Being a sole carer for someone who is living with dementia is extremely isolating and exhausting. They also seemed to live reclusive lives. The what ifs are futile now and they should be left to rest in peace.

I don't know President Trump expects. No-one wants to simply roll over and let him get his own way. He's basically "screwed" the United States all in his very own.

Most of us have our hands full just making living and getting by day by day. I doubt much thought was put into this "supervisory role" plan. And what are the consequences if things sour between both parties? It's simply not feasible.

Posted in: A U.S. Navy captain ordered military funeral for kamikaze pilot during WWII. Here's why See in context
I read an account by a Japanese ryokan 旅館 owner during the war. Before flying their final mission the young pilots spent their last night at the inns. They wrote letters to their family many of which you can read online today. They were extremely young men. Some as young as 16. In the morning after they left the staff went to clean the rooms and the futons. It was recorded that the pillows were always drenched with tears. I don't believe for a moment they relished the thought of their mission.

Genuine question. What will happen to US steel if this deal fails? Won't they be forced to close factories and lay off workers? Both companies had pledged not to cut jobs and made other concessions in an effort to win support for the deal. They have also offered to fund a workforce training centre - and reportedly give the government the right to veto potential production cuts. But still Biden is unconvinced.

"Not all country able to issue international permit that being accepted by Japan, need to be in the list of countries that signed 1949 convention".
Then don't drive in a foreign country. No valid licence= illegal.

This is terribly sad. I am truly sorry for their families. My twenty six year old daughter and a few friends intend to climb Fuji this summer. They are hiring a guide. She's healthy and athletic with no known health issues. But after reading this I am slightly concerned.

This makes me sick. I adopted my dog from a shelter in Japan eight years ago. He was in appalling circumstances when they found him. I cannot abide by pet shops abd cannot bear to see dogs on display for sale. I hope this man gets the severest penalty possible and those poor creatures under his "care" are able to find loving homes.

Although what she did was very wrong, I imagine this young woman was fearful of the consequences of having a baby out of wedlock. There is still a stigma around this. I really hope there can be more support for unwed mothers and more public information for women in her situation. This is very sad indeed and doubtless her life ahead will always be marred by her decision.
