terms of stimulating turnout which will be key Trump may have the advantage given recent events.

The Dems are understandably fractured.

As a reminder, both parties neo-lib consensus gave rise to populism and Trump.

Whats the opposite of "Rats fleeing the sinking ship "

Stalin would be proud of Trump's ability to get everyone to kowtow to him.

3 ( +12 / -9 )

What do these people believe in really? Where is their integrity? Hell, some of them have even been emasculated.

4 ( +11 / -7 )

unity in trying to create a theocratic fascism with a hypocritical dear leader who wants to be an autocrat.

mandatory bible reading in classrooms, 10 commandments in classrooms (trump has broken most of them), unequal justice, corrupt supreme court members, promises to scuttle all environmental rules in exchange for $1billion in campaign funds from businesses, promises to illegally deploy the military to quell dissent, extreme nationalism that will only destroy trade.

he accomplished nothing in his previous term, except explode the national debt and make a mockery of the office.

and now surrounded by insurrectionist disciples who who tried, but failed to execute a coup with false electors, false ballots, lies and a violent attack on the us capitol to deny the election process of the nation.

insurrection, sedition and an attempted coup. i'm sick of insurrectionist fascists wrapped in a flag who support and defend everything the nation was not established to be. they should be ashamed of themselves.

Trump was caught sleeping for about 2 or 3 minutes on the first day of his convention, and the funny part the camera person did not move, and comments like "is he still alive". No one around him it appears dare wake him up and ruffle his feathers.

Now back on topic, I wonder if he was awake when these toads were sticking out their tongues for him to pop flies on them to reward them for sucking up to him.

Truly, he is a disgusting and appalling man, with his felonies, associating with a pedophile on numerous occasions, associating with a fascist group who wishes to attack minorities, a man who has cheated on all 3 wives the list goes on.

GOD BLESS AMERICA and I pray that Trump does not get into office again.

This is the problem with hyper-partisanship. Even when someone is completely wrong, corrupt, and convicted of crimes.... the "party" ignores it and stands behind to prop it back up to show "solidarity". Instead of saying, "hey, you're a terrible person... we don't want you to represent us AT ALL!" They instead say, "Oh, nothing is wrong. Keep doing all the corrupt, wicked, deceitful behaviour and actions up... We'll stand by you!"

Enabling at it's finest. Only problem is, it is not only destructive to their own integrity... but it will take the rest of the country down with them!

The GOP is for sale, and will gladly put the rest of the US up for sale to the highest bidder to satiate their greed and lust for absolute authoritarian power.

Blacklabel

Yep there’s the needed unity.

> uniting behind and following Trump, our leader

If Trump wins, he will be the president of all Americans. A president is there for the people, not the opposite, and should not be seen as a "leader" in a cult-like manner.

Unfortunately, there will be no national unity.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

uniting behind and following Trump, our leader

Trump has only one criterion- kiss the ring, delete your spine.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Flip flop flip flop

Yup, she's that and a sellout, too.

show of unity at Republican convention

Oh, yes. There's plenty of unity at the RNC Convention. There was unity in watching Trump sleeping, on the big screen. There was unity where Matt Gaetz was behaving like a child with Kevin McCarthy. There was unity when Speaker Mike said before the convention that Biden couldn't speak without a teleprompter, while at the convention, Mike's teleprompter when out of order while he was in the middle of introducing the Attorney General, but later abandons the intro. and walks away. And there was unity where Giuliani fell drunk on a few seats on the floor and needed help by a few officials there. Check for yourself. It's all there.

4 ( +8 / -4 )

Trump has only one criterion- kiss the ring, delete your spine.

That goes for every leader, you serve at their pleasure, it’s in the job description

Lol no

Probably a more significant portion of the nation believes for the sake of our nation we must stop convicted felon, fraudster ,authoritarian and corporate stooge DJT.

Not big enough to matter or hurt him in the polls

And they would vote for a comatose Biden over Trump.

That gap is narrowing and the Dems are treading water

That is the 2024 duopoly conundrum.

Why, I’m happy

In terms of stimulating turnout which will be key Trump may have the advantage given recent events.

Seems like it’s going all in his favor.

The Dems are understandably fractured.

Yes

As a reminder, both parties neo-lib consensus gave rise to populism and Trump.

Very, very true.

@ Christopher 2.01pm

So you are comfortable for Vince the chameleon to hop on board the power train. He is a hypocrite of the highest order. So he served in the Marines, had a poor upbringing. Well so did millions of other Americans and the difference is they have integrity and do not compromise their principles.

Donald Trump Does Not Get Post-Shooting Poll Boost

Donald Trump has not received a poll boost in the first presidential election survey conducted since the failed assassination attempt on Saturday.

Can't expect republicans to stick to their principles if they want to work with trump- that's true enough.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

What I like about watching this week's RNC is how much Diversity, Equity, and Inclusiveness it is showing...

Diversity: You have MAGA-cultists, you have RINOs, you have Globalists, you have White Supremacists, you have Neo-Nazi's...it's a diverse showing of deplorables...

Equality: All minorities, women, and LBGTQ people are treated the same - like dirt...

Inclusiveness: You can call Trump an "idiot", a "Loser". a "sniveling coward", "unit for office", and compare him to "Hitler" and you're still welcome...

Who would have thought - a "woke" RNC convention...

ROFL...

Give it a few weeks, the results we won’t know for awhile, but for now what we do know…

Wait and the Dems have principles???

-7 ( +4 / -11 )

Flip flop flip flop

To be fair, both sides do this when running as candidates. Harris had digs at Biden etc.

The JD Vance thing is more confusing. He didn’t run as a candidate against Trump yet launched terrible vitriol at him - as bad as any partisan Democrat.

He thinks Trump went from rank stupidity to intelligence.

Bizarre. That is beyond a flip flop.

5 ( +10 / -5 )

I knew Haley had no principles but this really takes it to new heights.

6 ( +9 / -3 )

@wallace, Na, she is fine right where she is in her Governorship with S.C.

She is making a real difference in South Carolina especially with flooding issues and areas in the state.

Can anyone break the news to Christopher that Haley hasn’t been the guy of SC since 2017?

I’d like to, but I’ve heard that it’s dangerous to shock anyone who has just come out of a coma.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

If Haley ends up back at the UN, it will be interesting to hear that mouth explain that Russia is not a threat anymore.

3 ( +7 / -4 )

What I like about watching this week's RNC is how much Diversity, Equity, and Inclusiveness it is showing...

Yes, a lot of minorities

Diversity: You have MAGA-cultists, you have RINOs, you have Globalists, you have White Supremacists, you have Neo-Nazi's...

All Americans black, Latino, Asian etc.

it's a diverse showing of deplorables...

Like Hillary said, she coined the word

Equality: All minorities, women, and LBGTQ people are treated the same - like dirt...

It’s what Democrats do

Inclusiveness: You can call Trump an "idiot", a "Loser". a "sniveling coward", "unit for office", and compare him to "Hitler" and you're still welcome...

More baseless words

Who would have thought - a "woke" RNC convention...

Ahh, but we can define a man in a woman, your party can’t for some reason

ROFL...

I knew Haley had no principles but this really takes it to new heights.

Funny, and still doesn’t come anywhere close to Adam Schiff

Wait and the Dems have principles???

You know, like "Life begin at conception - a principle we will never surrender! Well, maybe after thinking it over, killing babies until the 15th week is OK"....

Welcome to principle-less MAGA-world...

You're deflecting because you can't deny it.

He thinks Trump went from rank stupidity to intelligence.

He got to see and to know the man, when you meet people that happens perceptions can change, are used to think Obama is a smart guy, but then…

Bizarre. That is beyond a flip flop.

No, people can have a change of heart, once you start listening and looking at the facts, he’s human, nothing bizarre about that

You're deflecting because you can't deny it

No, not my style.

-7 ( +4 / -11 )

If Haley ends up back at the UN, it will be interesting to hear that mouth explain that Russia is not a threat anymore.

She won’t, no worries

-6 ( +3 / -9 )

That goes for every leader, you serve at their pleasure, it’s in the job description

No, it doesn't.

Congress is a separate branch of government from the Executive. Senators and Representatives do not serve "at the pleasure of" the President.

I understand the need for party unity on key issues, but the GOP has now become the party united by an unquestioning loyalty to one man. Just read the comments by the MAGA faithful here, and the lickspittle adoration of DJT.

That's just plain dangerous.

BINGO! All uttered by Repubs toward Trump...

Man - Trump. Woman - Stormy. Result - 34 felony convictions... ROFL...

Then don’t take the job

Your understanding of American government needs a bit of refreshing. Congress is meant to work constructively with the Executive, and when necessary a check on its power. Congress is not "a job" appointed by the President.

4 ( +8 / -4 )

I wished they had more articles on Biden (good or bad) than Trump.

Trump supporter or not, I think we heard enough of him.

Who's the current president of the United States?

We barely see anything on him these days...

Give the spotlight back to the current President!

2 ( +6 / -4 )

No, it doesn't.

Do Dems know this???

I understand the need for party unity on key issues, but the GOP has now become the party united by an unquestioning loyalty one man.

Loyal to America, just Trump is the leader of that movement.

Just read the comments by the MAGA faithful here, and the lickspittle adoration of DJT.

Yup!!

That's just plain dangerous.

Ahhh, so we should be loyal to the globalists? That’s how we got our country into a mess in the first place

-8 ( +3 / -11 )

Your understanding of American government needs a bit of refreshing.

Nope

Congress is meant to work constructively with the Executive, and when necessary a check on its power. Congress is not "a job" appointed by the President.

Tell Joe, he wants to screw with the Supreme Court? He is not listening to you.

-8 ( +3 / -11 )

--Congress is a separate branch of government from the Executive. Senators and Representatives do not serve "at the pleasure of" the President.

Do Dems know this???

You obviously don't. You said previously that Congress serves at the pleasure of the President.

Now you're accusing Democrats of thinking so (which they don't)?
