Every attack Israel makes against anyone is US-backed, so I guess that makes the US is a totally legitimate target too. No double standards.

Then you have US zionist Jews shooting at Israeli jews on vacation in the street of US because they thought they were Palestinians. Tell me again who is the real danger.

Hopefully if Trump continues with this kind of behavior America will lose it's global influence and power which is a good thing for the world.

Trump is just speeding up the inevitable. The US has basically admitted to the fact that they are way overextended. Their breaking of ties with many of their closest allies, and almost complete abandonment of soft power initiatives show that they dont care either.

So long as they have enough nukes to deter a Chinese invasion I guess thats all that matters to them.

Posted in: Mount Fuji climbers to be charged ¥4,000 on all trails See in context

If the money goes towards improving safety infrastructure in the area, and making sure there arent mountains of garbage being left behind, then i dont see any issue with this whatsoever.

Its just another one of those ragebaiting news pieces designed to antagonize people who have never visited Fuji, and probably have no intention of visiting either.

deployin missiles in your own country, i dont see how this is at all controversial. I dont understand why there arent already missiles in Kyushu. Perhaps the Tokyo elite dont think its worth saving. Well, perhaps Sakamori 2.0 should show them whats what.

Posted in: Ohtani's Tokyo airport arrival hidden from fans hoping to catch glimpse of Dodgers star See in context

There is something very unhealthy about this kind of behaviour.

Wait in line for a ball game, sure.

Wait around for hours to glimpse a ball player for a second (or not at all), why?

The reverse is also weird though, why is this person being hidden from their fans? He isnt some world leader.

Posted in: Trump vows to take back 'stolen' wealth as tariffs on steel, aluminum imports go into effect worldwide See in context

It’s already rebounding and as the months go on, people will see it re-stabilize

According to what metric?

Economic growth forecasts have been revised down.

Decline in DXY.

Decline in US stocks.

Homeowner survey showed nearly 600,000 have lost their job in Feb

Kind of rich coming from the country that has the worlds reserve currency.

Posted in: Japan OKs policy for replacement of troubled foreign trainee scheme See in context

Is there truly a global race to acquire foreign talent to clean hotel rooms, do construction jobs and work in poultry processing plants?

It takes something special to do a lot of these thankless and gruelling tasks.

What came first? The threats of kidnapping a mans children or the physical abuse?

I can imagine many people would react irrationally if you told them they will never be able to see their children again.

Changes employment contracts to abuse the part-time workers loopholes, then complains about not having any full time workers. Gotta love it.

Just had a TRIAL store popup in my area of Tokyo, still need to check it out, now more motivated to do so!

It used to have really low quality vibes, but in the past couple of years their offerings seem to have improved a lot.

Posted in: Veterans speaking out on Trump administration's plans to cut VA's budget See in context

Or they could tax the ultra-rich a tiny fraction of their wealth… or not, tough decision though. Cut veterans’ health benefits and essential services, or take a minuscule amount from a tiny group of people who wouldn’t even realize it’s gone, maybe instead of handing out billions in subsidies to corporations that don’t need them. Tough decisions, tough decisions.

Posted in: Trump signs plan for reciprocal tariffs on U.S. trading partners, ushering in economic uncertainty See in context

I’m sure everyone here knows it, but just a reminder. Tarrifs are taxes paid by the importer, not the exporter. Foreign governments will not be paying any tarrifs.

Dont insult American voters. Im sure all of them know exactly what they voted for, and all of them are fully prepared for higher prices

Time to close tax loopholes that allow US multinationals to get away with paying no tax. Only fair.

Posted in: Trump aides defend Gaza takeover proposal but walk back some elements See in context

In the end, money always talks, we have already seen a lot of cave-ins from tariff threats and aid funding, so give it time.

Canada and Mexico didn’t “cave” to Trump’s tariffs, their actions were already in place before his administration. This was just a show for MAGA fans to make it look like he's racking up wins. Smart move, but he’ll need all the wins he can get because the real economic problems facing the U.S. are immensely difficult to tackle.

Posted in: Trump aides defend Gaza takeover proposal but walk back some elements See in context

Heres an idea.

Gaza reconstructed sector by sector with the Palestinians remaining in Gaza, the one group returns to live in the reconstructed area

But you forgot one thing, how is this good for Israel?

Posted in: Trump aides defend Gaza takeover proposal but walk back some elements See in context

Best case scenario, Trump comes out with this totally ridiculous plan in the hope that a slightly less ridiculous plan seems more reasonable. For which he will likely settle.

Worst case scenario, The US somehow accepts the whole of Israel as part of the United States, not just Gaza, allowing the US to "defend itself" against any haters in the ME.

They will kill every person??

This isnt what ethnic cleansing means.

Are you deliberately confusing ethnic cleansing with a genocide?

7 ( +7 / -0 )

Posted in: 'Riviera of the Middle East' — Trump says he wants U.S. to take charge of Gaza Strip and redevelop it See in context

Well, the other tried and failed, miserably

What does this even mean?

You accept that Israel IS in the process of ethnic cleansing Gaza?

You believe that Hamas actually had the means to ethnically cleanse Israel?

Posted in: 'Riviera of the Middle East' — Trump says he wants U.S. to take charge of Gaza Strip and redevelop it See in context

I disagree, to an extent you are right, but overall, when we refer to systematic ethnic cleansing, we refer to it as a final solution, relocating and removing…..more difficult argument to make.

No, "The final solution" (holocaust) was a genocide. The forced displacement of millions of people from their home IS ethnic cleansing.

It is a textbook example of ethnic cleansing.

Ethnic cleansing doesnt have to be violent, but in this case it has already been very violent, and the forced eviction of the Gazan population will definitely lead to even more bloodshed.

It is a sad sad state of affairs when we find ourselves trying to cover for one of the worst crimes against humanity.

One state is actually in the process of ethnic cleansing the other

Wrong. Wrong President and wrong party. One reason why the establishment hates Trump so much is because they can’t control this guy, they tried, but he’s definitely not moldable the way Biden was

The guy has been back in office for less than a month, and he has all but agreed to the ethnic cleansing of over 2 million people. This doesnt come across as a policy he came up with by himself does it?
