There are TWO nations between the Jordan river and the Mediterranean sea, namely the Arabic Palestinian nation and the Israeli Jewish nation. BOTH nations deserve to live and to exist.

People in Israel are already living in hell

Netanyahu is under pressure from his political partners, on whom he relies to remain in power, to resume the war after the first phase.

Exactly. He has every reason to want to continue the war. He doesn't want a permanent ceasefire.

The clock is ticking on Hamas.

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

Trumps thought bubble added to the crisis.

Hamas has always said it would release all the hostages if Israel stopped the war.

Israel says it must destroy Hamas.

Intractable

Note to others....Hamas not the only group fighting in Gaza.

Again, Israel and the US doesn't want a trickle, release them now unconditionally or that's it.

Israel says it must destroy Hamas.

Intractable

Absolutely

Note to others....Hamas not the only group fighting in Gaza.

Well, all of the fighting groups need to give up the hostages, but this is yet again, more reason as to why there will never be a two-state solution. The clock is ticking....

""Israel’s defense minister on Wednesday vowed that “all hell will break loose” on Hamas if it fails to free hostages this weekend as planned""

What HELL is he talking about, Gaza been there several times already and NOTHING has changed except more Cadavers and bombed out structures.

Bibi and his war mongers need to COMPLY with their end of the agreement and allow the agreed on aid (Tents, Fuel, Food, Water, and machinery to pull the dead from under the rubble), into Gaza,

Hamas is only asking for what has already been agreed on and as usual Bibi is NOT honoring his end of the deal.

The whole truth..

Like it or not..

They had enough time, especially how we saw the way they treated the last few hostages.

Well, they don't get to call the shots, so either by this weekend they can release the remaining hostages or they can all be killed, now literally all of their leadership is dead, but if they want to join the rest of their brethren, Israel can make it happen their choice, but the clock is ticking.

As long as Israel’s “One State Solution”, which has been in place since 1948, is aided and abetted by the United States of America (and the unwitting U. S. taxpayer), ethnic cleansing will continue.

The irresponsible statements made by the convicted felon and former Insurrectionist-in-Chief, this week exacerbates the situation .

Is anybody seriously suggesting they never saw or sensed this coming!!?

Hamas’ threat to delay the hostage release sparked fury from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who vowed to resume the fighting if Hamas didn’t follow through and ordered troops to be strengthened around Gaza. They pulled back from the territory's populated areas during the ceasefire.

Netanyahu has extended a political plank, the point of no return for Hamas, Hezbollah, eventually the Mullahs in Iran, and they all like a row of lemmings jumping off the cliff, blinded by a rancid religious Islamic extremist ideological stubbornness, condemning every Palestinian yearning, pleading for a peaceful two state solution.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

Seems Hamas has declined to release the hostages as asked.

see you on Saturday then.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

Rocknroll.... the "lemmings leaping of a cliff " idea is actually something of an urban myth.

As for Iran, Youtube has a number of vids done by ordinary western travelers and guess what ?

Not at all the way people assume and think...locals looking much like locals anywhere, women wear scarves, some do not.

Men dress in western style.

Iran being the bogey man is one way Israel distracts from its illegal occupation and oppression of Palestinian people.

BTW Israel is not a secular democracy either....its a Jewish nation isnt it ?

Note to Bass...clocks tick....its not a new thing

Fortunately, the palestinians never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity.

Thus giving the IDF the best chance to finally end Hamas once and for all.

The best part is that there is finally a US administration with some sense (FINALLY!), that the two state solution is simply unworkable.

The palestinians (whether represented by an ELECTED HAMAS), or by the PA, who is just Hamas-lite) have rejected COUNTLESS peace overtures

ONE simple reason: they want ALL of Israel, not just a sliver. They want ALL..

Trump sees through the nonsense fortunately.

His plan most certainly won't work (because Egypt won't take in palestinians, fearing their ultimate revolutionary tendency which has bitten Egypt many times)

However THE KEY is that the two state solution is FINALLY dead

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

Billot...OK ...2 state solution dead....what to do with millions of Palestinians ?

Can they be a part of a "greater Israel " with equal rights to Jews ?

No.....because that would demographically undermine the idea of a "Jewish Nation "

What to do with the millions of people whose ancestors occupied the land long before 1948 ?

Expulsion, ethnic cleansing, what ?

Can your answer have a little equity and justice ?

So Israel has committed collective punishment, starved 2.5 million people, slaughtered 65000 most likely more mainly civilians, levelled an entire populations dwellings and infrastructure. All of which are war crimes!

Now they are withholding more aid and living quarters for the people they displaced and trying to make out that the Israelis are the victims here and the ones on the right side…absolutely disgusting!

1 ( +2 / -1 )

The fascinating thing about consistently rejecting peace (for example, rejecting 95% of the west bank and half of jerusalem, as was rejected by Yasser Arafat, to Bill Clinton's disbelief), and rejecting it IN FAVOR of:

-Intifada (slaughtering Israelis at bus stops, weddings, markets, etc, in the hundreds) -Lobbing completely imprecise missiles DESIGNED to maximally kill civilians (as opposed, ya know, to targeting military and accidentally killing civilians) -Sending 4000 terrorists and civilians (half of those who entered Israel on Oct 7 were Gazan civilians) into Israel to slaughter 1200, gang rape teenage women at a music festival, burn families alive, and kidnap 200

...is that there are CONSEQUENCES to such things.

This is the important point which seems lost on so many.

There are only SO MANY times you can reject peace in favor of slaughter,

Before the other side says: "Hey you know what? You and me? This just ain't working"

It will be interesting to see where the future takes things...

ONE THING is certain: No people, anywhere, who is this bent on destruction (Israel's destruction, as well as THEIR OWN destruction, as Palestinians place remarkably little value upon their own lives, choosing to martyr their children), will gain statehood.

The alternatives? Who knows?

Certainly the Arab states --- JORDAN, EGYPT, SAUDI ARABIA, KUWAIT, LEBANON, for example --- know that those alternatives do not include giving citizenship to the palestinians, who would only try to overthrow those countries.

It is a dilemma that, unfortunately, only the Palestinians themselves can solve. Will they choose to stop teaching their children to hate?

Will they choose love and life over hate and death?

I hope so :)

(but I ain't holding my breath)
