Japan will spend this money on unnecessary military toys rather then support its own elderly who are constantly in the media for murdering one another because of "I was getting tired to take care of He/Him"
Pathetic waste of tax payer money.

Amazing how many experts are on here!! Even people commenting "I have my pilots license" OK, great for you but how often have you flown a Boeing? My guess never.
How about leaving it up to the REL experts rather than starting a gossip column.

Aircraft overran the 11,000’ runway on takeoff. Was a high density altitude condition with temperature over 100°F.
You reach a point in every takeoff where you don’t have enough remaining runway to abort, so you take off.
On positive rate of climb, gear should be retracting, but was not. Video shows ram air generator deployed, meaning electrical system malfunction. Engines were no longer supplying any or enough electrical power.
Well there you go, the report is all done and all the investigators can go home now you have solved the reason for the crash. Amazing how you can do it from your sofa.

Confusing to say the least.
This has been going on for many years. You can buy a Mazda that is actually a Ford (just one example) right back as far as the 1980's. Auto makers have been in bed together like this since the 1960's

@ Alongfortheride: A man who hits a woman is not a man.
Unless the woman hit the man first. It's called equality.
Nobody should hit another person. If they do, and get hit in return, it's the aggressor's fault.
In the case of the woman being the aggressor you block, not hit.

Perhaps tourists need to open their eyes. You buy food from convenience stores which have rubbish bins inside them. Even if you carry the food away with you go in to the same chain shop and drop the rubbish there. Train stations do not have rubbish cans but most trains do (not subways) so make use of these 2 things alone and carry a small amount of rubbish back to your hotel. There is also mention the lack of english speaking staff in restaurants in Japan, are you serious?!! You make the choice to come to a non english speaking country for a visit and then complain people don't speak english! Do restaurant staff in your own countries speak Japanese and other languages?

NZ is too weak to carry out their promise of this. Its all about votes with NZ govt
It is a simple matter of spending what they earn, not of strength. They see a need to alter spending patterns to increase the expenditure on defense. They will do exactly that.
If there is one thing all politicians seem able to do it is to shuffle spending like shuffling cards in a deck. No matter what party leads,
And if there is 1 thing NZ is good at is saying they will do something then change their minds.
Its won't happen.

What's the point of spending all this money on "defence?" Prices are out the roof, taxes are high. What is there to defend?
All Japanese territory and over 120 million citizens, and you wonder what is there to defend? I would call Japan well worth defending, even though it seems you dont agree.
And if in fact it needed to be defended Japan can call on the USA where they have an agreement to fund all their military bases in return of support if it happened.

Australia spending up to 2.5% GDP on defense and looking at going to 3% in the next decade. Even New Zealand is increasing their defense spending in the coming years.
NZ has not spend 1 cent on anything that fires live weapons. All they have done is purchase surveillance aircraft to help with search and rescue & humanitarian support.

Yeah, I see the victim-blaiming of a child who had no idea of the true implications of her actions is already underway in the comments. This is statutory rape. Stop defending rapists by blaming the victim.
I see your back again when anything to do with women pops up in the media.
Just remember 2 years ago she was not classed as a minor.
Also, why is it with you when you pop up in comments you do a major rant and then before anyone has a chance to respond to you the comments are turned off here? One would wonder if there is a conflict of interest going on here.

I might be imagining things, but aren't there more of these stories than usual recently?
That's not a dig at the website; they just report what's going on. But it's like people are getting more and more deranged and doing more and more of these heinous things. Family members killing each other, people using cars as weapons.
Have to wonder if there's some underlying cause.
Or perhaps certain media sites don't want to post anything positive. They only want to report negative things to make people hate more.

Flawed argument, when science proves the current climate crisis is caused by human that does not mean every single change in climate and temperatures can be attributed to the same cause, that is a completely irrational position.
Do you have any actual scientific argument that refutes the consensus of the experts? because just saying you don't understand the topic is not an argument.
Do YOU have any scientific argument that this total BS is caused by humans? Or are you just going off whats on the internet by supposed scientists?
