Well then, they should take back Musk while they're at it, but I'm assuming that South Africa won't want him back.

a very rare move by the United States

But very common in third-world dictatorships!

We’re kicking you OUT because you HATE Trump! We DEMAND that you LOVE Trump!

That sounds a lot like North Korea, doesn’t it?

They got the wrong South African.

How long before the party of Trump declares South Africa to be a dictatorship.

And, when the party of Biden decides that the way to smother the talk about him aiding a genocide is to 'discredit' the charge by also declaring South Africa a dictatorship and, just like that, our media labels South Africa a dictatorship and anyone who questions it is deemed to be unbelievable the same way someone who questions the claims that Russia and Iran and Venezuela are dictatorships.

South Africa is on it's last legs economically, and the overtly racist law making needs to be condemned by all nations. So kicking this racist kleptomaniac back to SA is a good move.

So what’s the problem?

So what’s the problem?

I don't see any. It is clearly part of being a diplomat that you can be expelled from your host country for any petty reason. Trump is the King of Petty. That's been proven over and over again.

About 50% of American voters hate him too, BTW. Just happy to be a citizen so he can't deport us.

Let's make it perfectly clear. Trump is saying welcome to White South Africans only. Whatever moral authority this country claimed to have is swirling down the drain.

Last week, Trump further fueled tensions, saying South Africa's farmers were welcome to settle in the United States after repeating his accusations that the government was "confiscating" land from white people.

yeah countries generally don’t send hateful “ambassadors” do they?

This would be more likely punishment because Sth Africa brought charges against Trumps genocidal Zionist handlers in Israel at the ICC!

This pathetic MAGA gang lacks the maturity to accept criticism for the immense imbecilities of their untouchable clown leader.

U.S. expels South African ambassador, saying he 'hates' Trump

There are going to be very few foreign ambassadors left in the United States if that is their policy!

his accusations that the government was "confiscating" land from white people.

Umm...does he really think that even compares to the amount of land white people have confiscated from non-white people over the last several centuries?

Good idea, diplomacy requires good relations, otherwise nothing productive can get done to better either country or the larger world.

Hate Trump and Co in silence, do your job of looking out for your own nations interests and understand the US is no longer a friendly nation at the government level.

Hate Trump and Co in silence

yes that would be wonderful advice to all.

Here is what the South African Ambassador said at a conference in South Africa that has Trump's and Little Marco' diapers in a bunch.

So in terms of that, the supremacist assault on incumbency, we see it in the domestic politics of the USA, the MAGA movement, the Make America Great Again movement, as a response not simply to a supremacist instinct, but to very clear data that shows great demographic shifts in the USA in which the voting electorate in the USA is projected to become 48 percent white,” Rasool said.

“And so that needs to be factored in, so that we understand some of the things that we think are instinctive, nativist, racist things, I think that there’s data that, for example, would support that, that would go to this wall being built, the deportation movement,”

I agree with every word of this. It should be clear from the vocal advocacy of the so-called "great replacement theory" that a large part of the MAGA movement is racially motivated by a fear of whites loosing their former hegemony in the workplace, market place and especially in politics. Fear and insecurity is what drives right wing politics, not hope, human kindness or a quest for justice. Just sheer, raw fear. Fear of the immigrant. Fear of women competing with men in the workplace, business and politics, fear of anyone who are not white heterosexual christians. It''s a binary zero sum mindset stricken by fear. Somehow someone worshiping something other than christianity is perceived as a threat to christians. Why? Insecurity. The Ambassador mostly nailed it. Nothing he said was wrong. If anything he didn't go far enough. And that is why the MAGAots are so upset. He sees right through them and that freaks them out. They hate being hated and are supremely insecure about it.

Ambassador be like "you mean I get to leave this burgeoning dictatorship? Awesome!"

6 ( +7 / -1 )

yeah countries generally don’t send hateful “ambassadors” do they?

There was no hate in anything the Ambassador said. He made an analysis of the MAGA movement that was basically correct and without rancor. He expressed no emotion one way or the other. He never said he hated anyone or the US. He was speaking to a South African audience trying to understand from their Ambassador to the US what the heck is going on there. That is part of his job as an Ambassador. The US is being supremely petty. Now the US Ambassador will be declared Persona Non Grata and diplomacy suffers as a result.

Willing to bet most leaders (the ones that matter anyway) hate Trump. He's a giant wuss.

9 ( +10 / -1 )

As of the 2022 census white South Africans compose 7.3% of the South African population but own 72% of the countries farm land. By comparison black South Africans compose 81.4% of the population but own only 4% of the countries farm land. The remaining percentage of the population are mixed race, what were once called "Coloured".

This dichotomy in land ownership is a direct result of Apartheid laws that forbade land ownership by Black South Africans who's land was confiscated and given to whites to farm while Black South Africans were forcibly removed to "reserves" where they not only could not own land but could not even rent it.

Since the end of apartheid there have been efforts at land reform in order to undo the injustices of the past. The current land law is one such effort. It is an effort to undo the racist policies of the past. But for those who ascribe the the Great Replacement Theory it is a horror to be feared. Insecurity and fear overwhelm any kind of nuanced rational thought.

Now watch the bees bumble : )

.

Quite a lot do hate him.

Especially since he returned to office.

This South African gentleman and NZ's UK High Commissioner Phil Goff said nothing that was incorrect, but Trump only likes those he can manipulate, deceive or who pretend to like him.
