Tesla exemplifies engineering excellence, they have redefined how to make a vehicle and virtually singlehandedly made the EV segment viable. I feel sorry for the engineers who worked so hard on acheiving this. The damage done to the brand by Elon will be hard to recover from.

The sheer amount of water involved in ensuring the on-land salmon farming pens are clean and fresh must be astronomical. Businesses will be incentivized to cut costs, and thus will be incentivized to use poorly recycled water, or chemicals to "clean" the water, and will also gravitate towards smaller pens with more fish in each. Result: filthy, unhealthy fish. Enjoy your 120yen salmon sushi at the cheapo places.

Given the almost complete transparency in wages here in Japan, it still amazes me that people willingly sign up to work for companies, intending to stay for life, even despite knowing that their maximum possible wage is going to be paltry.

The underlying presumptions here are just the typical ethno-supremacist views that are often heard in Japan.
"Japanese know what's best!"

"Japan for the Japanese"Do they really think Couche-Tard (or any buyer) would be incentivized to devalue their investment by ruining what makes it good?

While it sucks to be grinding for these sorts of wages, Japan can be a great place to live if you're smart enough to get above the fray and save/invest a decent amount. You don't need to be an expert in personal finance to know that 1oku (100m) yen here will go a lot further than $1m in the US ever would.

Why does everyone assume this is about Chinese hating Japanese? The attacker didn’t say anything before he attacked. Unfortunately all the posters immediately blaming Chinese people increases the feeling of hate between races.
Assumptions are made based on past precedents, not to mention a long-held culture in China of racially demonizing the Japanese. The implicit government sanctioning of that mentality (i.e. choosing not to censor such inflammatory remarks) certainly doesn't help their case. And no, outraged posters on an internet board do not "increase feelings of hate", rather, it's unprovoked attacks on innocents and the apologists who defend them.

"Harm reduction activists" have caused more harm than they can imagine. 30 years ago I was very wililng to argue that these methods be given a chance, but it's clear now they don't work. During the years these activist's have had sway over policy, drug addiction, lawlessness, and homelessness have all gotten worse. Time to acknolwedge that the experiment was tried but failed, and move on to an alternative approach.

Aeon should pull out of Myanmar and not prop up the Military Junta directly or indirectly.
Do you actually think Japan sides with the West on Myanmar?? Not even close. The Japanese have been one of the biggest backers of the military government in Myanmar, providing billions in ODA money while keeping quiet about human rights issues (except when one of their own happens to be nabbed), and Japanese businesses have been falling over one another to try and get a foothold in the market.

Admitted murderer of 3, strongly suspected in 48 cases, seems pretty lenient of them not to put her on death row. Not to mention it's taken 7 years just to get to this point. This is one of Miyazaki's worst movies IMO. The plot is difficult to follow and makes little sense. In addition to the nonsensical plot, their patience will be tested as the pacing is extremely slow, with nothing really happenubg for the first 45min or so.
