9,000 bears culled in the past year but people only get upset over the supermarket bear? People really are selective over what they choose to be outraged at on any given news cycle.

Look at what happens to wild bears in Alaska that encroach on populated areas. Same thing. Nothing remotely unique to Japan.

The US justice system isn’t much better, if you’re talking about wrongfully accused. If you can’t afford a good lawyer who can spin the law, you’re screwed. At least the wrongfully accused in the US, who are acquitted, who spent decades in prison get a pay out from the city and/ or state in the tens of millions (dollars).

Tattoos are a great form of art. Too many people just get poorly done or poorly placed tattoos. Unless you’re a rich celebrity, face and hand tattoos are not a smart choice. Neck tattoos are the upper limit of what’s acceptable for the average non famous person imo.

In principle, as a customer, I don’t care that Amazon strong arms retailers into lowering their prices since they automatically charge me 600 yen a month anyway for their Prime service. Never had to pay anything for returns and was always 100% reimbursed.

K drama’s have always been soapy and binge worthy. That’s why everyone used to rent them from Tsutaya. Still doesn’t explain the country’s abysmal suicide rate though. Korea is the last place you want to be if you’re dealing with mental health issues.

I agree with you but you need to come up with a better adjectives than animal to describe these people.
Animals are not evil and do not “murder” in the sense that us humans use and define the word. Human filth, garbage, scum, POS, would suffice.

If the Japanese didn’t enjoy sex, there wouldn’t be love hotels around every corner. Problem is that Japanese don’t have sex to procreate… or with their spouses because it’s not cheating if it’s a financial transaction and no “love” is involved in their minds.

Graduate Students in international relations will be writing dissertations about Abe for decades to come. Regardless of what you think of his legacy, he was a class act in diplomacy and did more for Japan on the global stage than any PM before him. Politics is 90% pomp and BS brown nosing and Ishiba isn’t important enough to act like a jerk (like Trump) around other global leaders.

Good question. If I were a criminal and fleeing Japan, I’d probably choose a country with no extradition treaty with Japan as my base. Don’t know where, but probably Latin America or some Caribbean country. My guess is they can’t speak English and it’s easier to communicate in Japanese in SE Asia.

They need constant attention, easily spooked and unpredictable if they are in/ around new environments. They need a certain kind of owner who can dedicate their waking day to them. That’s why police don’t use them. I’ve had German shepherds and Belgian Malinois growing up. They don’t get spooked by anything and are protective, will bare their teeth and growl but not violent… unless their owner is being attacked or something.

Posted in: Ex-Olympus CEO illegal drugs case referred to prosecutors See in context
Olympus should be more concerned with their chronic alcoholic VP’s than an alleged recreational drug user. That seems more of a detriment to a person’s ability to do their job. Besides, police will refer anything to prosecutors to see what sticks and most cases referred to prosecutors are thrown out and not pursued. That’s why they have over a 99% conviction rate. If all they have on this guy is hearsay from a drug dealer, I doubt they will bother.

I didn’t say she was guilty but it’s pretty black and white. She needlessly put her child’s life in danger by shacking up with a man, who is not even the father of her newborn child, and didn’t bother reporting anything until after her ex was arrested for a separate offense involving another woman.

Why do women always get a free pass? 4 month old baby and this guy is not the father. The guy should have some jail time and child welfare services should take the baby until the mother completes a court ordered parenting course. That is what better social services in this country should look like.
