“That prohibition is categorical and does not turn on the gravity of the crimes charged, the strength of the Government’s proof, or the merits of the prosecution, which the Government stands fully behind,” the prosecutors wrote in Monday’s court filing in the election interference case.

Kinda highlights the flaws in theUS's democracy. It is not good when someone can be above the law.

Federal prosecutors moved Monday to dismiss the criminal charges against President-elect Donald Trump that accused him of plotting to overturn the 2020 election and to abandon the classified documents case against him, citing longstanding Justice Department policy that says sitting presidents cannot face criminal prosecution.

There is your two tier justice system.

Add to that the billionaire bought SC and the carcereal company stonks which have been booming since Trump's election.

Hit the road, Jack. What a loser.

waste of 100 million dollars and the dashing of leftist hopes and dreams. Almost got him! lol

-10 ( +7 / -17 )

This is called jumping before one is pushed.

-7 ( +4 / -11 )

Here is your get out of jail free card - valid for 4 years.

6 ( +9 / -3 )

It is not good when someone can be above the law.

it’s not about a person, but the elected role, also applies to ALL in this role, not just one.

so it IS good when neither political side can subvert the will of the people’s vote.

simply can’t use partisan lawfare and biased judges to try to jail the duly elected President on bogus charges. We aren’t some third world banana place, sorry Jack.

Special Counsel Matt Gaetz could be fun.

-8 ( +5 / -13 )

Not even in the slightest remotely surprised.

-5 ( +5 / -10 )

He played the last Trump card.

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

I was always really impressed watching Smith speak. He was articulate, smart, and driven.

Sadly seventy million plus people decided that a criminal carnival barker was more their kind of guy.

A country which chooses a man like Trump over a man like Smith is not a country which can be taken seriously, but then again neither can the seventy-odd million people who voted Trump in out of spite and fear.

7 ( +11 / -4 )

I was always really impressed watching Smith speak. He was articulate, smart, and driven.

A lot of people are smart, Smith wasn’t smart when it came to circumventing Trump’s constitutional and presidential rights. He is smart, but at the end of the day, the rule of law and the constitution were smarter.

Sadly seventy million plus people decided that a criminal carnival barker was more their kind of guy.

Yes, they were tired of the Democrats lies, 4 long years of being obsessed with Trump they let the country fall apart, that’s on them

A country which chooses a man like Trump over a man like Smith is not a country which can be taken seriously,

The majority of the nations thinks the opposite

but then again neither can the seventy-odd million people who voted Trump in out of spite and fear.

Uh-huh…well, anyway, Joe just announced he will be going to President Trump’s inauguration, good on him.

-11 ( +2 / -13 )

The majority of the nations thinks the opposite

And the majority is always right, as history has always shown us.

8 ( +9 / -1 )

He still a felon

5 ( +8 / -3 )

And the majority is always right, as history has always shown us.

And that’s why Biden and the Dems lost, eeeexactly!

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

Blacklabel

It is not good when someone can be above the law.

it’s not about a person, but the elected role, also applies to ALL in this role, not just one.

Exactly, some people above the rule of law. US's flaw.

so it IS good when neither political side can subvert the will of the people’s vote.

Neither political side is subverting the will of the people’s vote. But this has nothing to do with politics. It is to do with justice and the law.

simply can’t use partisan lawfare and biased judges to try to jail the duly elected President on bogus charges.

I agree. And there is no risk of that. There is no lawfare in the US.

We aren’t some third world banana place, sorry Jack.

It looks closer to a Banana Republic every day.

Special Counsel Matt Gaetz could be fun.

Matt lacks the skills and integrity.

Bass4,as long as the Judge knows he ,she would of not accepted the charges, the judge make the final decision on the charges

2 ( +5 / -3 )

as long as the Judge knows he ,she would of not accepted the charges, the judge make the final decision on the charges

It’s over! Again, not going to happen, ever and it’s now making these people look like desperate political pathetic hacks with no way out, they’re shutting this down and I’m not surprised because they never had a chance. The Judge should put her gavel down and go to Trump’s inauguration.

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

Yep- All shut down. You know it pained that judge so much to drop those charges,

No book deals, no SNL appearances for her or Jack. Coulda been heroes!

-6 ( +3 / -9 )

He should still continue to try the pending cases towards Trump, Trump is going to replace him with a "yes man" like he will with every other position just to show how corrupt the country is and how much worse it could be.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

He should still continue to try the pending cases towards Trump,

How??? I mean, he could if he wants to ruin his career…

Trump is going to replace him with a "yes man" like he will with every other position

No different than any other president has in the past.

just to show how corrupt the country is and how much worse it could be

Not the country, but the Washington swamp is.

-9 ( +1 / -10 )

It’s so fun to think about who OUR Jack Smith and Robert Mueller and Alvin/Letitia/Fanny will be.

or is oversight and politicized prosecutions and FBI raids at 6am with CNN not a “thing” any more?

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

Trump got 100 of lawsuits that will keep him.busy

5 ( +7 / -2 )

Their was not weaponization ,the judge would sanctions the prosecution with fines and jail time, weaponization is not even a hoax,it just MAGA mental illness

5 ( +7 / -2 )

As journalists Woodward and Bernstein have said, what Trump has done is far, far worse than anything Nixon even dreamed about getting away with. The primary difference between then and now is that the Republican congressional representatives and Republican senators and had higher morals. Not so with Donald J. Trump. This time all, or should I say the vast majority, of the Republican senators and congress members drank the koolaid. They are more responsible for what Trump has gotten away with than Trump himself, for they failed in their obligation to protect, defend and uphold the constitution. They are indeed enablers.

8 ( +9 / -1 )

And to the people on here that worship Trump, I look forward to the part where he screws you over, after years of y'all making up excuses for him It would bring me so much joy for you to understand how foolish all of that was. Nobody is safe, you may think America is paradise for you because you are on the side that does the oppressing but I'm willing to bet you couldn't handle the economy taking a dive when you least expect it. Whether America becomes a third world country or a communist country, don't exactly know which will happen first but anyone with common sense can tell that the clown from the Simpsons can do a better job as president

7 ( +9 / -2 )

Hunter and Mayorkas were looking longingly as those 2 turkeys were pardoned at the WH, but not them.

mayorkas knows he has an indictment waiting:

U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is reportedly in discussions to resign, with sources suggesting he is seeking immunity from future investigations. This news has sparked a variety of reactions on social media, with many users expressing opposition to the idea of granting him immunity. No official confirmation from the DHS has been provided regarding these negotiations.

There's also a conversation to be had about the fundamental motivation which drives people to vote a certain way. I mean, what, seventy-six million (or thereabouts) voted for a man who is everything a US president shouldn't be. And they did it twice, the second time in the full knowledge of what they were doing.

There's no question that the Republican party in its current state - I mean we may as well call it the MAGA party or Trump party, because that's what it is - shoulders plenty of the responsibility, but it's also on the USA to look inwards at its own attitudes.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

you couldn't handle the economy taking a dive when you least expect it. Whether America becomes a third

like when inflation went from 1.7% under Trump to 9.1% under Biden? when prices of everything went up 40%+ but supposedly only cause of “Putin’s war”?

Lived that. Much better days under Trump are ahead.

Bye, Jack.

Go back to bike riding in Europe or wherever you came from. Although might want to ask for “immunity” on the way out too.

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

Blacklabel, the judge knows Trump guilty, she will be there in DC,to clapback at Trump illegal activity

6 ( +7 / -1 )

He didn’t last time, so now worries.

Nobody is safe,

If voters thought that, they would have never voted for him, particularly minorities, but expanding on your comment, Myorkas did not make the country safe for what he did and allowing over 10 million illegals to run free without any vetting or background checks.

you may think America is paradise for you because you are on the side that does the oppressing

Uplifting

but I'm willing to bet you couldn't handle the economy taking a dive when you least expect it.

Fracking, releasing the energy juggernaut of US natural energy, getting rid of regulations…how that would dive the economy is just pure lunacy.

Whether America becomes a third world country or a communist country,

California, New York..

don't exactly know which will happen first but anyone with common sense can tell that the clown from the Simpsons can do a better job as president

The markets disagree with you.

Things had better go right, because if things go wrong, the republicans have the presidency, the house, and the senate, so they will be fully responsible for everything that happens under their watch. And when MAGA people can't blame everyone else when something goes wrong (libs, women, minorities...basically everyone except white men), they're going to see some insane level of mental whiplash. Anyone who's ever been in a cult and got out will know the feeling, like the world just stopped spinning.

Seen short term, the re-election of Trump is merely a sign of a country determined to hate itself. Seen longer term, it could actually be quite the comedy.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

And when MAGA people can't blame everyone else when something goes wrong (libs, women, minorities...basically everyone except white men),

MAGA is much, much more that your desperate “the evil white men! versus everyone else” narrative.

see the election results. It wasn’t just “white men” who got Trump elected.

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

They will

Yes

And when MAGA people can't blame everyone else when something goes wrong (libs, women, minorities...basically everyone except white men),

Not sure what that means or why race got into the conversation, focus

they're going to see some insane level of mental whiplash. Anyone who's ever been in a cult and got out will know the feeling, like the world just stopped spinning.

What?

Seen short term, the re-election of Trump is merely a sign of a country determined to hate itself.

You got that mixed up, the country already hates itself and is demoralized, again, elections have consequences.

Seen longer term, it could actually be quite the comedy.

Libs have nothing to smile about, they’re shutting don’t even have a leader to lead them out of the swamp.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

How??? I mean, he could if he wants to ruin his career…

That is hilarious. A man doing his job will ruin his career by doing his job but judge Canon not knowing how to do her job keeps her career when she was in way over her head or just doing a bad job of stalling time and putting her Maga hat on full display in the courtroom

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Another very dark day to jurisprudence in the United States of America … some people are clearly above the law.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

like when inflation went from 1.7% under Trump to 9.1% under Biden? when prices of everything went up 40%+ but supposedly only cause of “Putin’s war”?

Lived that. Much better days under Trump are ahead.

From how he wanted people to inject windex as a way to be immune to covid tells me how much intellect he actually lacks. His big idea on tariffs for one are absolutely foolish and he is implanting yes men in various positions, not competent individuals. A shady dude from Fox news doesn't know fiction from non-fiction, all Americans should be wary of how dangerous that is, even the Maga A-hats should worry about the fate of the US

5 ( +6 / -1 )

3 ( +4 / -1 )

It was real and it was fun, but it wasn't real fun.

Two tiered justice for the win!

1 ( +3 / -2 )

That is hilarious.

Smith or that he wants to pursue this?

A man doing his job will ruin his career by doing his job but judge Canon not knowing how to do her job

You mean, she’s supposed to overlook the weaponization of the justice system and just let Smith run buck wild?!

keeps her career when she was in way over her head

Just like judge Merchan

or just doing a bad job of stalling time and putting her Maga hat on full display in the courtroom

Or Merchan putting his anti-Trump hat on and doing whatever he can with Willis, Bragg and James to keep him off the campaign trail.

Google the definition of Communism.

Why else would you be in Japan if you love America so much?

Business, kids in school, elderly in-laws.

The Maga cultists in Japan, Thailand, China hold a grudge towards American women

This has absolutely nothing to do with American women on any level or women altogether

and fly to foreign countries to find a wife 10-15 years younger than them

Honestly, I have no idea what the heck you are talking about. Anyway, the point for most conservatives I know in Japan who are American citizens, we wanted a change, we wanted Biden and Harris out, it was always about them, we voted and the results are exactly what we wanted. So I’m good.

You have a tendency to defend all known threats to Democracy.

I don’t that’s why I voted this administration out of office to your point

Not once have you ever badmouthed Russia

I have before, but I’m more concerned with China

but you don't hesitate to talk bad about Americans of color, women, Democrats Ukraine, Taiwan, freedom etc

I don’t talk bad about my country, I talk bad about the leadership currently and the Democrat party, libs are the one that run the race and gender card. I think we have given Ukraine enough financial aid and we should limit it and Taiwan, I think we can handle that and as for freedom, it has never tasted so good!!!

Oh ho yes it will, you pounced on Biden over his health at every opportunity,

Yes, when Trump freezes up, walks off stage, hides in bushes, has Easter bunnies escort him off stage and talks about Cornpop then I will start to be concerned

Trump would be up there in age during presidency. Facts don't lie

True. But right now now his staff are trying to keep up with him.

get a lawyer dude, you got a rough and expensive time ahead. mayorkas and all his pals.

really really should not have put Bannon and Navarro in prison and also failed to jail Trump.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

another one gone, and another one gone, another one bites the dust...

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

Change for what? Not to mention nothing good happened 2016-2020. Trump spent his first 100 days just trying to be on the news everyday and trying to undo the things Obama did. Building a wall and putting Latinos in cages isn't making anything great no matter how much you tell yourself that.

Talking bad about the leadership or the people living in America is talking bad about America so that is an obvious lie. Difference between me and you is I can have things I disagree with either side on but you trust Repubs blindly despite how dumb or controversial a decision is, you were cool with Gaetz and then the second Trump dropped him you followed in his footsteps but if Trump continued to support him after Gaetz gave up it would also mean you would do the same because you have an unhealthy way of worshipping Trump

Bannon and Navarro went to prison because of their own actions. Nothing else.

Yup.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

I don't know that and you don't know that

Everybody knows it- the reason he fell on his sword is that he desperately wanted to avoid the very first question he would've been asked in the senate confirmation hearing for the position of ATTORNEY GENERAL- 'Have you paid women for sex?'- which would have put him in the situation of either admitting that he had, and had therefore broken the law or denied it and perjured himself, and the mountain of evidence would be exposed. His third option would be to plead the fifth against self incrimination as he answered congress, under oath, while he faced a federal investigation into his criminal behavior. Even by the chaotic standards of trump's bizarre picks, that would have been impossible for him and would have forced even senate republicans to vote against the confirmation.

'but then he’s cool with the adjudged sex pest and convicted fraudster as POTUS, so it’s not surprising.'

More baseless allegations.

Proven and convicted.
