FAFO

you voted for a wrecking ball and that’s what you get.

"I can't believe the leopard ate MY face", shrieked the veteran who voted for the Leopards Eating People's Faces party".

I guess, given their voting record, the appropriate phrase is "thank you for your service. You are a sucker and a loser".

No sympathy. He was obviously going to spell trouble for lots of people, and some of these vets voted for him because they thought it wasn't their problem. Hey, decency, compassion, consideration and sound judgment ARE your problem. Now they know.

He voted for Trump and said he supports reducing the size of the federal government but not this way.

He voted for Trump so that other people could lose their jobs, not him.

This could be a tricky one to spin for Those Who Carry Water for Trump.

And people say that Americans don't appreciate irony...

And an American would never put the boot into a man when he is down and done. mmmmh???

But perhaps they’re not fit to have a job at this moment, or not willing to come to work.”

Says Alina Habba, a tremendously incompetent lawyer who now works for the white house despite her lack of experience, probity and skills. But she has no shame, which is the main requisite for the Trump admin.

After being played for suckers and fools for eight years, buying his Chinese-made bibles, high tops, and other junk, this is what they get....a pink slip....

I'm trying to have sympathy for them but it's hard....they bought into his racist rhetoric, his outright lying, and his attempted coup in 2020...and then when he was convicted of 34 felonies, they still voted for him...

This brings a whole new MAGA-meaning to the phrase "elections have consequences"....for these MAGA warriors, it now means welcome to joblessness and poverty...all courtesy of their Great Orange Oracle....

Trump has no empathy ... what did they expect?

On another point, this is a typical Rebuplican reaction. They only come to their senses if and when something affects them personally, like when they're suddenly not against abortion because they've made someone pregnant, or they understand LGBQ people should have rights too because their daughter is gay.

Slash and burn.

7 ( +12 / -5 )

Well, this is draining the swamp, after all.

A dog act of betrayal by a disgusting, amoral man and his spectrum-weirdo sidekick.

But these veterans who voted for Trump only have themselves to blame, sadly.

As Veterans we get a pension. Often at less than 40 years old.

we don’t also get a guaranteed federal job for life with another pension. Lucky if you can but way more vets than fed jobs.

Plus the focus has been on the wives of active duty having priority over veterans back to Obama time.

Sometime you get the sense that Republicans are OK about doing without something until they’re the ones who need it. For example, an abortion in a medical emergency but there’s a law against it, or a farmer who needs to sell agricultural products to China but can’t because of a new Trump created trade barrier, or a moral and upright school teacher who voted for Trump because he was against gay rights but has now lost his/her job because Musk has taken a chainsaw to federally funding schools, or the veterans . . . etc., etc.

As long as it’s not going to happen to me and it’s happening to someone else, I’m OK with it.

And that ladies and gentlemen, it what's called a Gotcha...

As both a Vet and a military and civil service retiree, I can assure you that if you are a veteran of a war, but got out of service before your 20 year retirement point, or one of the 15 year early retirement options that were offered in the 1990s and early 2000s, you do not get a "pension". You may receive a monthly disability payment if were injured on active duty and it was tied to your military service.

I haven't the faintest idea what that means, but I just finished my income tax for this year and I had to include both my military and civil service retirements...

Maybe he was part of a super-duper-mega-secret covert ops unit, operating outside congressional oversight because the missions involved were so clandestine that event the president was kept in the dark about them for plausible deniability....

Nah. Occam's razor just gives us Zelig. Or his literary precursor, Walter Mitty.

It's estimated about 95% of Federal Workers, excluding military services, are Democrats. Trump won military vote by 2:1 but heavily lost regular civilian Federal Workers.

Trump and Musk believe Govt. needs downsizing to achieve fiscal sanity, workers receiving generous severance, idea being they can after being laid off, on average produce more societal value in private sector.

Every institution and organization experiences restructuring, down-sizing, right-sizing, etc. It's only in case of US Govt. that it rarely happens, tough to do politically, EXCEPT for 2nd term Presidents like DJT.

This time, DOGE digital audit's enhancing entire process, far more data driven, efficient and thus more rapid.

“As veterans we get a pension…”

i see guys pretending to be veterans all the time. wearing the hat, but when you ask them a question, they go all wiggly and can’t answer a single question correctly. wrong unit, wrong place and time, some of them would have had to be 10 years old at the time, don’t know what their mos was, etc.

i am a disabled vietnam veteran, and i hate those guys. no retired veteran would ever call their retirement a “pension.” the only “pension” the va has is for wartime veterans who are below the poverty line with no disability, and it may be only a couple of hundred dollars per month.

about 300 navy seals were in country over the 10 years of vietnam. thousands of frauds say they were there. it’s rampant.

i have unlimited va healthcare. my experience over 50 years has been nothing but professionalism, competence and healthcare more efficient than anything in the private sector.

yes you don’t get “retirement benefits” if you don’t put in enough years (at least 20) to….retire.

Oh?

GET PAID AFTER YOU RETIRE WITH A PENSION PLAN.

A pension plan pays you a steady paycheck for the rest of your life after you retire from service in the U.S. Army.

Serve 20 years to receive an Army pension.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

I haven't the faintest idea what that means

it means people like you get a military pension -and- a civil service pension. Just like you claim.

no veteran is guaranteed a fed job after retirement, you were lucky.
