This is Israel's phase 2. Starvation and ethnic cleansing. Trump has offered them the ethnic cleansing and they intend to take it.

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said Sunday that the government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz, is working to establish a “migration administration” that will oversee the exodus of Palestinian residents from the Gaza Strip.

Envisioning the exodus, Smotrich estimated that “if we take out 5,000 a day it will take a year. The logistics are complicated because we need to know who is going to which country.”

Caucus chair Yuli Edelstein of Likud said at the meeting: “Things that for decades looked impossible now seem a super-legitimate subject for discussion. The right steps should be taken to usher in a new Middle East.”

You then produce a group of cherry picked quotes non of which were said by Trump.

The only part you said by Trump was “they’re going to have much better housing... a permanent place for them.” which as the article you cherry picked from says

"Karoline Leavitt assured reporters that Palestinian displacement would be “temporary” and that no U.S. troops or tax dollars would be involved in Gaza. However, in a February 10 Fox News interview, Trump appeared to contradict this

Next, just being born in a territory does not necessarily give them rights. For example, even if children of foreign parents are born in Japan, this does not grant them citizenship in Japan.

That's a rather odd, self-defeating argument to make when discussing Israel. You do know a vast majority of the Jewish population of Israel are only a few generations old right? 60,000 in 1918, 7.5 million in 2025.

To become a citizen of Israel you don't even have to be born there or have any ancestory from the region. Being Jewish is enough. So being Israeli is more akin to European Christians declaring themselves Japanese.

Arafat's father was from Gaza. Netanyahu's father was from Poland.

There was a lot more autonomy in the region until the European powers occupied it and carved it up according to their own whims. As per the Sykes-Picot agreement.

Hamas says an agreed second phase must now begin, leading to a permanent Israeli withdrawal and an end to the war.

Hamas says it is committed to the originally agreed ceasefire that had been scheduled to move into a second phase

"We will support their decision on next steps given Hamas has indicated it’s no longer interested in a negotiated ceasefire,” Hughes said.

The American statement doesn't line up with reality.

Israel has killed at least 118 Palestinians in Gaza since the start of the ceasefire on Jan 19th. This statistic doesn't include the dozens of babies and children that have frozen death as a result of Israel's destruction of Gaza's infrastructure and blockading of humanitarian aid.

Meanwhile in the West Bank Israel has displaced more than 400,000 Palestinians in its largest operation in decades.

“Israel has negotiated in good faith since the beginning of this administration. . ."

"Good faith"? I disagree.

Why bend over backwards to discredit international law for a war criminal?

Germans feel a special responsibility towards Israel due to the legacy of the Holocaust

If any true lessons of history were learnt then Germany's own history of genocide and ethnic cleansing (Not the only country guilty of such crimes) should make them more reluctant to be associated with a war criminal and a state on trial for genocide.

“You can’t live in Gaza right now."

“You look over the decades, it’s all death in Gaza,” Trump added. "This has been happening for years. It’s all death. If we can get a beautiful area to resettle people, permanently, in nice homes where they can be happy and not be shot and not be killed and not be knifed to death like what’s happening in Gaza.”

It's astounding the level of cognitive dissonance and moral duplicity required to say all of that when the man responsible for all that death and destruction is sat directly opposite you and you were the one that gave him the means to do it in the first place.

So if Gaza is "cleaned out" Who is moving in?

NB, Points 1-3 sound good. 4 and 5 throw up some red flags.

I've edited point 4 to offer the Palestinian perpsective.

4) The European Jews (who arrived to the land in the framework of the Zionist project at the end of the 20th century AD) must renounce their false consciousness of being THE "ancestral" people and the exclusive "home owner" of the land.

Point 5 sounds like you think the people of Gaza should leave Gaza to allow for reconstruction. Kind of a tough sell for a people who were displaced twice by the Jewish state in 1948 and 1967 and still undergo daily displacement in the illegally occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem. History record shows that when Israel removes Palestinians from their homes they are not allowed back.

Hamas on Sunday called for an "escalation in the resistance" against Israel

Oh, that is going to work out real good.

Foregoing resistance is working out real good too. 2022 had the highest number of Palestinian casualties in the West Bank since 2005. Land theft and Illegal Israeli colony construction in the West is the highest it's ever been in the entire history of the conflict.

Israel won't end it's own occupation, U.S. support is unconditional and international law ineffectual so that leaves the Palestinians with a bit of a quandry. "Damned if you do, damned if you don't" as they say.

Around 750,000 Arabs from the Palestinian territories decided to become citizens of Jordan in 1948. - iknowall

You're confusing facts. 750,000 was the estimated number of Palestinians that either fled or were expelled by Israel in 1948. i.e. the Nakba.

Most ended up in Gaza and the West Bank with others ending up in surrounding Arab states. The UN partition plan proposed the creation of 2 states with Gaza and the West Bank constituting the Palestinian state. Jordan negotiated with Israel and Britain for the annexation of the West Bank excluding the Palestinians themselves.

Palestinian refugees who ended up in the illegally annexed Jordanian controlled West Bank did not become Jordanian citizens.

I have long argued that the only solution to the "Palestinian" issue would be a return of Gaza to Egypt and the West Bank to Jordan, but both governments unsurprisingly refuse this. - Zaphod

A bit late to that party I'm afraid. Jordan's King Abdullah was assassinated in 1951 by Palestinians for his illegal annexation of the West Bank. I think that sends a pretty clear message about whether the Palestinians consider themselves Palestinian or a vassal of the Hashemite kingdom.

But ultimately whether the governments of the surrounding Arab countries agree to accept refugees or not is not the point. It's the Palestinian's inalienable right to self-determination that matters.
