The woman gets 10 million yen and a free pass to continue?
She didn’t actually commit a crime in Japan. If she violated any law it would have been American law by acting as a prostitute in Washington DC (assuming that is a crime there, I have no idea). Being asked to go work as a prostitute in a foreign country and saying yes is not actually a crime in Japan so there is nothing to arrest her for. If the American authorities want to arrest her that is a matter for them to deal with.
The guy in contrast did commit a crime in Japan by breaking the law as described in the last paragraph of the article.

Only countries not running trade surpluses will qualify for 'carve-outs' on these tariffs, for example Australia, which runs a persistent trade deficit with the US.
Japan will pay up, expect Nippon Steel to pursue a JV with US Steel in order to produce within US and thus avoid tariffs and also qualify for a corp. 15% tax rate and far lower energy costs to produce the steel itself.

It just makes you look ridiculous, and desperate.
I don't think "makes you look" comes into it.
Imagine this guy as a history teacher. "In 1945 the USA bombed Japan. Japan is quite near Taiwan WHICH BY THE WAY BELONGS TO CHINA"
"In 1066 the Battle of Hastings took place in the UK. War is common all over the world, INCLUDING IN TIBET WHICH BELONGS TO CHINA"
"The French revolution saw many nobles literally lose their heads to the famous guillotine, WIHCH SHOULD BE USED ON ANYONE WHO DENIES THAT CHINA OWNS HOLLAND AND BELGIUM!"

Again, newswires from the US military dispatches,
You must have a teletype direct from US military to know what their dispatches are.
A bit of history lesson here which does not come from the Pentagon, but sourced books.:
We dont need one. Nobody's talking about what our ancestors did with their time in the world. When we talk of China we talk of the here and now, what they are doing now, planning now and for the near term. What is with this fixation for what dead people did decades or centuries ago?
The CCP is only decades old, so China's ancient times and history have nothing to do with the single party that rules China now.
Since 1945 the US past administrations have tried to overthrow more than 50 governments
Without any actual and complete list I call utter BS to that statement.
Of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council, who represent the great powers, only China has not fought a war in 40 years.
And yet it is China attempting to steal international waters and air space, and territory of other nations. Of the five great powers, China by far has the most unresolved territorial disputes including in areas far away from any Chinese territory. In the past 40 Years China has had border skirmishes and used unsafe practices to intimidate and bully a growing number of nations the last of which occurred only two days ago in international air space.
China is no benevolent partner, but a untrustworthy nation that is despised in Asia and abroad.

Another Glorious day, Trump and Trump Admin. has made it crystal clear minor territorial matters will not result in WWIII = COMMON SENSE US Foreign Policy!!
Senkakus, Northern territories and yes, Taiwan as well are all on Notice, but thankfully nobody's actually lives in the Senkakus; US will now FINALLY defend its borders and will no longer 'police' the world's territorial disputes.
Given above, China has no need for buoy(s).

To claim that "America" shouldn't have anything to do with "Captain America" is beyond a stupid assertion, LOL. But we're supposed to applaud this DEI clown like he's just said something world-shaking and profound. LOL.
Meanwhile, let the (lack of audience) do its thing. Don't ask me, ask the decrepit 82 year old Indiana Jones about the train-wreck, money obliterating abomination his last "sequel" also turned out to be...Hollywood sure does love incinerating money these days in support of "tHe MESsAgE", don't they?

Decent point. The Three historic countries of East Asia should all be able to sit at the same table and discuss shared issues as adults, not having to get permission slips from an indecent gatecrasher who is not even from Asia. One can dream but one day hopefully the umbilical cord will be snipped and all seats at the table can be occupied by fully mature, sovereign adults.

"The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.’"
Nissan's board cannot humbly accept the hole they dug themselves into after they tried to destroy Carlos Ghosn. Ghosn wanted the partnership of Renault and Nissan evolve into a single entity. But Nissan's board didn't want to become a subsidiary to a French company. So they staged a coup and had Ghosn arrested with accusations the board allowed for years. Nissan lost some $15 billion in revenue and had to lay off thousands of employees.
Anyone who plans to do business with Nissan should learn from what happened to Carlos Ghosn.

Again, newswires from the US military dispatches, and by now the usual suspects do not even try to put into context the truthfulness of what they have been asked to forward. With the US administration becoming a joke of the entire world, it is a fact, the usual suspects desperate attempts to incite tensions against China are simply frivolous.
A bit of history lesson here which does not come from the Pentagon, but sourced books.:
Since 1945 the US past administrations have tried to overthrow more than 50 governments, many of them democratically elected; grossly interfered in elections in 30 countries; bombed the civilian populations of 30 countries; used chemical and biological weapons; and attempted to assassinate foreign leaders.
Of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council, who represent the great powers, only China has not fought a war in 40 years. In contrast to China, in the last three decades, America has fought a war or been involved in military actions every year.
Over the years, China has emerged as Asia key trading partners through training programs, infrastructure projects and other forms of cooperation, forging strong ties rooted in openness, pragmatism, and win-win collaboration.
Asia needs shared prosperity and mutual respect, not a one-sided power play. And for sure no need for the warmongering attitude of Washington

This unfortunate event occurred during Chinese New Year and the associated Chinese Spring Festival period - when many people in China travel to regions all over China to experience the local taste of our shared, vibrant, ancient Chinese culture - including on both sides of the unique, one-of-a-kind strait.
This is an important, joyous period of the year for Chinese people in general and it seems clear that many regions and provinces, are celebrating. So, sad to see this event marred by tragedy. The Macau victims obviously travelled there Taiwan to celebrate CNY too, as did many others, here and there.
These events remind us that it takes all of us to unify and we are stronger together, especially on the back of our shared Chinese cultural celebrations and shared tragedy.

Oh China is still at it. Two days ago Two Chinese jet fighters confronted an Australian recon plane on a routine recon flight in international airspace, with one flying within 30 meters and dropping flares in its path. A blatant attack on an aircraft in international air space.
China has learnt nothing. Removing a buoy from Japanese territory but threatening/attacking an aircraft flying a routine flight nowhere near any Chinese territory.
China is still a rouge nation, acting like pirates and ignoring international laws in place to keep everyone safe.
Do not trust Xi or CCP, do not trust Putin or Russia and now dont trust Trump or GOP.

I wonder what variety the apple are, is it a common variety or are they one of the varieties that are not so common, if it's one of the latter variants may be we should go out of our way to collect some cutting off the tree and preserve them, also these apple trees are getting on a bit now has he replanted with new ones over the years? If these trees have been badly damaged it might shock them, so potentially quite a lot will surcome to disease, infection, and rot. As for deicing chemicals, I wouldn't recommend anything like that, you don't want to alter the pH or alkaline of the soil, especially if it's salt based, trees and salt don't mix.
