How much are these roads and railroads used, anyway? Politicial theatre, as usual.

So hostile that they didn't blow up their roads and railways?

Whenever I see a picture like this, in which veteran North Korean generals scrupulously are taking notes of what Leader Kim Jong Un says about defense matters, I cannot help but think that Kim had succeeded his father as a sheer amateur on military matters, and yet all those veteran soldiers are being dictated by him on strategic matters.

Kim must be a genius in military matters.

It is hard to imagine that at one point not that long ago leaders from both sides met regularly and the ROK set up factories in a special economic zone inside the DPRK. The world is now a much more dangerous place. Pray for peace.

Nearly half of his people are starving, and here goes Kim blowing up roads and railways... and it's the South that's "hostile"! It's hard not to laugh, though it's far from being funny.

And he's sending troops to help the Russians oppress Ukraine. Who again is hostile?

Where did you get the information that he is sending troops? Outside Zelenski government claims, that is.

The Telegraph cites intelligence sources saying 3,000 NK troops to be deployed there. NYT cites SK's defense minister saying highly likely some NK soldiers already killed in action. Yonhap says Yoon taking reports seriously. Do you doubt it?

All based on "intelligence sources" from Kiev. I take those as serious as the Ghost of Kiev and Zelenskis million-man armee.

By blowing up these roads they made it harder for North Koreans to escape their decrepit country and flee to South Korea without having to swim rivers and cross minefields. Even 18 North Korean soldiers realized they were no longer in North Korea and took off.

"18 servicemen from North Korea have already fled their positions on the border between the Bryansk and Kursk regions of Russia. This occurred seven kilometers from the state border with Ukraine."

The news about 18 North Korean servicemen was published by the Unian telegram channel with reference to Suspilne (an Ukrainian news agency relying on intelligence) on October 15. No photos or videos are provided. It just raises a lot of questions that nullify the reliability of the news. Allegedly, they escaped (or surrendered? to whom?) on the border of Kursk and Bryansk regions. There are no Ukrainians on this border! Their equipment and camouflage are ridiculous, not suitable for the environment. They have no experience, they are armed with outdated weapons. They don't know the language. Who will let such clowns to the front line? They are only suitable for digging trenches and other engineering and construction work. How did they get to the Kursk region without being noticed by anyone along the way? Newly appointed NATO Secretary General Rutte said recently that he "cannot confirm" information about the transfer of North Korean soldiers to Ukraine - in other words, he confirmed that this whole story with the North Koreans at the front is simply a lie, and a lie that the West does not plan to believe.

I don´t think anybody at all has fled NK by crossing the DMZ, so the roads to SK have nothing to do with this. All NK refugees for years escaped by crossing the river to China.

Even 18 North Korean soldiers realized they were no longer in North Korea and took off.

Seriously, that tale again? Well, if it walks like UKR propaganda, talks like like UKR propaganda, smells like like UKR propaganda.... the it must be true I suppose.

The only recent use of these roads is by NKs trying to get to freedom.

Here's an example, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNMzU8Da80Q

There are lots of NKs crossing a river into China. It has to be bad when China is considered freedom relative to your home country.

I remember that. That was a soldier though. And soldiers will be at the border, regardless if Kim blows up roads. And I think this the only case of a North-South escape through the DMZ that you can find.

There are lots of NKs crossing a river into China.

All NK escapes have been via that route for years. And I understand in China there is a whole underground economy uses them for cheap labour.

"In 2017, there were a handful of defections by North Korean soldiers. One of them took advantage of thick fog to cross the demilitarized zone (DMZ)."

"A North Korean soldier defected to South Korea early on Tuesday by crossing the militarized border in the eastern part of the Korean Peninsula, South Korean media reported, citing the South’s military."

OK. So are you saying that North Korea aren't sending troops to fight for Russia against Ukraine? You say it is a lie?

Just want to get a position on whether you think this is true or not.

I find the presence of NК military units on the Ukrainian front incredible. Individual mercenaries could be like, for example, Japanese volunteers exist. But...NKs can't just leave their country....So, volunteers are also impossible. Entire military units, of which 18 people could have escaped, is generally an unrealistic assumption.

The only source of news about 18 is supposedly Ukrainian intelligence. Who believes Ukrainian sources now? I do not believe. I always double-check what I read in Ukrainian sources hundred times. I have not found confirmation of this news about 18 anywhere.

Russia may deny it, the pro-totalitarians may believe it and continue spreading Russian misinformation, but a simple Google, or another search engine, maybe not your Yandex search can provide a different perspective which says North Korea is involved with the Kremlin militarily in Ukraine. Russia needs help with its warmongering.

You are wrong to think so. I always thought you were a smart person. Russophobe, but smart. You studied geography, for example, at school:) No offense, I'm joking like this :) So, Yandex is a good browser, but, your ignorance, it is very far from the Kremlin search engine. We have to try very hard to find something pro-Russian propaganda through it. There is no browser in Russia that would be for the Kremlin! Yandex, at best, provides materials from official Russian sources. The bulk of the unofficial news can be found only via Telegram. So you're very disinformed.

It's Google that may be called information garbage.

So, as Russians say, observe information hygiene
