The whole Middle East is circling the drain...
Chabbawanga
Surprised they did this pre-election

The arms manufacturers are getting lots of business thanks to these folks.

These conflicts all over the globe explains how the stock markets in the US are on all time high. The top 5 arms-producing and military services companies in the world are all American, in order: Lockheed Martin Corp, Raytheon Technologies, Northrop Grumman Corp, Boeing, General Dynamics Corp

It was widely predicted they would. They want to influence the result. Its actually a choice between completely pro-Israel and completely and unbelievably pro-Israel (Trump), and they want the latter.

Israel starting war with Iran and where are the US president and VP?
beach and a Beyoncé concert?
Fighto!
Starting wars? Israel is retaliating against Iran's attacks. Have you not been following the past few months?
Why am I not shocked you are taking the Iranian side?
NB
Israel limits itself to the Iranian ballistic missiles industry. Iran sent two barrages of hundreds of big ballistic missiles to kill the civilian population of Israel last April and in this month of October.
Hello Kitty 321
Israel attacked first so it is not “hitting back” it is “escalating”

Keep repeating an "eye for an eye" and both parties eventually wind up blind.

why am I not shocked you are focusing on one word and deflecting away from where are our President and VP while this is happening?

Perfectly timed to push this middle eastern conflict to the top of US 2024 election agendas
Candidates will be probed for a foreign policy statements, expect top tv media coverage.
Both campaigns will face harsh scrutiny, support Israel right to exist, to retaliate, or be accused of siding with Iranian sponsored terrorism.
Kamala Harris campaign will be put on the spot, soft on illegal immigration, soft on middle eastern Iranian sponsored terrorism?
Ten days before a US election.
If Iran responds retaliates, how will Joe Biden/Kamala Harris calls for a ceasefire be interpreted?
This strike on Tehran is provocative
I am back in UK, 3:40 am, breaking news on steroids.

Do Iran’s air defense systems not work very well or are they holding them in reserve, knowing that this is going to be a marathon and not a sprint? Just one of many questions that spring to mind.
NB
The Jews will not die alone.

Fighto! Actually, Iran was retaliating against Israel's attack. It seems you are being very selective about the months or just weeks you have chosen to follow.
Does anyone actually believe every attack by Israel is defensive and every attack by Iran is an escalation?
Does anyone actually believe Israel is the only country with a right to defend its borders, borders which it is trying to increase?

Nothing of the sort. I have been listening to a live coverage, and they have been selectively bombing Revolutionary Guard stations and their weapons storage. Unlike the crapshot attacks that Teheran launched at Tel Aviv, btw.
We might get still Slaughterhouse 5, but this is still very much tit-for-tat.
Why always just to the strongest terms immediately?
NB
The slogan being shouted in the streets of Tehran is "death to Israel". There is no Israeli parallel to that.

Fact check: Israels borders have consistently shrunk since the 1967 war.

The only benefactors, very unfortunately, but yet again are the nations that support their industries and markets by producing and selling weapons of human destruction. We all pay for this in our taxes wherever we reside??

Maybe Trump told Bibi that if he caused a world crisis two weeks before the election he would then give him 4 years to do as he pleases?
Aly Rustom
Exactly.

So, basically Netanyahu's latest and biggest attack on Iran resulted in a fireworks display in the skies of Tehran (no fast moving brightest lights ending in blooms of fire that seems to be the hallmarks of hypersonic weapons making successful strikes) and fizzled as badly as Netanyahu and America pretended the Iranian response to Netanyahu's precious attacks did, despite the presence of those fast movers and blooms.
Will Iran scrape up one more bout of strategic patience (maybe helped by a private assurance from the highest ranking UN representative that the delays at the ICJ and ICC will coincidentally disappear after the American election, and the American government's signaling it will be sanctioning Israel on the same schedule).
Will Iran respond to Netanyahu's biggest attack on Iran with another 'precision' SUCCESSFUL counterattack on militant bases?
Will the attempts to manufacture a media victory for Netanyahu work?
Time will tell.
Chabbawanga
Absolute hogwash. Iran targetted Israeli military sites.
Chabbawanga
It wouldnt surprise me, but not much of an incentive when the current administration has had the exact same policy albeit caveated with consistent urges
bass4funk
That’s hogwash if you believe that.
NB
GDBD replied to my claim, which states "The slogan being shouted in the streets of Tehran is death to Israel. There is no Israeli parallel to that" by saying as follows: "Lies. Israeli occasionally chant these against Arabs. Just google it. Also they do more than that, they actually kill them too, in large number, indiscriminate, babies, kids, women, and in a very inhumane way. Zionist way."
These are the lies. Israel, as a state, has never cultivated such slogans that call for death to other nations.
I would like to remind that Hamas perpetrated undescribable deliberate atrocoties to babies, kids and elderly people, women and men.
NB
I would like to add that keeping civilian hostages, including babies and kids, is a war crime.
Dango bong
Yes I am sure Hamas was trying to boost the US economy when they started all of this
NB
The solution for the Middle East crisis is coexistence between the Palestinian Arabs and the Israeli Jews. It should be an equitable coexistence wherein both nations can feel secure, fulfill their sentiments towards the land as much as possible, and enjoy enough space for agriculture, housing and economy. At the present moment there are two nations on the land: The Palestinian Arabs and the Israeli Jews. Any solution must take into account the needs and the rights of these two nations.
Dango bong
No civilized people take hostages. Until Hamas and Hezbolah are eliminated Israel has a blank check to eliminate these terrorist insects

Israel currently has 9440 Palestinians in prison.
In the occupied Palestinian territories, one in every five Palestinians has been arrested and charged at some point. This rate is twice as high for Palestinian men as it is for women – two in every five men have been arrested and charged.
There are 19 prisons in Israel and one inside the occupied West Bank that hold Palestinian prisoners. Israel stopped allowing independent humanitarian organisations to visit Israeli prisons in October, so it is hard to know the numbers and conditions of people being held there.
Palestinian prisoners who have been released have reported being beaten and humiliated before and after the start of the war on Gaza on October 7.
About 3,660 Palestinians being held in Israel are under administrative detention. An administrative detainee is someone held in prison without charge or trial.
Neither the administrative detainees, who include women and children, nor their lawyers are allowed to see the “secret evidence” that Israeli forces say form the basis for their arrests. These people have been arrested by the military for renewable periods of time, meaning the arrest duration is indefinite and could last for many years. The administrative detainees include 41 children and 12 women.
Netanyahu and his dogs in the IDF have no moral high ground.

"Israel hits back at Iran, Syria with strikes on military targets."
Whoever sees this escalation as between Israel and Iran, I'm telling you that is just part and puzzle of the case. This is the Third World War in the making. Perhaps you already heard Kim's San the Military is foot on the ground in Russian soil. This war was avoidable but due to arrogance and ignorance of men and women, you reap what you sow. And the harvest will be global collective punishment.
Tamarama
You need to have been following a lot longer than the past few months to have a good grasp of what the real origins of this widening war is, which is primarily the responsibility of the US and Israel. The US has armed (and terrifically profited from) Israel, has protected and enabled it in the UN for decades, and is now actively trying to deter intervention from anyone else as Israel goes on an unhinged murder spree that has the likes of Iran saying: enough is enough.
This is on Israel and the US. American citizens should feel deeply embarrassed and shamed by what their country has done in the ME.
Attilathehungry
I support the country that has civil rights, rule of law, and protects minorities and the LGBT community. There is only one country like that in the area.
I also support a free Palestine. Free of malign Iranian influence. Free of terrorist proxy armies. And also becoming free socially and politically, as Israel is.
NB
funkymofo justifies the keeping of civilian hostages by saying that Israel currently has 9440 Palestinians in prison.
The Israeli citizens that were kidnapped from their homes during the masscre of October 7 2023 include children, women and enderly. Many of them, if not all, have been already murdured in the tunnels. As far as some of them are still alive, do not receive food, sufficient and clean water and medications. The Red Cross does not visit them. These are ordinary people - they are not indicted terrorists.
NB
Moreover, the Isareli hostages kept in the tunnels. as far as some of them are still alive, are kept in darkness, are tortured and are sexually abused.
TaiwanIsNotChina
The likes of Iran are terrorist supporting states. That enough to make me not feel to bad about supporting Israel.
NB
The Israeli nation extended its hand three times to the Palestinian nation, in a bid to settle the conflict and to establish peace based on two states coexisting side by side, with the state of Israel being a partnership of Jews and Arabs. The Palestinians, inspired by their extremist leadership, responded three times with a refusal, and with an attempt to wipe out the Jews from the land.
The first such cycle: The Palestinian rejection of the UN General Assembly resolution from 1947 to establish two states, A Jewish-Arabic state and an Arabic state, and the launching of the disastrous 1948 war.
The second cycle: The two nations embarked on the Oslo path in the 1990s. But then, in the year 2000, Arafat changed his mind, made a U-turn and launched a campaign of terror, wherein buses exploded in the streets, cafes and restaurants were exploded, and a massacre was committed in a hotel where elderly people gathered for the holiday.
The third cycle: Israel applied for Saudi mediation in the 2020s. Hamas decided to thwart the mediation effort made by Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Hamas launched a large-scale massacre and a war on October 7 2023. Lebanon joined the next day. All of this was done with the support and under the control of the Mullahs regime of Iran.
funkymofo
I justified nothing- I just pointed out the hypocrisy of your position.
NB
The hypocrisy belongs to those who call for committing genocide to Israel, but at the same time present theirselves as victims.
NB
Sorry, should be "themselves".
funkymofo
More women and children killed in Gaza than in any other recent conflict in a single year, 6000 women, 11000 children- Oxfam.
IDF bombing schools, hospitals, aid distribution areas every 3 hours- Palestinian people forced to live in the world’s largest open air prison, killed/ forced off their own land, water supply restrictions from Israel- the list of injustices too long to recite. Netanyahu should be on trial at The Hague like other genocidal lunatics. It’s bizarre that the crimes committed against the Jewish people are exactly the crimes Netanyahu is visiting upon the people of Palestine. He’s just creating further generations of people who hate Israel. This is not the way to lasting peace.
NB
The full responsibility for the horrors rests on Iran, Hamas and Lenanon.
Their plan is to butcher all 8,000,000 on the land including children, women, elderly.
NB
I meant all 8,000,000 Jews. Hamas does not care about its own populace.
Savio
It is wrong to assume/believe that the conflict in between Israel and Palestine started on the 7th October of 2023.
Israel has occupied the Palestinian territories since the Six-Day War of 1967. And that is the root of the problem. The occupation is not Democratic. Destroying Palestinians’ houses is not democratic. Imprisoning Palestinians without trial is not democratic
Wick's pencil
No, it falls on Israel, US, UK, and others.
NB
They could have gotten these territories back, but this is not their aim. The aim is to annihilate the other nation.
Fos
The Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories and the Golan Heights, as rightly pointed, where Israel had transferred its parts of population there and built large settlements, is the longest military occupation in modern history.
The U.S. was the first country to recognize Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan, which the rest of the international community regards as Israeli-occupied.
And to this day not much has changed with the US administration policies.
NB
The solution for the Middle East is the fair coexistence of all existing nations in the region. With security. With respect for territorial and other rights. This could have been the end of the madness.
Zaphod

Most residents in Golan are Druzes, who have no beef with Israels existence. The West Bank is a complicated issue, just look at a map. If you hand that to Hamas, not only is Israel geographically finished, you would also have created another virulant islamist state with open borders.
What Hamas wants is to eliminate Israel, and not coexistence. Remember "from the river to the sea". And btw, Iran is thousands of km away from Israel, so how would Iran have a territorial issue?
That the religious foundation is always blocked out and the conflict is presented as a land issue is only to present it to Western audiences in a way they sympathize with.
Zaphod
NB
Trump had almost managed to get there by getting the Sunni Arab states on board with the Abraham accords and by de-funding Hamas and Hizballah. Biden shredded all that on day 1, and since then we have been seeing the horrible results.
