In a previous similar discussion thread I proposed that –

"The solution for the Middle East crisis is coexistence between the Palestinian Arabs and the Israeli Jews. It should be an equitable coexistence wherein both nations can feel secure, fulfill their sentiments towards the land as much as possible, and enjoy enough space for agriculture, housing and economy."

Another poster replied to that sophisticatedly, sarcastically and distortedly, by saying –

"In other words, a return to historic Palestine, where Muslims, Christians, and Jews lived in peace. I like that idea..."

But what is "historic Palestine?" This term is misleading. The land has a very long history. See for example the article with the title "History of Palestine" in Wikipedia. The land was predominantly Jewish until the first centuries AD. It became predominantly Arabic since the 7th century AD, with the Arabic/Muslim conquest of the entire Middle East. Many rulers and conquerors came and went away. Jewish refugees immigrated back to the land in the modern era as a result of being persecuted and murdered in Europe and in the Arab countries. At the present moment there are two nations on the land: The Palestinian Arabs and the Israeli Jews. Any solution must take into account the needs and the rights of these two nations.

When is the western world going to say enough!?

We should ask the US administration and the connections of Anthony Blinken in Wall Street (indexes are on all time high), considering the money the American arms manufacturers are making from these conflicts around the globe. The war Israel is waging in the Middle East could be over the moment Washington stops sending weapons to Tel Aviv

From a rational perspective when attempting to establish a secure and safe state would it be better to base sovereignty and borders on present demographics and populations or to instead attempt to revert the region back to how it existed in the bronze age?

For sure anti-semitism existed to some degree in the Arab world just as any minority has lived as second class citizens throughout history. But look back through history at major examples of anti-semitism and they're almost all European. The holocaust, the pale of settlement, blood libels and so forth.

Relatively speaking Jews in the Middle East and the Arab world were subject to far less persecution than those in Europe. As demonstrated by the fact that when political Zionism first started to form in the mid/late 1800's it was as a response to European anti-semitism and proposed moving TO the Middle East and not away from it. Just look back at the trivelations of Europe's Ashkenazi and Sephardic Jews vs the Middle East's Mizrahi Jews.

Anti-semitism in the Arab world largely rose as a response to the Zionist project to turn a part of the region overwhelmingly non-Jewish into a Jewish state. Further argument that Zionism makes Jews around the world less safe and not safer.

I've already gone on a lot but I want to add the mainstream of Palestinian nationalism is secular in nature. Placing national liberation above religious divisions. Some of Palestine's foremost nationalists were and are in fact Christian.

Meanwhile Israel defines itself as a "Jewish state for Jewish" as stated in its nation state law. As such Israel is not a state of its people but a state built exclusively for only one group of its population. In other words an enthnostate. This means there are 2 natural outcomes. Either Israel is an apartheid state or it must ethnically cleanse its population to maintain its Jewishness.

I agree that coexistence is the best solution. Give the Jews their one country. The Arabs already have 22 countries, Muslims have 55 around the world. What is it about the one tiny Jewish state that drives people so utterly mad? I wonder....

Genocidal terrorist regime..

Tokyo; exactly right. And that is why it is so important for the IDF to eliminate Hamas and Hezbollah, before they can impose their terrorist and genocidal views on others.

""The 2,500-year-old city, about 80 kilometers (50 miles) south of Beirut, is known for its pristine beaches, ancient harbor and imposing Roman ruins and hippodrome, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is among Lebanon’s largest cities and a vibrant metropolis popular with tourists.""

Means nothing to the Zionists.

As always, everyone will be there at this end of this endeavor by Bibi and his war mongers.

Hamas, Hezbollah, Israel, Iran, will all be there eying each other with BLOODY NOSES. No one will win this mess the only losers are those who followed the orders and died.

On the Israeli side, Hezbollah attacks have killed around 60 people, half of them soldiers.

Gotta love how the press likes to legitimize Hezbollah. Half of them soldiers…..Please.

Hezbollah’s statement said Safieddine had “joined his brother, our most noble and precious martyr,” Nasrallah.

Do us all a favor, keep the civilians away from harm and then let those that want to fight, have the precious martyrdom that they so desire. Noble and precious.

GD; actually, peace started under Trump with the Abraham Accords bringing Israel together with various Arab countries. This infuriated Iran, who could not stand the idea of losing power in the area. So, Iran unleashed their terrorist minions to attack Israel.

This is untrue. While Israel intends to frovide refuge for Jews and for Judaism, it is an ethnic mosaic and a partnership of Jews and Arabs.

NB; that sounds curiously like all the states around Israel. The 22 Arab states are all Jew-free, by design. They abused and hounded their Jewish populations until they all left, to find refuge in Israel. By comparison, Israel treats its Arab citizens as, well, citizens. But also wants to maintain its unique status as the only Jewish country in the world. Compared to 55 Muslim countries, it is a very reasonable request.

The problem lies with the Arab/Muslim nations, who refuse to accept Palestinians as either refugees or asylees or as citizens.

Only a matter of time before the whole region is engulfed in war...

Looks like one already.

Hamas started all this a year ago this month but Bibi and Co. sure don't seem to care about those Israeli hostages. He's using this as a pretext and excuse to take it out on everybody he can in the area. War criminal scum, just like Hamas + Hezbollah. And nobody on any side will be the 'victors' here.

The war Israel is waging in the Middle East could be over the moment Washington stops sending weapons to Tel Aviv.

The US Embassy got moved to Jerusalem, thanks to Traitor45. He and his daughter-wife were at the dedication ceremony.

trump knows nothing about 'peace' and did zero to initiate it there. All he does is promote/think/talk/commit violence and hate.

Israelis may run ,but they cannot hide, people are kicking people with Israeli passports out of their country, American have declared Israel a hostile enemy, nobody cares about what bootlicker politicians say,

This is untrue. If you stroll in the streets and in the shopping malls of Israel you will see Jewish women in modern attire intermixing with elegant arabic women in traditional attaie. Jews and Arabs intermix in all sectors of the economy. There are lots and lots of Arabic medical doctors and nurses in all hospitals. There are many Arabic engineers. There are Arabic writers, actors and musicians. There is a trend to educating children of both ethnicities to be bilingual. Israel is intended to provide refuge to Jews and to Judaism, but to serve as a home for all its citizens. Israel, a tiny state, is a Jewish-Arab partnership. Another state, the state of Palestine, which will be purely Arabic, should be established next to Isarel in the framework of an equitable political solution. Israel is surrounded by a vast environment which is purely Arabic.

Israelis may run ,but they cannot hide

This statement is an expression of a very dark inclination. Jews could not hide In the 1920, 1930s and 1940s.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

The Un General Assembly decided in 1947 to establish a Jewish state (actually a Jewish-Arabic state) and an Arabic state next to it. The extremist Palestinian leadership refused, and launched a genocidal war that brought a disaster upon its own nation. The Arabic and Persian insistence on demolishing the tiny state of Israel and ending the lives of its Jewish inhabitants does not make sense, and goes against international resolutions.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Starpunk; Trump started no new wars. Zero. He promoted ME peace via the Abraham Accords. Now I understand you have a strange dislike for him, that is fine. But do try to keep your emotions separate from reality.

NB is correct, the actual genocidal intent in the region is the genocide that the surrounding Arab nations want to commit against Israel. The only democracy in the region. The only country with human rights for all, the only country where LGBT are respected and protected.

after residents evacuate

Remind me when Hizballah warned residents to evacuate before rocketing towns in Israel and the Golan.
