The police need to act on anything they feel suspicious. Call it what you will, but appearance of a person plays a lot into their judgement. Naturally there will be cases where they will be over playing their card, like the bike example above belonging to his wife, but in those cases they should have processes in place to clear that up. It needs understanding on both sides, that the police need to act on appearance to, to do their job. At the same time, maybe don’t look suspicious. One should appreciate that if you live in a certain area and the police know you, then you will probably go off the radar. It’s about integration into the community. Actually one should see it as a good sign, because it means the police are protecting the area for the better safety of your family.

What do you expect, if you increase price and margin much faster than what their food items are costing and people’s incomes are not increasing. Their prices would have been this high even if the rice price did not go up. No better proof than the fact that their profits are increasing. I certainly don’t eat there as often as I used to and also don’t enjoy it as much, because it is not an everyday priced meal anymore and you cannot enjoy ordering what you want, but rather have to watch what you order to get the price down to a reasonable amount. Partly nations economics and partly corporate greed.

Disgusting that the teacher and school doesn’t come down hard on this especially if there is proof. What sort of lesson are you teaching young minds, when you let bullies get away with it.
FYI Tsukuba University is a national school, so to get in you have to get super good grades also so it is not about being of a “good” family background only. [With a few obvious exceptions :-)]

Japanese government should allow a window or set amount of cheap rice imports to curtail the price and kick out the speculators propping up the price. Letting it hold will only incentivize speculators. Also if they don’t change the situation, the general population will learn to enjoy new alternatives to rice, which will damage the rice industry further. It will also dissuade people from stockpiling and reverting back to regularly timed buying to encourage a more manageable rice flows. Them not doing so probably means someone higher up will be out of pocket…..corruption.

As long as they come and pay their own way, and not from taxpayers money that could be used to support local students, it is a good sign. But if not, or they are all here at language schools for an elongated holiday or some dodgy scheme…..not welcome. Also maybe need a more detailed stat.

Well if I do notated my body thinking it is for medical students to learn how to operate etc, I would be annoyed if it was used for massage therapists. On this front I have some questions. One being, wouldn’t rigamortis make this a bit difficult. Two, wouldn’t it be better to do this on a live person? I find it difficult to see the medical benefit for a massage therapist needing to practice on a dead body. Three, if they did use the dead bodies, how did they use it and if the bodies are then used again for medical students training for internal studies……basically need more information, otherwise this article is just for the generation of clicks.

If done properly it would be good, but foreign tourism will price out locals. They are there to make money so understandable but doesn’t mean people have to like it. A lot of people will hate this. As this is not going to be created with locals in mind but foreign facing and to line the wallets of the foreign investors. Look at Niseko. I am glad I got to enjoy it before the overdevelopment and greed set in.
