I'm not ethnically Japan, I've been stopped for ID and to prove my bicycle is mine multiple times, occasionally by the SAME officer that has stopped me prior for the SAME reason multiple times to the point I learnt his name and refer to him by it when he stops me. You know what I do? Deal with the uncomfortable situation for all of maybe 5 minutes and move on with my day.

Always seems odd that they wave the flag of a foreign nation they are adamantly against being sent to.

Seems odd they're looking for recruits when they have the US do all their fighting for them usually.

As the saying goes "Import the 3rd world, become the 3rd world."

Deportations fix this, banning a tool that is required when walking the bush does absolutely nothing, but this is Melbourne politics we are talking about, the win the gold medal in uselessness.

Huh, Kananaskis Golf Course again? Used to work there, I remember the owner who had a photo from the last one with Bush and Blaire in his office. The owner was a lizard looking jerk.

I find it kind of shocking how sick and twisted his friendship is with Jay Z, who they both are alleged of r*ping a teenager together at a party in the early 2000s while Jay Z's female accomplice at the time watched (kinda narrows down who it would be considering how long he and the lady pretending to be a cowboy have been a couple) and yet no one even mentions it.

Cheap yen attracts cheap criminals, sadly it's to be expected. Still, authorities always need to make an example out of foreigners who come here thinking they can get away with petty crimes. It's the only true deterrent

I really hope Sasaki finds his footing out of the starting season slump he's in. Has a bright career ahead of him, just needs to correct course while he's got the time with the Dodgers.

I hate to say it, but if you really want to make an impact have it be by permit only. Then make a residency card a requirement of the permit application. This will absolutely cut down on numbers.

Posted in: Japan's household spending in October falls 1.3% amid rising prices See in context

The added stress on reliance on a weak yen for influx in tourism while simultaneously making domestic travel more expensive directly because of increased tourism is wreaking havoc on the very people that can least afford it and require the government to protect them the most. This cycle is chaotic, who knows where things will be if this continues a further few years.

Posted in: Bear killed after 2 days in Akita supermarket See in context

Having lived in rural mountain towns in Alberta for 6 years and dealing with bears almost daily in summer, the decision to kill the bear makes some sense. The animal had at this point become to comfortable in urban surroundings, meaning getting it to acclimatize back into the mountains is nearly impossible if the bear has been gaining access to food in urban areas for an substantial length of time. These aren't deer, they are bears.

Its the same old story, overworked and under loved equals an empty household and a lack of family. Who could or would want to bring a child into that? Until things change and young professionals are allowed to live their lives again, the cycle will only continue.

I've owned a half dozen dogs over the years with breeds from Australian Cattle Dog, to Irish Springers to Golden Retrievers. They're are some absolutely abysmal owners out there, but it absolutely is the breed too. You can't untrain instinct. That would be like trying to untrain bird not to fly. They were born and bred to fight, it's in their DNA.

Bold move, I sincerely hope it works. I lived in Canada for a decade and I'd rather eat roadkill than ANYTHING served at Circle K. The quality control and management techniques of Circle K in Canada are beyond pathetic. It would absolutely be a loss for Japan's kombini industry to allow these guys a massive foothold into the country.

Harris is a empty-vessel puppet that will do whatever her handlers tell her and Trump is an unabashed sociopath with a god complex. Neither are good options for Japan.
