Nothing will come out of this. Look at that Johnnys case that went on for years that the pedo died of old age before being persecuted. Or that ex-politician that raped a 12yr old in a karaoke box that got away with a suspended sentence after he apologize and settled with the victims family. How about that ex-SMAP guy who paid the victim 90million Yen that it went under the rug only until it was exposed by some tabloid reporter.

Most self checkout registers have English language options, perhaps he did not use that and did not realize the bags are not free. If not familiar, one would really think they are free for taking given that it is logical that you will need a bag when you buy items from the store.
Whether 3yen or 3000yen, Japanese are not known to make adjustments for ones ignorance. They will implement rules and policies by the book, no adjustments. Nevertheless, violence is never justified.

Fuji TV is the biggest network in Japan with its massive station in Odaiba. I think it will survive this but must be more transparent with its handling of its talents and hosts. For many years they have used idols from Johnyy's turning a blind eye on SA allegations of the founder in exchange for the pull this talents have on their network profits.

Majority are sending money back to their home countries to support families left behind or pay for incurred debt coming to Japan. Most of their salaries (as low as it is) are never spent in Japan, they just leave enough to pay for living expense and the rest are remitted back home. With the very weak Yen, they need to work overtime to compensate for rising costs.
They should consider other countries in Europe which are mass hiring for the same job but different culture, better pay and working visa arrangements.

Perhaps Thailand is not exactly sending their best to Japan?
I always see you comment "this country is not sending the best". Do you even know what these people do here in Japan and how much they are paid for? Many do meager jobs that either Japanese have no interest in doing or too old to be doing. The Yen value going down isn't helping either as they send bulk of their meager salaries back to their home countries.
These foreigners did the crime so they must face the consequences but don't act like only foreigners commit crimes here and demand that those coming to work here must be the cream of the crop.
Some desperate people commit theft regardless of nationality, no excuses, just facts.

Posted in: Japan nursing care bankruptcies hit record high for Jan.-June period See in context
amid rising prices and labor shortages
Not many young Japanese wants to become caregivers so these companies look to professionals from Asian countries like Philippines or Indonesia, who mostly are licensed nurses back at their home countries. Many of them quit though when they find out about the hard working condition, fairly low wage plus a declining Yen as many of them send a large portion of their wages back to their home countries.
Bringing families here in Japan to live with them will be financially difficult as well as uncertainty due to their limited years of visa validity.

Mochiake
Few years ago, I've stayed in Beijing for work for two months. Although I don't speak Chinese, I see TV dramas and movies about Japanese occupation of China everyday I was there. I've watched Flowers of War (Rape of Nanking, starring Christian Bale) too many times in the hotel I was staying. If this is not state sponsored brainwashing, I don't know what to call it.
Japan brutally occupied China for almost a decade and showed very little humanity and regard toward the civilians. It's documented. They bayoneted pregnant women while raping and massacring tens of thousands. You have no problem with that? Every August, Japan rolls out the victim card and plays like they were always a peaceful nation; the innocent victim. Peace-loving and pacifism got forced onto them. You can buy that bs they are selling if you want but don't try to sell it to me. Not once in the near 4 decades here have I heard one Japanese person speak on Nanjing. Ever heard of Unit 451? They conducted hideous experiments on Chinese people, which Japan has never acknowledged. Go read up on your history.
I am not trying to sell you anything. My post is about my experience how the CCP controls their media, stoking nationalism and sowing hatred. I am not denying Imperial Japans invasion of China and its brutality. Where in my posts did I claim all that you say did not happen? My own country was invaded by IJA as well. They were brutal and left it in ruins too. But you cannot deny that the Japan that was then is not the present Japan, it is far from perfect like any democratic country. We all know that through the years living and working here, something that many present Chinese doesn't know because of what they see on their TV everyday.

I've seen "salary reveal" videos of people under "trainee" visa and many earns around 100,000yen. Then there's personal expenses and they have to send some of whats left of that to their families in their home countries. With the value of yen going down, they need to render many hours of overtime to cover for that lost. Truly a hard situation for many under the internship visa program.
We do not know the background of these two, but they did commit the crime and needs to be punished according to the law.

I guess its a big hit for fans but if you are casual and see the way it was constructed where there are obvious attachments for it to move, you would wonder if the price of ticket to see it is better spent on just seeing the one in Odaiba for free specially if your goal is to take pictures only.
Perhaps when the technology is there where the giant robot can move independently, now that is one worth buying ticket for. The location though is very near to tourist spots like Minato Mirai, Akarenga, Yamashita-park, Motomachi Chukagai so one can just see this Gundam from the outside if you are already in the area.

Posted in: Japan to OK home care visits by more foreign workers See in context
Many of the foreign caregivers are licensed nurses from their home countries and are English speakers. The main hurdle of passing the nursing exams here is the Japanese language so they end up as caregivers where pay is lower. They should try other countries where they could work as nurses and language is not a barrier. Lower wages as caregiver plus the falling Yen doesn't make Japan attractive for these skilled workers.
